That'ld be a cool jersey idea. Does anyone know where I could get a Swedish sweater (like Zetterberg, Lindstrom, or Franzen)? I found a cool Russian Datsyuk jersey, but I already have a regular Datsyuk jersey.

HEY! He's may not be good now (suffers from Cheliositis), but he should be respected. He got several game winning goals, including the 1997 game four stanley cup finals game winner. Not to mention a playoff hat trick that wouldn't be done again for six years. He was also one of the greatest fighters the wings have seen too. ...Oh, and he broke the 42 year curse when he beat up claude lemieux. But yah know, no biggie

Idk why it seems everyone has forgotten about Conklin, but it's starting to get frustrating. During the regular season who did we rely on? Who did we look to when Osgood was shaky? Conklin stepped up all season, and I think he has the potential to be an outstanding goaling. I think we should keep the goalies we have and play them as such: Conklin as regular season starter; Osgood as regular season back up; keep Howard training in Grand Rapids (or sign another goalie. BUT i think our cash is better spent elsewhere, as our defense is strong enough to be safe with a goalie that is not a super-star) (FYI I'm agreeing with VM1138, not criticizing him)

Red Wings are still the best team in the NHL! I'ld rather have a conference champion team on its 18th playoff birth (best in ALL of sports history) than a team who only got as far as they did because of 1st and 2nd round draft picks after 12 years of sucking hard! (Wings willl bring back Stanley next year!)

-We're Conference CHAMPIONS! -We're the NHL's best franchise (and probably all of sports) Let's focus on the latter. Lets focus on the fact that no other team has been this good for this long. Lets hope the wings continue to be post-season ready ever year. You should be elated to be a part of the NHL's premiere team. That reputation lasts forever, a cup victory can only last so long (especially if its in a town like pittsburgh). Remember, those fans in Pittsburgh will jump of their BANDWAGON team soon enough. (Btw. Everyone is upset. I'm a lot more upset than I thought I would be. But shake it off over the weekend, and be proud to be a fan of the mighty Detroit Red Wings!)

Ozzie, he definitely deserves the MVP after all two cups (plus Z won it last year). After all, he is often refereed to as one of the most under-appreciated goaltender of all-time, so he needs some props.

I was @ game 5, and yes, it was chanted multiple times. The crowd also did Malkin sucks chants as well when he ever he got sent to the box.

What did you expect? And anyway, even if this wasn't on the internet I think this same sort of thing would have happened (bar, house, stadium, etc.). You don't go into someone else's house and mock them without expecting them to fight back.....unless it's Sindey's house, in which case they won't fight back, they'll just cry to a ref and have him do it.

Hahaha, yah man I totally agree. I'ld rather have a team revered as one of the greatest franchises of all of sports (18 playoff births in a row and counting) than some bandwagon team that has a few lucky draft members. I was a little worried about the Wings, but this thread has really brightened my spirits. The Wings will prevail!!!

Although Helm breaks the record for the most playoff goal before a regular season goal, it's still really sad to see he isn't eligible for Rookie of the Year or even his name on Lord Stanley's Cup. Each player had scored a record 4 career playoff goals before scoring a goal in the regular season. Moments later Helm scored to give the Wings a 2-1 win. Helm now holds the record alone as that was his 5th career Stanley Cup playoff goal . . . and counting. Helm will be looking to earn his second Stanley Cup championship ring and amazingly he is still eligible for the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year next season. Helm's Red Wings will of course have to defend their title against the Pittsburgh Penguins in a rematch. Game one is Saturday night at 7:30 EST. I will have my finals predictions by Saturday morning. Yah, I had forgotten about the re-seeding of the teams. (Quite frankly the way you have it set up helps in figuring out who would play who in round 2). Plus at this point this bracket may be completely accurate for round two, because the Ducks bagged two games in the San Jose Guppie Tank.

I really like the new wallpaper, I really do. However, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the brackets are out of order; the winner of the Wings/Jackoffs series goes onto play the winner of the Canucks/Blues series, not the winner of the Sharks/Ducks series.
