The pens boards are pretty cocky and confident in themselves now. They think that we are dead in the water and datsyuk will be 60% at best until they hack at him and force him to leave.
-
The puck took an unforunate bounce right over his stick and when he tried to stop to retrieve it he skates just failed him. s*** happens. Everybody catches an edge and goes down every once in a while. One thing that i noticed Kronwall is great at is walking around defenders at the point. I believe he flubbed one up last game but he can sidestep defenders wonderfully.

Datsyuk will play, Cleary "Questionable"

Kind of strange that Hank and Pav are skating together. I think everyone assumed that if pavs was playing than him and Z would split up to shut down Crosby and Malkin. -
I am pretty sure a lot of people were not quite happy with our performances in games 1 and 2 and even babcock himself said that he thought we looked exhausted.

I was too, last night. Maybe it's because i deep down felt that after we went down 4-2, that we were running of fumes and weren't gonna make it out of there with a W so i had like half of the game to accept it rather than have my nerves and hopes be pushed to the end which is always heartbreaking when you lose after that.

Actually i think this place is way more calm and collected than i have witnessed in the past and expected tonight. EDIT: Except for Redwashington. That guy's been thrown into a fit of rage rarely seen on the internet.

I felt this way too. I thought to myself that i wish that Versus wouldn't show such a replay becuase it makes everything look like a joke. I mean, it wasn't just a little "gamesmanship" going on, it was a ballista bolt to the spine. Whatever, he will come up short again.

The benefit we have now is that there is that extra day of break before we go back there. Hopefully it will do wonders.

Well all of this worrying and tightness of the series will only make it more satisfying when we finally win! Also, good for the nhl, i guess.

I have never been one to call out players but Stuart, Ericsson and Kronwall have been dreadful. Rafalski looked so bad taking that 1 on 1 against staal that i actually thought it was Hudler until i saw a replay. Not digging at hudler, Raf just looked like a forward playing defense and they are both tiny. Hossa has been too weak on his skates and overall we look like our tank is running on fumes. I won't be terribly worried until the pens have 3 wins but it was bad out there tonight.

I believe the ratings were poor far before everyone started freaking out about officiating.

I am pretty sure all he did was lift his stick. alright, Mickey

EEEE! I've been a huge MSU fan my entire life and have been going to all of the home games for as long as i can remember and it is the most awesome thing ever to have watched him all through college and then see him contribute big time for the wings! Sooo proud.

Phone conversation between Crosby & Sykora

haha that was pretty amusing. I really liked the last line about TAB for some reason. -
The only game that i felt that we were much more often than not on the short end of the poor officiating stick was game 7 against anaheim. I am disregarding the game 3 no goal as i will blame that on the stupid non-reviewable bullcrap. But honestly, I think some people overreact sometimes about the officiating. There h ave been great games and there have been bad games but i think people really go the extra mile to point this stuff out when it isn't needed. I watch most of these games and see some calls i disagree with but it usually doesn't drive me crazy and then i go here and to our opponent's forum and half the fans for whichever team is losing at the time want the ref's head on a pike.

I have thought about this too and i agree. I don't like Byfuglien but that's about it. Like somebody else said, it's their fanbase that i can't stand but only because they hate us so passionately while we never really had a reason to think about them much. I like the chicago team itself but now i love just driving their fans insane. Anaheim though, that's a team where i hate both the players AND the fanbase. I feel that they are our biggest rival right now.
-
I'm pretty sure this kid's just ******* with you guys right now. There is no way that anybody feels this way.

What does the second number mean? Like the size of the market or something?

They play a lot of Metal at Mellon Arena and it's awesome but here the direction is more of music that people will like to sing a lot to or recognize. While some Opeth or Black Dahlia Murder might pump a few of us up, most people wouldn't recognize it or enjoy it. I've noticed that at the Mellon Progenies of the Great Apocalypse is like an anthem practically.
-
I've noticed the hate from chicago all season. I was also a little surprised as the feeling is nowhere near mutual. I think they would have to beat us in the playoffs for wings fans to return any hatred to the blackhawks but WOW do they hate us.

Man, nobody here is giving up the nhl. Yes, the officiating is very frustrating at times but people need to keep in mind that hockey is very fast and things happen so quickly and the refs do not get the benefit of a replay like we do. It's real easy to watch these replays in slow motion then get all up in a frenzy over how weak of a call it was but when refs only get one chance to make these calls, in real time, and from only ONE angle, mistakes are goin to be made. The rule changes after the lockout just really make this much more frequent as officiating became a larger factor in the games. But to suggest that coaches should get "challenges" or that all penalties should be reviewable is complete nonsense. That would be horrendous. Every year we go through this.

You, stop being a ***.

Nothing is wrong with him. The Ducks have his number and obviously pay special attention to him. He's got ducks all over him in the offensive zone and it's frustrating. It's not pavel, it's the ducks and they are doing great job making him a non factor. I really feel that the cure for pavel will be to get away from the ducks.

More than a few caps fans are changing into a new pair of pants before OT starts.

The misconception that Datsyuk and Zetterberg are equal
pirateasaurus replied to JeffBridges's topic in General
Why are people arguing over which of 2 players on our team that any other team would murder to have are better? Hossa7.4 acts like Hank throttled his girlfriend and sister.
