Ozzie is not getting any better..time to let him go out to pasture..pick up a good available starter in a trade that will unleash Cleary,Kopecky,and Samuelsson and then make room for Howard and Larsson to fight it out for the backup position next year and to keep Hossa and Franzen on board... btw the youngster McCollum could be the next Hasek of the future..

Ozzie this year in general is having a terrible season..his save percentage is like the worst in the NHL and his GAA is not much better(forget the last 5 games before last night..look at the whole season)..it's NOT going to get better in the playoffs..keep CONKS in and get him hot for the playoffs....

Look at the stats..Ozzie is like the worst in the lEague in save percentage and not much better in the GAA department..Conklin has been much better this year..get rid off Samuelsson and Osgood and keep Hossa and Franzen going forward...

Calgary will be out to prove to everyone tonight that they are a Stanley Cup contender. The game is being televised Nationally across Canada and it will be a hell of a game..the Wings better be ready for a tough physical fast skating Flames team tonight...if Detroit is asleep at the wheel..this game could be over early in the first period...remember the 3rd period of the last game they played each other ? Calgary will come out the same way tonight but with even more intensity..IF..we survive the 1st period tonight..the Wings hopefully can claw out a victory..Go Wings Go !!

That does suck...I got to see the only game Detroit was in town here in Ottawa at the beginning of the season..great 3 to 2 victory for the Wings ! I am equally excited about the fact that tonight and tomorrow nights games will be televised locally here in Canada's National Capital Region ! We only get to see Detroit like 10 to 15 times a year up here..kinda sucks..

Put Conklin in tonight...Ozzie was not strong in the 3rd period against the Thrashers nor against the Flames last game..tonight is really important for us to win..the Flames are hot and could be the team to go through in the West..losing to Edmonton tomorrow night is not as important..put Ozzie in tomorrow night...

I agree that the Wings do not lack depth at the D and forward positions or even goaltending. Detroit has a top 4 Dman in Ericsson,a top 4 forward in Leino,Helm,Pare, and Abdelkader,and a decent goalie in Daniel Larsson as well as a potentially great goalie in Tom McCollum. What we need to do is to trade either some or all of Cleary or Filppula or Samuelsson and or Osgood for picks in order to clear cap space and to maintain the core of the team and to allow room for the younger guys to fit in and prepare for the next 5 years . The Wings should try to keep Franzen and Hossa as part of the teams core going forward !

Franzen will sign first for 3 years at approx 2.5 mil per year. Hossa will sign after we win the Cup for 2 or 3 years at 7.5 to 8 mil per year ! I think Filppula or Cleary's days may be numbered in order to keep the core of the team together going forward !!

Ozzie just needs to keep getting better and getting back his confidence..

Despite Ozzie's terrible save percentage(2nd worst in the entire NHL) and horrible GAA(39th in the NHL) he has played 3 solid games now..let's keep our fingers crossed for the rest of the year and into the playoffs..
