This feels very different to me than it did last year.... I predicted that Osgood would start after Hasek blew in the Nashville series last year and once we rebounded from the Preds it seemed like everything clicked. I totally believed that we would win the cup and facing the Pens didn't worry me (although I was outnumbered as a fan because everyone was dished out the manlove to Cindy). With that being said, this year I took a lot of stock in the regular season. I was leary of our defensive play. I was doubtful that Osgood would be able to "flip a switch" and become the goalie he was last year. I feared Mason and Columbus...but Osgood was AMAZING and my confidence in my beloved Wings grew. Do I think we can beat the Pens? Absolutely. Do I think it will be a harder road this year? Absolutely. The Pens have a good team and even though I LOATHE s***tsburg, you have to respect them. The young guns are older and Malkin is a total presense this year. I actually think that Bylsma may work in our favor. He has never coached at this level and he has had time to think...OMG, I could win a Stanley Cup". Babs will outcoach him...and at the end of the day, our blueline is better than theirs...and Defense wins Cups! Go Wings! Wings in SIX!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, i would way rather see Lils in there than Cheli. Lilja can block shots, he is a big boy who's strong on the body and is awesome on the PK. Cheli, IMO turns it over consistantly and he is way too slow. I hope we see Lils before the playoffs are done!

Too bad- i enjoyed watching him play and I thought he showed a great deal of leadership with the young guys on the Caps this year Good luck 91!

I think he was the target of a lot of aggressive BS in the Dirty Ducks series and probably hasnt been 100% since. I would be surprised if he has been hurt. Love ya Pavs...get well soon

Umm, Hossa scores 40 goals a year...about the same amount of times Sammy coughs up the puck a game. I know that he has had a solid playoff and has played well post-season but honestly, he is brutal on the PP and PK and makes poor decisions EVERY game. Hossa- a ghost yes, but they aren't even comparable as players

This is the 1st game that he looked a little loose to me...but man, thats pretty good. We have talled about MOST players not having their best game so its pretty awesome that this is the 1st thread about the Big Rig. He will be fine....I dont think Lebda is the right match for him, but he will be just fine...I agree that when he plys aggressive, the plays a better game. This kid is going to be awesome

Are you kidding me??? Z is the THIRD best forward on this team...thats a joke. As for the "Its not that much of a deal for Z at 6 mill...Its the best deal that the Wings have made in years. He is worth every cent and would have fetched 7 million ++ on the open market. I get a little sentimental when i think of why I am a Red Wings Fan! As a 38 year old professional woman, who drives around with a Wings flag on her car..I get this question alot! The Wings remind me of a family and a sense of togetherness- both in the organization and on a personal level. I was born and spent the first 5 years of my life in Windsor, ONTARIO. I remember my dad listening to the Wings and Tigers games on WJR radio as a youngster. He would tell stories of going to the Olympia and see Howe and the Production line..even having a beer with "the boys" one night at the Tunnel BBQ. It was kind of a bonding experience, hearing those stories, when none of my other siblings seemed all that interested. We moved 2 hours outside Windsor when I was 6 but spent many weekends in Windsor with my dads work or seeing relatives. Since the games were always on, I started to ask questions about everything from some of the players to what an "offside" was. Of Course, being a Canadian kid, HNIC was a ritual on saturday nights and pretty soon I was following right along. That turned into collecting wings Cards and following "my team" like it was a religion. It was the one thing that my Dad and I could always talk about. At different times in my life our relationship has been strained...but even in the face of any family crisis or difficult time, i could always say " Wow, did you see Kocur's fight last night" or "I am glad Yzerman got the OT winner" and that always brought us together in some way. The Wings are like a big family and thats the way Mr. and Mrs. I have treated it...and thats the way I feel about it too. Hockey can bring people together. Thats why I love the Wings and bleed the Winged Wheel Wings in six...Lets go Boys!!!

It was a really good article and, like you, I hope we can keep him around. Huds is a 60 pt player- perhaps more because we have yet to see his potential ...and what he has been able to do for this team, playing on the 3rd line, has been amazing. Look at the stats and they state that per minute, he was the most efficent player on the Wings (IE: Ice time VS Points) The guy goes to an average hockey team ( Dallas, Nashville ect) and he plays on the top or 2nd line for sure. I hope we can keep him. He is a diamond in the rough...
