Um, I've posted LESS comments about him leaving then other people. I was over it before the final decision was made....I was just making a comparison, no need to be rude...I would've F'N gone to Russia too.....Now the capspace is open for this Eaves guy and possibly more since we signed him for $500K.....player wise, I don't agree with, cap situation, I say good job. My post wasn't even about Hudler....it was mostly about the contradiction of the damn article & similarities of the two.....and I just so happened to end it with.."....what do I know, I'm just a Hudler fan......" again-making a joke....apparently I will now need to right (making joke/being sarchastic) when I am meaning it that way. There was no frustration in any of that.....just making a statement. So thank you for letting me to know I need to get over it......I was a long time ago though......if you notice, I haven't posted much lately.........

from MLive http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/08/re...rick_eaves.html Eaves is only 25 and has four NHL seasons under his belt but he's struggled to reach the potential he displayed in his rookie season with the Ottawa Senators, where he had 20 goals and 29 points in 58 games back in 2005-06. Injuries and inconsistent play have dogged him since then. Last season with Carolina he had only 6 goals and 14 points in 74 games. He has the potential to be a top six forward and playing with the Red Wings this could be his best chance to get his NHL career back on track. The Sports Forecaster: RW/LW Patrick Eaves Age: 25 Date of birth: May 01, 1984 Place of birth: Calgary, Alta., Canada Ht: 5-11 Wt: 190 Shoots: R Salary: $1,100,000 NHL Seasons: 4 Drafted by Ottawa in 2003 (1/29). ASSETS: Is an excellent skater and fore-checker. Anticipates plays well at both ends of the ice, and displays all-around ability. Owns intriguing scoring upside. FLAWS: Still needs more bulk in order to thrive at the NHL level. Could use more fine-tuning in all aspects of the game. CAREER POTENTIAL: Top six winger. So, he anticipates plays well at both ends, and displays all-around ability, but could use more fine-tuning in all aspects of the game.......isn't that what they call a "contradiction"? WOW REALLY?! - Top 6 forward potential, eh? Most of that description sounds a lot like another player I know..........NHL career back on track.......how 'bout getting someone that is already on track to make up for our losses. Most posters have said "nice signing"....cap wise, I agree....skill wise......hmmm....think Holland could have done better. Hudler was frowned upon for being greedy, but Holland is awarded praise for signing a young, previously injured, inconsistent 5'11 190lb forward........ok....sounds like a good deal to me..... But what do I know, I'm a Happy Hudler fan........

MODS-can you merge this one and the other with the actual data $5.75M deal......????? Please.....

Sportsnet: Hudler awarded 2 year deal 5m total; Still KHL bound

Oh no no no.....I will NEVER sell! LOL! That's my first Wings jersey and I am still and always will be a Huds fan! Thanks though! -
http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...hudler_two.html Arbiter awards Jiri Hudler two-year $5.75 million contract with Red Wings, still Russia-bound by Ansar Khan Monday August 03, 2009, 11:16 AM Jiri Hudler was awarded a two-year contract worth $5.75 million ($2.75 million the first season and $3 million the second season) through arbitration. That is the contract he must honor if and when he returns to the NHL, as the Red Wings will maintain his rights. But it has no bearing on the two-year, $10 million (tax-free) contract Hudler signed with the Russian league's Moscow Dynamo on July 8. The 25-year-old forward will play in Russia next season. The Wings hope he will return in a year or two to play for them. In effect, the Wings and Hudler agreed to the deal before last Thursday's arbitration hearing. But lawyers for both sides still went through the process. Hudler didn't want the Kontinental Hockey League to think he got an NHL contract through negotiation, possibly jeopardizing his deal with Dynamo. He wanted it done through arbitration, since the KHL has taken the stance that restricted free agents, even if they file for arbitration, don't have a contract and are thus free to sign in Russia. The Wings aren't sure if Hudler will ever return to the NHL, but they believe his KHL contract contains an out clause after one year. "We'd like to have Jiri in a Red Wings uniform this year, but ultimately we negotiated a number we could live with,'' Wings general manager Ken Holland said. "We think this deal is the best deal we could have hoped for in an arbitration hearing.'' Hudler eventually will be placed on the suspended list and his salary won't count against the cap. The Wings have between $2 million and $3 million under the cap, depending on a number of variables (whether Andreas Lilja is ready to start the season, whether Justin Abdelkader will start the season in Grand Rapids, whether they trade a defenseman). Holland said he continues talking with agents in an effort to sign one or two forwards before training camp. They have a one-year offer on the table to Jason Williams, who continues to explore other options. Other offensive-minded forwards available include Alex Tanguay, Petr Sykora, Todd Bertuzzi, Mike Comrie, Vinny Prospal, Maxim Afinogenov and possibly Mats Sundin. Also, if the Rangers walk away from Nikolai Zherdev's arbitration award (one year for $3.9 million), he will become an unrestricted free agent and might draw interest from the Wings. There it is plain & simple. I will miss him....I know so many of you won't and that's ok. At least I won't have to defend his scrawny butt next season! That means no arguments with Left Winger....damn, what ever shall I do?!

I have a Hudler jersey......... Guess I better hang it up to rest...... Never a 30 goal scorer? Come on....that's only 7 more than last season.... I will miss him. Off to get a new jersey I suppose. -
Think about what you just said.......... "essentially the same player" ..........then add "for only $.5M less than what the Wings offered Hudler.... If more effort would have been put in to keeping Hudler (IMO) before Leino was signed, none of this would be happening and no one would be waiting around to see what happens and who the Wings are getting instead of Hudler.
-
Well, I could just make something up, that way it would give people something to argue about. LOL! But you're right....until that day, there isn't much to say about it anymore.

Haha...thanks i guess! But my reply was taken out of context...I was merely saying why the hell would you move Cleary DOWN to the 3rd line...can people not read what he f'n said?! Or what I wrote for that matter! Cleary is my #2 player....I think--I don't know maybe Lids is #2 -- I get confused sometimes! HAHA! But yeah, basically I was trying to be funny when saying why move Cleary down and yes, if most think Huds isn't good enough to play on the 2nd and they say Leino is, then they are saying Leino is more experienced and a better all around playing.... There does that statement require me to take a valium?!?! Just b/c I make words bigger and put lots of funny faces and write the word shananigans and nonsense--is not any reason to tell me to chill out.....sheeeesh....it was a joke! And I'M the one that needs a valium.....HMPH! I'm sorry you can't laugh at jokes for those of you that are so damn mean! Be nice...its summer time!
-
WHAT?! Cleary on line 3? Leino on line 2? You honestly think that Leino-Franzen-Fils is a good line....for Line #2......REALLY??? Leino on line 2 but Huds wasn't good enough for #2 and you want to move Cleary to #3.......what kinda shananigans are you trying to pull??? Why don't you just put Abby on line #1 and bring back Cheli and put him there as well...and Z & Dats on #4.......ah hell.....let's just go ahead and put the younger kids all on 1 & 2 and bring those "experienced" players down to 3 & 4.... That is insanely insane nonsense!

it is...i agree!

What he said......

LOL!...it's because I emailed him asking to help with the debate....this is his response AK Khan to me show details 12:48 PM (1 hour ago) Reply The league tells me the Wings CAN trade Hudler after accepting arbitrator's decision. Ansar Khan I didn't think Id actually get a reply that fast! So yes they can trade.....BUT--Huds has showed he doesn't want to play for another team...so do you think that Holland would trade him? In the beggining he seemed as though money was set aside for him--maybe it wasn't the money that Hudler was turning down, but only a 5 year contract.....it is another thing to think about before everyone get's all "Hudler's greedy ass"..... I sooooo want him to stay...but honestly, more ice time for that amount of money.....that's not a bad decision on his part---more ice time = better skating skills and speed.....it's not like he'll get worse over there......if he can't play with the Wings this year...it leaves them w/ a little money and if everyone is so GAGA over freakin' Leino....then what's the deal w/ being all pissy towards Huds.....he only wants to play for Detroit and people call him and ass.....but other players ONLY want money or ONLY want to play for teams that can win the cup...and yet...their winning the poll on "who you'll miss the most"....so that's just craziness from some of you.

Man.....and I finally decided on who's jersey to get! LOL!

.....adding to that confusion....... http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2009/07/th...ion_wicket.html The sticky arbitration wicket for the Red Wings, Jiri Hudler Posted by George James Malik July 16, 2009 14:49PM Per the New York Times' Jeff Z. Klein, KHL president Alexander Medvedev has suggested that the KHL will honor the ruling made by the IIHF's court of arbitration regarding Red Wings forward Jiri Hudler's ability to sign with Dynamo Moscow despite his status as a restricted free agent who filed for salary arbitration... But, depending on your CBA point of view, Red Wings' contractual hands are either tied until the IIHF rules, or they may very well find themselves tied to Hudler as soon as the arbitration hearing takes place on the 31st. The Globe and Mail's James Mirtle offers the former opinion... July 16, From the Rink: Hudler's arbitration hearing is scheduled for July 31, but if the KHL's waiting on the Red Wings to walk away from an arbiter's award, they're likely to be SOL. Only in very rare cases do NHL clubs walk away from a decision, and even though a large award to Hudler would put Detroit over the salary cap, they can simply agree to the deal and trade him for other, less expensive assets. Hudler gets his money, gets out of Detroit and stays in the NHL, while the Red Wings don't lose him for nothing. Even if they only pull in draft picks or depth prospects for his rights, that's preferable to an outright defection, and to me, that looks like where we're headed. While MLive.com's own Ansar Khan argues the latter point: July 16, MLive.com: The Wings' last offer to the 25-year-old forward was a five-year deal worth $3 million a season. They will continue talks with Hudler's agent in hopes of avoiding the arbitration hearing. If the case goes to arbitration, Hudler will be awarded a one- or two-year contract. If the Wings choose to accept it, they cannot trade him for one year. From what I understand regarding the arbitration process, the Red Wings have the right to say, "Okay, we're going to work out a sign-and-trade deal so that we'll trade your rights to a team which will accept the offer on our behalf."

Hell-works for me!

......and then go ahead and count the goal as good! LOL! Sorry-had to add!

NHL asks IIHF, KHL to negate Hudler's KHL Contract

-Agreed.....argue with his decision, no.....but I can still be pissy! LOL! He proved he was....and at only 25......has plenty of time to develope defensively......a few hours in the gym a day isnt that hard...... -
