I would love Brandon Prust. He can't handle a puck to save his life but he can skate really well and cause some mayhem on the forecheck. Not a bad fighter either, good energy player.

I understand that about his game, but continually losing face-offs, puck battles and giving the puck away. Adding to the fact Thornton outscored him leads me to a pretty clear conclusion.

It's going to be interesting to see how Kindl's game translates when he's surronded by top tier talent. I'd like to think that if he gets to play more of a helping role in puck possession rather then the leader that he can really help, he's a very very good passer and that's one thing I think could really make him into a better NHLer then he might appear to be. Some players just can't adjust to playing in the AHL, and some players look completely different when they can play with the best.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy we have Pavel and I do appreciate him. He's an elite player in every sense of the word, I just was not 100% satisfied with his performance verse San Jose. And to be honest he's not performed up to 100% potential in every playoffs like Zetterberg has. I understand the nuances of hockey as well as most people, I was not impressed with Datsyuk's board work and physicality, he made a few passing errors and just didn't play with as much confidence as he did in Phoenix series. I orginally attributed it to an injury, but now that's he's apparently healthy I don't know what to attribute his play to other then giving credit to the player he was essentially matched up every shift against(Thornton).

Exactly, unless people want to get rid of Zetterberg to get an "elite" goalie that could still just fall apart (Luongo, Theodore etc.), I'm completely content with having Howard make the first save, he kept the Wings close and we couldn't bail him out.

Yeah, he wasn't awful. I'm just bitter about the 5 straight faceoff losses at the end of game 5. And I was expecting him to shutdown Jumbo Joe or atleast hamper him.

He needs all the practice he can get. I expected a little more from him in these playoffs, he was outplayed by Joe Thornton in pretty much every aspect.

Being a goalie in Detroit has to be one of the worst jobs in sports. Calder trophy nomination season top 5 SV%/GAA, 30 wins, a game 7 road win and a .915 SV% in the playoffs and he gets called a sieve. He's faced the most shots and has the most saves out any other goalie in the playoffs, he didn't cost the Wings a damn thing.

Too be honest the defensive prospect I like most is Lashoff. He might not have the offensive ability but I just like he's physical game and we have plenty of offense on the back end.

I'd love to get Riley Sheahan. 6-2, good skater and can score. Probably won't drop though.

Is Quincey available? Anyways I don't know if there is a free agent this year that I would be too excited about. Then again I have seen what the free agent defense for '11 yet so who knows. I still think we are going to have to trade for the Lidstrom "replacement" aka First pairing defenseman.
