Yeah, someday- but not tonight...he's very green. I was more commenting on the fact that the young guys DESPITE their errors have done very well -

Lashoff is not an NHL guy..he's an AHL guy so we can't be too hrsh..All in all, the young bucks played a REALLY solid period of hockey against a "stacked" pre-season leaf team -
I totally recommend it. If you think about the cost and divide it by 9 months for everyday hockey, its a small price to pay. They also usually show the best streams AND lately, they have been showing pre-season hockey. I missed 2 Wings games last year...only because I was away for the weekend. I even PVR'ed the game I missed when I was in labor having my son ( now THAT is dedication!) If you love hockey, not just Wings hockey, its the only way to go (especially to see small venue teams like Tampa that are rarely shown on NBC or Versus.

I agree- Meech is a utility guy..He cleared waivers- Kindl wouldn't. Kindl is a better D man and althoght Meech is useful because you can slot him in anywhere, Kindl is better on the blueline

Lils got a a goal last night for SJ! Good on him!

Ok seriously...He was BRUTAL tonight...and I think this is the 1st "hate post" I have done about Big E but &^$@^, he is going to loose his spot if this keeps up. He has to stop thinking he is Lidstrom out there, using his stick to try and poke the puck away and ******* crush someone with his big body. Twice tonight I saw him BEHIND the NYR net..... Step up or step out

Hey Buddy- I just have 7 things to say: Neimi Byfuglien Versteeg Barker Eager Sopel Huet Good luck with your "repeat romance"

Leino was in the right place and the righ time with the flyers. He added some points and had some fortuitous bounces BUT if you look at the tape of the cup finals...Leino couldnt stay on the puck and was really guilty of bad turnovers- that part got overlooked because he was putting up points. He didn't fit here- I dont miss him a bit...and now that Huds is back, I REALLY dont miss him.

I actually think Tampa will make the playoffs this year. They have gobs of talent...and now that they have tightened up on the D, I think the X factor is Dan Ellis. I think they have a definate shot! Edmonton, who finished last in the NHL will make big strides but I think it will be a year or so. I also think the Maple Laughs are going in the right direction, but not enough to grab 8th spot.

The only place I can see it is the NHL network- hope that helps

Owen's impressed me last night- Obviously, the brass want to see a bit more of him tonight! DETROIT -- Here is the Detroit Red Wings lineup -- line combinations, defense pairings and goaltenders -- for Saturday's preseason game in Chicago (8 p.m., NHL Network): Jordan Owens-Valtteri Filppula-Todd Bertuzzi Drew Miller-Justin Abdelkader-Francis Pare Jamie Tardif-Cory Emmerton-Jan Mursak Tomas Tatar-Joakim Andersson-Aaron Downey Brad Stuart-Jonathan Ericsson Doug Janik-Brendan Smith Jakub Kindl-Logan Pyett Chris Osgood Thomas McCollum Lots of Young bucks getting a chance to show off their skill! It will be interesting to see them play as Chicago will have their big boys in tonight.

I thought it was great...and actually a game like that will build confidence for the prospects. They hung with the Hawks big boys for the entire game. Guys like Owens, Mursak, Emmerton should feel very good about the way they performed. Good job mini wings! -
I love Flip too! I am actually excited to see him play tonight without the "big boys". He had a great camp and I agree...he is definately coming into his own. I imagine we will see lots of physical play tonight

I kinda feel bad for the team tonight...lol

This is our C team! lol! We are soooo deep this year! -
Just to make a point off of what a few of you touched on. I really think Bert went through some emotional s*** after that Moore incident. Lets face it- even if you are a badass, you have to feel terrible about being involved in ending someone's career and almost his life. Bert was villianized for a few years later and I think the league also watched him like a hawk, making him out to be the "blind hit assasin". It DID affect his physical presense...how could going through something like that not effect you? That being said, he has played clean, done his pentance with the league and now he is probably feeling like he can utilize his size and physical game again. Its an aspect of his game that makes him an asset. Good to see Bert going back to the kind of hockey player he can be at his age. I like Bert in Detroit and supported his return but my respect level just went up a notch or two. Thumbs up Big Bert
