The avalanche announcers think the rivalry is still what is was, after all these years I can't get over how bad those 2 are at calling games.

I don't see anyway the wings come out flat in this one. To me this game is set up perfectly for the steak to be broken, the wing have gotten momentum in the last 4 games since the losing streak and are playing the best hockey of the season. And the hawks have been getting a lot of lucky bounces and going to overtime a lot. I say the Wings take this one 4-2 with Pavel getting his first career regular season hat-trick. You have to think the wings have been focused on this one since flight home from California.

Just need Phoenix to lose an we stay there till tomorrow. Who are they playing?.........Calgary?.........6th place it is!

I'm not sure how it would help the game any. Any close goals are already reviewed and if they were to challenge an offsides or icing it wouldn't really matter all that much. The only thing that would have an affect on the game is if they were able to challenge penalty calls, and I would imagine the officials would be very much against that since a percentage of those are opinion based anyways.

Why is this thread here? Does nobody realize the wings are only 4 points behind Nashville who are 4th in the west. I know they can't buy a win right now but if they go on a 4 or 5 game winning steak and a few teams go on a skid and the wings will be right back in the playoffs

Coaches in any sport have a shelf life. Has Babcock reached his? Ruff is a good coach but after that many years the players got tired of the same message so he got the boot(new owners probly had a lot to so with but not all of it). Babcock is one of the top 3 coaches in the nhl and with how the wings ice the same team year after year the message that he is sending might be falling on deaf ears. Injuries and retirements are a big reason why we are currently on a skid and out of the playoffs but we are far enough into the season that the team should be way more organized, disciplined, and better on special teams. I think babs is the best coach for this team and I hope he stays for a while longer but if the team gets healthy and everything else stays the same it might be time for him to go.
