love how every thread about defense on this board turns into trade stuart thread. funny how we trade for him and we go to back to back cup finals winning one of them. Nevermind the countless times babs and holland have said he was the missing piece for our defense we'll just trade him cause we know best.

It is a pro tryout offer iirc. He said he did not accept any two-way offers because he did not want to play in the minors again. it is either pro or nothing.

In light of all he PA scuttlebutt of players not participaing in on ice workouts with their countries it got me thinking of who I think will make Tema Canada. once again you have gone on the attack without providing any facts. IIRC hudler had plenty of shifts as a top 6 forward over the years and never flourished in that role. He did however flourish in the role of a third line player and was extremely productive. to me you just don't trade one of your top 4 d man for a guy who can't handle top 6 minutes on your team.

dude regardless of what your opinion of downey is in no way shape of form is he gone from this team because of an elbow he threw at some minor league goalie.

Downey said he turned down all 2 way deals this year because he did not want to play in the minors anymore so basically he is either playing in the nhl or nothing. my point is he told holland this and turned down his two way offer. If he was willing to reprise the same roll he did last year for the wings then he would be a Griffin/ depth red wing right now.

class act who is great with young players. i'm thinking that he was offered a 2 way deal by us but choose to go on a pro try out like he said. If he does accept a 2 way deal this year it will be with us.

making lines for this team is a lot harder then in previous years for me at least. Z-D-Bert (would just love to see what these guys could do with Bert opening up space for them) Leino-Fils-Mule (I want to see if leino and fils can be special together) Ceary-Helm-Eaves (my top defensive line who can do it all. for me this line is unreal) Homer-Draps-Williams (not much to say here other then good luck to all the other 29 teams trying to match up with this line) ex Maltby Lids-Rafy Stu-Kron Lebs-Rig ex PP #1 Z-D-Bert with Lids and Rafy PP #2 Mule-Fils-Homer with Kron and Williams PK unit #1- Z and Cleary PK unit #2- Dats and Mule PK unit #3- Draps and Helm PK unit #4- Fils and Eaves

well i figure that neither guy can get over a million so it is very possible to sign them both and still have 100k left over. not to mention the money you save if Lilja goes on LTIR or if meech/lebda gets traded.

total agreement from me brother. i really like him on this teams fourth line. still would like grier along with him though. grier-draps-bert

I am hoping that he meant to say Helm , LEINO and Eaves can make up for sammy and huds points. If that is what he meant to say than I am in total agreement with him. IMO I would look for Kenny to sign one or two of grier, maholtra, pyatt, betts or peca etc if you catch my drift.

Zhredev is 6 2 200lbs. he is a big man. problem is he doesn't play big or in his own zone. he is worth taking a chance on for a 1 year deal just to see how it works out. I would be really scared to sign him long term just incase Babs couldn't get rid of his bad habits.
