This is honestly what I thought we'd see when Holland grabbed Cole. I liked the way Abby-Z-Cole looked last night, but man... break them up if it keeps Glendening out of the top-six. I can't believe I even have to type that...

Welp. It's official. Glendening is the new Cleary. Ansar Khan @AnsarKhanMLive 2m2 minutes ago Babcock said Glendening will play with Datsyuk and Tatar. He wants someone to do some work for those guys.

It's not really about moving him. Hindsight is 20-20, but a few people around here thought he would have been better off starting the season in GR. There's almost no point in doing it now.

I'm of a similar mindset - my guess was/is a four-year deal worth 4.2-4.5 per. My buddy brought up Z's deal after his ELC (I think it was 2.4 or 2.8 million, right?), and Tatar's bridge deal. I don't think it's the same situation, especially considering he's only got a year of RFA status and not two.

I think Jurco's issue is that he's going to try to do too much on that line, because he wants to stay up there. Ironically, if he just plays a simple game, there's a much better chance he'll work himself into a top-six (more likely top-nine) role. His skill will take over if he keeps it simple. My guess is the team will look much better tonight. I doubt they'll start strong, but I see them taking over in the 2nd and 3rd periods.

Am I the only one who thought Quincey had a rough game? I'm not blaming him, but I thought his skating was really choppy. I think he's had a fantastic season, but if his ankle injury is going to cause an issue, he should take care of it. Perhaps he just had an "off" game. Maybe I'm imagining things. I'm 100% behind a healthy Quincey in the line-up. Hopefully he looks better next game.

Holland says of Marchenko, "I want him in the lineup, or I want him playing in Grand Rapids...I'd rather have them [young players] playing than being here and practicing" So... consensus pick for the healthy scratch on defense = Smith? Maybe he can start a wrestling career and re-form the Motor City Machine Guns.

Didn't Babs just say that he wanted Marchenko to play here OR go back down and play in the AHL - just not sitting as the 7th defender? I feel like NHL only used part of the quote. Edit: Holland said it, not Babcock.

I think some people are going to be disappointed. Healthy Quincey = Marchenko out of the line-up IMO, the most realistic outcome here is Kronwall-Ericsson, DD-Quincey & Smith-Zidlicky -

So... he's not gritty because a team traded him? Huh? He's got 116 hits in 57 games with Dallas this year. Most of his goals are scored right in front of the net. Cole's going to provide a solid net-front presence. -

I doubt they make a move on defense, now. I was thinking that 2nd rounder would be involved. Not sure they give up a 1st and risk not having anything until the 4th round. -

It's amazing what a good season will do for a guy. Quincey injured in early October: "Meh. Cool. Maybe now we can call someone up." Quincey injured in late February: "****." For the record, I'd be one of those people in October. KFQ has surpassed my expectations (which were pretty low, but still).
