They can be the most exciting part of any game so put any that you can find here. I'll start by putting a few of my favorites.

The infamous one where the clock stopped.
-
Burt and Helm are out indefinitely, those two are the key to the wings making the playoffs. If they miss to much time we will struggle to be in the top 8. We can't make the playoffs in late feb/early march but we can miss them.

Anyone else getting pissed that the Wings can't hold leads

Pav-Z-Brunner together to start the game

This is the first road non-divisional game the wings have played this year

Last Wing to win it was Roger Crozier in 1964-65

Anyone else watching on NHLN annoyed that there is no clock for the penalty time?

<blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="LeftWinger" data-cid="2345224" data-time="1358912222">
All due respect to Budd and his WWII heroism and decades of work in the organization, but there come a time when change is needed from the top to the bottom... Holmstrom retired today, the last of the dynasty, its time for a new beginning...but this organization refuses to change. That is why you will see the same old crap at the Joe and the same junky music and the same type of players....its over, the dynasty is over, let go. I am sure Budd wouldn't mind, nor his family. Time to stop talking about history and tradition, what did it get us last summer, no UFA's of significance, no players who mean anything want to come here anymore....Detroit has worn out its welcome in the NHL and yet they still keep going back to the same well....let it go....Hey dude, my grandfather was a war hero too, he is dead, I let him go, I don't go around playing tapes of him talking...life goes on..time to move on from Budd, Karen, Stanley the Octopus and Hey Hey Hockeytown...

You know what your absolutely right, while we're at it lets get rid of all the championship banners and un-retire everybody's numbers, especially the guys that played in the 50's cuz that was 2 dynasties ago and thats kind of embarrassing. And make sure we cancel the ceremony we are going to have for Lidstrom next year cuz it's all about the new era. Thanks for opening my mind.

<blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="LeftWinger" data-cid="2345053" data-time="1358909050">
are they still using a recording of Budd Lynch saying Last minute to go? If so, gimme a freakin break! Let go already! This is a new era! This is jsut an example of how this organization works....never let go of the past! Holland is still running his team this way! He still thinks he can win with mostly Euros....

Hey look, goal.....

Wow, I really hope you are joking because they are doing that to honor Bud and his decades of work with the organization. How disreapectful of you to say something like that.

It's weird having good news on the injury front.

Looks like wade redden is going to get bought out soon, 1 year $750k. Low risk big reward
-
With 12 of first 19 at home that sets the wings up perfectly to be dead tired in time for the playoffs to start

Back to bak games in anaheim? Not sure how accurate this schedule is
-
With it looking like there will be a 48 game season, 50 games still possible but unlikely at this point, is it possible for guys like Stamkos, Ovechkin, Malkin, etc to hit the 50 in 50 mark? A lot of the big scorers the league has have been playing overseas for a while and should be in mid season form.
-
Cap geek tweeted that wade reddens cap hit would count against the rangers cap even if he is in the minors. I'm sure he was going to get bought out any way but his seals the deal now.
-
The league wanted teams to build contenders by drafting and developing their own guys and that is in full swing now. I think that the days of top players leaving as UFAs or getting taken by offer sheets are mostly gone, not completely, but for the most part. Holland and Babcock saw this coming a mile away and that is why they have been so conservative when it comes to big time trades. Every team has a list of players they will keep even if it means sacrificing depth to do so.

I think with as many HOFers the Wings have produced only the elite of the elite should get their numbers in the rafters. And I agree, the lockout would cast a huge shadow over the celebration of one of the classiest athletes ever. I have no problem waiting a year, it will give me more time to get excited about it.

Just a thought I had: I know that this is nearly impossible to get organized, but what if no fans showed up to the first home game for every team? It would get everyone's attention that the fans are the real bosses.

Players That Never Played in Detroit
Wings4Life19 replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
Scott Stevens and Ray Bourque. Lidstrom-Bourque Vladdy-Stevens The wings would have won 60+ games and every cup for 5 years with that top 4 -
Can anyone think of another player that had a career that was anywhere close to want Homer had? I don't remember anyone else that didn't have a ton of skills yet spent most of their career on the top line and played regularly on the power play. He took a beating every game he played yet rarely missed any. And to me I always thought he was going to fall down every time he skated with the puck. We have to thank Scotty for seeing what a unique talent he was and putting him in situations that made him successful. If you think about it he was a big reason that our defenses through the years put up as many points as they did. Who knows how many fewer points they would have if Homer wasn't as good at screening goalies and defecting pucks as he was.

I think they would do themselves a lot of good if they looked at what the NFL Network is doing. They still have most of there normal programming on during the offseason. NFL Total Access is there main show and it runs Monday through Friday year round with actual people bringing you the news live no matter how slow it was. They do excellent coverage of the draft and free agency, and they seem to find some of the most entertaining people to bring you highlights on Sundays(Rich Eisen, Dion Sanders, Warren Sapp). I think the only time I watch the NHL Network is when I want to see highlights and game recaps at the end of the night, when they are showing a wings game or any other game that interests me, or the draft/free agency coverage. I think the only time I watch durring the off season/lockout is when they show some wings stuff that they haven't shown 1,000 times already.

If its available in your area you should get the NHL Network. They are showing a lot of playoff games from the last few years as well as the Winter Classics durring the lockout. That should give you lots of examples for the rules and general flows of games and get you ready for live action when the league comes back
