Howson looked like a jerk in his press conference and I am sure CBJ team morale is low so I hope the wings come out flying and have a solid THREE period performance tonight. I completely understand and I too feel like we " missed the boat" on some talent, especially in a year that we have cap room. I just feel like it was a really tough trade deadline and teams were expecting ridiculous amounts for third liners...thats all. I obviously want this team to get better but its not like we are rooting for Columbus or something! We have a on of talent and atthe end of the day, we are still a great team!

Kassian was not even playing in the NHL full time when he was aquired. Its not like they just picked up Getzlaf of someone

I am pretty sure that this is the same team ( abeit Quincey) that just ran the table with a record setting 23 games at home. C'me on....this is a great team and the no one in this trade deadline got much better. We could have added some extra pieces but so could have a lot of teams. We dont have the record that we do by being crappy

really bud? REALLY...He has surpassed what ANYONE (besides Eva) thought he would put up. Hudler has been graet for this team for what we pay him. Everyone is disappointed about not getting a big trade deadline but "f*** Holland". How can you possibly say that when ypou have NO IDEA what they were asking for in some of the guys we were asking for. I would have PUKED if we would have given up a 1st and a 4th for Gaustad...Thats a JOKE.

Great post by the OP. nobody is more frustrating to watch than the Mule this year. He has SO much talent and totally looks like he would like to be elsewhere. I was actually impressed when Babs put him down on the third line because he deserves to be demoted. We need the Mule so I hope his ego got a slap from the Avs game and that gets a bee in his bonnet

I know we have all talked about the major players available at the trade deadline and I kinda feel like in the last week or so Holland and the boys have been tidying up loose ends. There is a lot of people available...and detroit, for the 1st time in a long time has some cash to spend. Extending Berts contact and getting Quincey perhaps says to me that the Wings WILL be players on the 27th. We hve heard some discussion about role players like Moen but I have a sneaking suspicion that the organization is looking at someone big ( I am thinking Ryan or Suter) Now that Joey came in and Stole the show, no need to get a back-up. He has been right here all along. I just have asneaking suspicion that something is brewing!Anyone else get that feeling?

I know a lot of ppl joke but I think this effects the D much more than people realize. Quincey still looks nervous and Kindl and Commie are streaky at best. E eats up a ton of minutes, plays the PK and has been solid for the team. I know all the Ericsson haters will be thrilled but I think it will effect the team with the lines and chemistry....I think it's a loss Heal up Big Rig

I actually don't hate Samuelsson and I am not a bashed....hate is a strong word. I also am not ridin' the Sammy hate train. I have never been a fan...and all I said was that Hudler (IMO) is a better player than Sammy now. I think you agreed with me when you said " Hudler> Samuelsson probably mostly BC of the age difference" I think we can find a better fit with another player

I disagree with your mplications! Lol. Well, Hudler is younger and you may have used that argument about Florida 5 years ago, the current team is LEADING their division. The idea that you named Sammy as a sniper is a bit of a stretch, unless taking out the logo gets points. Think what you want but I think Hudler offers more to this team than Sammy does and I still say HUDLER> SAMMUELSON

NO WAY! Happy is 36 pts in 61 games and a plus 5 Sammy is only 18 pts in 32 games..and a 0 for plus/minus Hudler is a better playmaker than sammy ever was. Zetty, before last nights miss was 50 percent...why pull him? As for Huds,we need either Flip or Franzen to shoot. Fil's got some shake and bake when he has time. Oddly enough, Kronwall is a very decent shot...Id consider him in the 5th spot

When I started the thread I was thinking someone midrange....but now I feel like we may be making a run at someone like Selanne, Carter, Nash, Ryan or Suter.I just have a feeling. Not sure what I would want to see coming back this way but just a hunch. At times we have dried up offensively this year...one of these big boys and WOW.....all the way! Anyways glad most of you are thing their is some potential for a significant move....I would really love to spend some of that extra cap money, stick it to SJ and win another cup!

I don't think that has anything to do with it. The guy finally has some consistent line mates, has had some time to adjust to the NHL and had a summer to get in the best shape of his career. He is playing the best hockey of his career and I think he provides the most value for the buck. Everyone who constantly calls out for him to be traded needs to look at what he has done this year for the team. He has been great!

This to me all but confirms that Carter is going somewhere else. I am sure that Part of Nash's negotiations were that management bring in some more talent for him to play with. Along comes Carter and it's a bust. If I am Nash and I know they are shopping the guy that is supposed to help me bring some wins to the team, I am pissed....and I have had enough. I think this was just a matter of time. Nash played hard for the franchise but WTF....he is dying there. As for his NTC I am sure that his list of potential destinations are slim but I would also be very surprised if Detroit wasn't on his wish list. I think they are going to blow the entire team up and start again.
