I am sooo with you. I want them to make the playoffs so we can have our revenge but if they won the cup...Id be so pissed. Just had the image of Joe Thornton blowing kisses to the crowd and hoisting the Cup. Puked a bit in my mouth. NASTY!

Come on ....it's not 10 games....he has been the best or in the conversation since 2005. I don't like the kid- he is arrogant and a whiner but when healthy, he is the best player in the NHL. No need for a sample size on that.

Lol....I do often feel that people on these boards are manic depressive. We win 5 in a row and we are the best team ever to play the game. Lose a few and the sky is falling, we will exit the playoffs in the 1 st round and Bertuzzi will be looking for a nursing home in the off season.

We are unhealthy every year at some point...every team is. As for depth, I disagree....we are just as deep as 08 and we are BETTER in net than we have been in 10 years. Howard, when healthy has been awesome. The pp is concerning but it has been all year and we need to work it out. Vancouver isn't a good sized team....they are average and Radulov doesn't scare me....he has played in the KHL for 4 years....look how that worked out for Hudler. Plus, if they bring AR back this year, there goes his intro contract and he won't have any time to gel with his teammates. All I am trying to say is that you can dog this team for it's size or grit or whatever but this team has heart. We may not have the best team but I think this team is tired of going out of the playoffs disappointed and I believe they will rise to the occasion

Yes, that must be why we broke a record with the most consecutive home wins EVER. Yes, we are doomed. The west is very talented and how many of those teams are big physical teams? Vancouver? St. Louis? No. I understand that it's not 2008....but tell me how the 08 team was more skilled? As for the sharks, they aren't a 500 team because they are smaller- they are a 500 team because they are weaker in goal and don't have secondary scoring. I find it frustrating when people chalk up all of this teams woes to us not having a " big " team. We are too old, too slow, too small...too many euros. That's what people have been saying about us since 97 while we were busy winning four cups

Great post......I still have no idea why everyone is on the Hudler hate train since the guy will put up 50 plus pts this year. EVERYONE lives and dies by their line mates....nobody would know is better than whomever is next to Lids on the ice. Franzen is a completely other story because he is lazy and he looks like it's a chore for the guy to be there. He is the most frustrating player to watch. This team needs to get healthy and the coach needs to start sitting people down who won't play. If Franzen won't skate I'd rather see Mursak on the power play......same with everyone on this team

I actually picked Vancouver as our toughest opponent because they play a similiar style of game to us. They aren't overly physical...more of a puck possession team and they can be sooo dangerous. Since Burrows pulled that bullshard on us in the SO win 2 weeks ago, I want to ram a goalie pad down his thoat....BUT, that is nothing for the pure disgust I feel for San Jose. I can't stand Thornton...I used to respect him, him being a local boy but somewhere along the way he became a whiney, embellishing, disgraceful weasel man. I hate how he blows kisses to the fans after a goal (Really JOE...You arent at a Stanley Cup parade) and how he will flap his arms up in the air if he is called for a pentaly ( like he cant BELIEVE the injustice that has just happened to him) The entire team is a classless bunch- they are diver's and they love to cheap shots at us. I want to meet them in the SCF. I want us to run them over. I want Smith and Krons to step up. I want them to punish Thornton and his merry class of clowns....and that manchild Niemi. I want the Sharks and I want tehm to suffer!!! (last sentence was in a very slow and menacing voice! lol)

I have felt that the PK does a pretty good job (compared to the power play) I think most guys will play hard to get it out of the zone and get it deep. My only complaint is that little finesse pass they sometimes do which always seems to lead to a loss of possession and a shot on our net. Get the puck and hammer it OUT of the zone. No need to get style points...just get it the f out!

You can say 13 and 5 but it wasn't clicking before they were injured. I know we lead the league in points by D men, but often times I feel like guys go back to the point instead of taking it inside and roofing the shot. Perhaps it's become second nature to play catch with the blue line but I would like to see them keep it down low. Just a thought.

I think it was reported that it's an ankle issue.....impossible to "heal up" when he is skating every game.

I am sorry but there is a great deal of puck luck, peaking at the right time and mojo that is unable to measure but factors into EVERY Stanley Cup playoff run. Nobody...and I really mean nobody put on a show in 08 like Franzen. The dude was lights out. OT- No problem...Franzen had the answer. Down by one...give it to 93 and in the net. he broke records belonging to Gordie Howe...one of the greatest to play. Its impossible to measure the things that happened in 08 to what is or may happen this year. We certianly didnt win the Cup in 08 because of Franzen but he was a HUGE part of it. He was clutch, 24-7. Everything came together and I felt that we were unbeatable. I think we are peaking at the right time. We need a healthy Dats but the good news...our boys are better in the playoffs than in the reg. season...and that includes Franzen
