I thought smith did a respectable job at playing forward. I've been there , my natural position is d but I've been pressed into playing forward and it's hard to let that defensive mindset go.

I'm really want to know those that are bashing holland and babs exactly what they could have done to prevent these injuries or why/ how do you think they could address them now? Yes our blue line is a little thin but we have laser/ kindle as a 7th man who could we have afforded without dumping salary ? Who's better we could have fit under cap ? Please don't start listing free agents who didn't sign here because guess what they didn't want to sign here. If you don't think 20+ yrs as an elite team has made us more then a few enemies ( thus a last choice trade partner) then your being naive. I assure you ken and babs know way more about the sport of hockey, from a business standpoint and coaching standpoint , then any of us will ever know. If you think the " we like our team " isn't just lip service that means " we tried to improve but what was Ava wasn't what we needed at the price" you haven't been watching the same upper management I have. Yeah Weiss didn't pan out and yeah maybe that money could have went to a top 4 d man but that guy could have sucked also. I'm not saying some head scratching moves haven't been made but with a track record like Hollands ill trust him over any of you 100/100 times

I'm betting the cap recapture mesure was a sticking point for the nhlpa in the last round of talks. It seems very unfair to punish teams for trying to get better. We sign guys to cap friendly deals and then the league comes behind and says no we don't want you doing that o and also here's a penalty for doing

Funny I remember a time when it wasn't an auto penalty and it did happen a bit more then now it wasn't like every time pressure happened they just threw the puck over boards

It was a hack writing job that lacks consistant tone. He attacks the city not pointing out how crappy the other places in con III are. He assumes we still pay big $ for free agents a thing we have not done since the first lockout. He tries to say our minors system doesn't produce when I'm sure we have as many if not more of our draft picks ( granted they aren't top 10 overalls like some teams- looking at you Chicago ) playing on our team then other con 3 teams. When you write a tongue in cheek peice it helps to have your tongue in your cheek not just be bitter that our team has and always will be better.

This After watching the last 3 games in this series and how they played out ( bs ps and all ) I just am sick of the NHL for a few months

No really his passes were so bad that they were laughable and he was often outta position so much so that lashoff and cola but are better options

Cola is not here for long and smith and kindl both are seeing their first real significant time this year. If in two yr ya still feel we need a d upgrade I'll be first to say I was wrong but from what I've seen our d is on the way up and big time.

I think wings bring it and win this game

On paper the hawks are without a doubt the better team however two things strike me here. 1 paper don't play hockey 2. I don't think I need to quote the years the wings lost even when we were the better team.
