I would be interested in this too. It has been a long time since I have been in a fantasy league.
-
Example: Post #12, wrestling with Hulk Hogan, or Madonna's vertical smile. You take your pick. Joe Dumars will be remembered for basketball, Rodman will forever be a freak, and Jaleel White will always be Urkel.
-
Holland verified this on stage Saturday at Hockeyfest. He is FOR SURE going to Russia. 2 years with an out clause after one year written into the contract.
-
Dennis Rodman's career will forever be forgotten by the stupid $hIT he did in his personal life.
-
I know. It was a joke. You're not very good at this are you? Lighten up. Hockey fans are not like basketball fans. Haven't you seen the commercials?
-
I honestly cannot see Pavel sexually assaulting a 19 year old. So no, he is not the Kobe of the NHL.
-
It will be for his induction into the Hall of Fame.
-
This is evident by the Columbus Bluejackets!
-
It is 1 week later, so will these even be broadcast on national television? Or is this just a local Boston thing?
-
End of august per sales rep! Hope this helps.

Well I went to the Prospect Developement Camp on Saturday at the Joe to check out the new blood. During my day with the prospects, one of the Wings execs spilled on who we are playing for the first Joe Louis game for the 2009-2010 season. Wait for it................... Hossa and the Chicago Blackhawks!!! How sweet it is. Thought this might brighten some peoples day. Go Wings!
-
One could hope so, but one could also hope that they renovate instead of move. I love the Joe.

I'm sitting at my desk cracking up because I just watched The Matrix again last week, and the fact it was my original post. Two black cats.
-
So you roam LGW also. Very cool. Well, now you have a face with the name, as do I. I don't know a lot about the playing styles of the two guys. Have to check them out this next season. Good to meet you and your friend too.
-
I'll agree with that and hope someone seconds it!

The two boys from the Rimouski Oceanic, Sébastien Piché and Gleason Fournier. Jesper Samuelsson was at the table next to us. How about you? Also, while some fans may feel betrayed at first and boo during the home opener, I think most of that stuff is usually done towards the league goons that have left a sour taste year after year in the Wings fans mouths. Pronger comes to mind. Hossa played well for us during the season and earned his keep. Post season was a little disappointing though.

So you're a Pens fan?! Well, the bandwagon is waiting for you. This was a case where the better team didn't win. Wings healthy would have been another cup. s*** happens! We can't complain. We made it to game 7. I'm pretty sure 28 other teams would trade places with us. Inexperienced young blood gets you only so far. The Pens spent how many years scraping the bottom to get here, and for how long? Again, people here think they know exactly what to do and when to do it. The NHL is calling boys, step up. I look forward to the future LGW GM's and coaches.

The great thing is it is not a fantasy hockey league and the players will go when they go. Complaining about it in every other post gets old after a while. The hometown discount, while it has been getting less, is still there and is proven by the crap players on other teams that command 7+ million for half the skills of some of our players. It is that simple. Malts, as stated in a previos post by myself, has seen his better days with only 11 points this last regular season. Draper brings alot to the team still, both on and off the ice, but his numbers outside of faceoffs, haven't been the best at 17 points regular season. My point is you have the mentality of out with the old and in with the new. Again, I agree that these players are at/or near the end, but you or anyone else on this board are not going to change it. They are on the roster next season, so lets hope they get goals and play well. Support your team. This means all of them. Remember when all of you were down on Cleary calling him Maltby 2.0, slow, can't skate, not producing??? I do, and then he was the golden child during the playoffs and not a peep. Fickle isn't it. I support my Wings. I support my players. If a player chooses to stick around and continue with us, I respect that player. I have the utmost respect for the Yzermans, Drapers, Maltbys and not for team hopping stanley cup chasers. I supported Hossa while he was here. I cheered for him because he was on the team. I had no respect for him because he didn't earn it yet. And he showed his true colors at the end of the season, like we didn't know that was coming. It is not sentimental, these are your hometown heroes, team players, and leaders. Not these one year contract hotshots. We don't want to buy our Champinship like the Yankees. We build the team, train the team, craft the team, and win. And for the Stanley Cup ticket comment, tickets were sold like every other year, through the zoo that is ticketmaster. If you didn't get tickets, sorry for your luck. Maybe ticketmaster should do something about the douchebags that sit in their moms basement at age 40, an scoop up tons of tickets, only to sell them at an increased value back to the fans on eBay or Stubhub. Oh wait they created TicketExchange, which is aiding in the problem. The deposit for next seasons tickets was only for seats that season ticket holders opted out of for the playoffs. If they were not taken, those were sold the day of, to the public via the box office. So it is not like they were holding thousands of tickets ransom for a season ticket contract. Just an incentive of a few hundred tickets.

Are we honestly going to compare the short 3 seasons that Robert Lang spent or the 5 seasons up and down to and from the minors for Jason Williams, to the careers of both Kris Draper, 15 seasons, and Kirk Maltby, 14 seasons? Seriously? If you are going to argue the facts, which is fine, at least use the old apples to apples method and not just random thoughts. P.S. Bertuzzi was a mistake. Most if not all Wings fans agree.

I wish that the many fickle fans on this board had the loyalty the Wings do for their own players. Good thing you guys are not in the organization itself. That would be scary. It seems to me that people are fans of the Winged Wheel more so than the team itself. Those complaining do not care who is on the team as long as the hat or shirt they are wearing is that of a champion. They work hard as a team and play as a team. Under supervision of some of the people here at LGW, we would be a revolving door for players with no room for mistakes, getting older, being smaller, etc. We have to look at it as a family rather than a cutthroat business that some other organizations make it. This is what sets the Wings apart. The revolving doors teams don't win cups because their teams never gel. We do. Holland is a master at what he does. Period. It's between him and/or the retirement decisions of the players, they will leave when the time is right, regardless of the Game 7 woes of the LGW bash crew. Although, I can rest easy that if the NHL ever has a shortage of GM's that we have about 10-20 that can do a better job than Holland. Good to know. Just don't get too old or you will be shipped out by your own order for a younger version. I do love this forum though. Opinions are always welcome. All in good fun.

Oh you guys! These always crack me up. You love them when they are clutch players and hate them when a season or two doesn't go well. Without veterans, you have nothing. I went to the Prospects Developement Camp this morning at the Joe and we have a lot of up and coming guys that look good. Would I substitute them for an experienced veteran at this point? NO!!! But all players must go at some point, just not because Cindy's diapered ass carried the cup after 7 games. Homer needs to find his spot again. The crease has been a tough spot for him as of late, both with penalty calls and the punishment his body endures doing so. Malts, well, he has probably run his course, but is still a fan favorite. Draper, I see a resign in his future, even though people tend to dog him. He is still one of the hardest working players on the team, his speed is still pretty good and his faceoff percentage is 2nd to none. thanks for the entertainment though. Keep it coming.

Those look really good. Nice!

Very cool time. Showed up 30 minutes late. Between me and the wife, we got 4 things signed. He was very personable as usual and chatted for a moment. He didn't stand for photos but that's ok. Small turnout for one of the best Wings of all time. It's amazing how fast people forget.

Here we go again. The new arenas out there have zero character. It's like being at the mall. The Joe has years of history and a ton of atmosphere. Just needs a little TLC and a fresh coat of paint.

Rafalski, Stuart, Draper, Maltby, Holmstrom and Filppula

It was in the Sunday FreePress that Homer and Malts are not going anywhere.
