Also with fanfest, I think this season them getting screwed over with the schedule doesn't help.

Wow that sucks. I've seen some pics and there were a pretty good number of people for game 6, but it didn't look like many at all for game 4. Remember, this does cost Olympia money, they have to pay all the people to come in and work, and if only 2-4,000 people show, they will take a loss. Now, I'm as mad as anyone, but I'm just looking at it from a cost perpective with how many people actually go.

If we could get CBC in Grand Rapids, that's what would be on. Instead, I'm stuck with Nothing But Crosby. Ugh, at least I can mute it and put Ken Kal on.

This season has forced me to be. If I do not go for a 2.5+ mile run on a playoff gameday, we lose. Sun, rain, snow or sleet. I must sacrifice for the glory of Hockeytown and I am MORE THAN WILLING!!!

I know it sucks, but I'd rather have the media pumping Crosby and his bit$hes and to have us kick the living peep out of them and see what they're saying a week from now.

So where's the "#### Posts for a game 1 SCF Victory!" Thread? Less than 24 hours away, I thought there would have been one underway by now. Or...is it bad luck for the finals??

Fine, I will!!!! GO WIIINNGGSS!!!

Gotta win one at the Joe, and if we split at home, the loss has to be close. I'm nervous and confident all at the same time. Oddly, I really don't know what to expect.

I would personally like this !$$face to get stuck in an elevator with Downey, Mac and Kocur. UNLIKE Vladdy, this gutless terd wouldn't live to tell his tale.

I don't know. I hate waiting sooooooo long between series (if they indeed only win one game against Pitt). However, it would give our injured soldiers time to heal....hmmmm.

WCF GAME 4 GDT: Red Wings 6, at Blackhawks 1
grindlinelove replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
What happened today is what I had been hoping for all series. We played 60 minutes in all aspects of the game. We came out of the gates playing very well and getting shots to the net with pressure. On top of that for the first time all series we got the first goal. Key when playing on the road in front of 22,000+! By playing our game, we eventually frustrated and got in the heads of a young, inexperienced and un-disciplined team. Chicago is lucky we only hung 6 on them. -
Greetings from the Mitten! Opposing fans are always welcome as long as they are here for the right reasons. First off, I'm from W. Michigan, Bylsma's home turf, and he's one hell of a guy/coach! I respect him 210% more than Therrien. Stand up, doesn't act out, classy, etc. Second, Malkin and Crosby scare the hell out of me right now. No matter who they play, they just seem to have, or create, all the time and space they need to make it happen. Finally, let's finish the WCF/ECF and not start tempting the bad JuJu!! We're somewhat superstitious around these here parts, lol.

No joke. It will be odd not seeing number five back there, and instead in the rafters.

Man, that's a funny question considering he's once again a finalist for the Norris. He's not fast, but the chances he can create from the blue line are awsome. Look at all those assists. Thos plays need to be created from somewhere. I'm not even touching his defensive skills.

We're getting it done even with Pav in an attrocious scoring drought. That only speaks to our teams DEPTH!! This team is built with the forethought that one player, or even two, can't carry the team in scoring. Franzen, Cleary, Zetter, on and on. Look at the level of play of our Griffins guys, Helm and Ericcsson. If we keep this up with the rest of the team scoring, and Pav finally opens up, may God have mercy on our opponent....

Well, we now have a new opponent. Maybe a new look will spring Datsyuk to life. I mean, two playoff rounds he's been silent...soooo theory would say that when he breaks out, it's gonna be a BIIIG game. Let's see the little freak get loose Sunday!

This thread is full of epic WIN. Let's go big red machine!

Hey all. Long-time lurker, first time poster. Watched the Wings since early childhood(very early 90's). Having played amatuer and HS has also helped give me insight on the matter I'm about to rant about. Ever since I've been watching the Wings, I've noticed two styles of play. It has a large determining factor in how easily we win obviously. Today was such a stark contrast, I am compelled to post. When we are playing the lazy, "let our talent win" style, like we did from 2003 to 2007, we fail to make good, clean, effective breakouts. We do not possess the puck for more than one or two passes, our transition game is horrifying. We are flat-footed, and think the puck will come to us. The cycle in the OZ is non-existant. No puck, no cycle. This is the game we played for the first two periods today, and a couple minutes in overtime. When we are on "our" game, we are the best puck possession team in the league. Hence the best PP in league this season. The boys can move the puck like wizards, set up chance after chance after chance. Never giving the opposing goalie a breather. When we gain control of the puck in our own end, the result is a quick and effective breakout and transition. The speed and intensity start high and builds with each goal. This is the game we played in the third period and most of the overtime session today. The first two periods today cost us the game. They really have a switch, the it's been all over the place lately. I don't get it.

Another thing we did today that cost us it seemed. Small, but it can add up. We tried to get too cute on some of our BIG scoring chances. Case in point: Helm's breakaway. I wouldn't choose a tight playoff game as the time to see if I can pull the string and make a Datsyuk move. I know it's nit-picking, my apologies.

Whenever you hear these desperate, jealous souls barking the party line, just think about: The packed JLA rafters The history The Hall-of-Famers The fact that we have what is really the best and most storied NHL tradition in the octopus The intensity of our fan-base The hockey-knowledge of our fan-base compared to the majority of others The SIZE of our fan-base and how far it goes Sit back and smile, and revel that there will be a thousand red jerseys at PONDA Tuesday night. WE ARE EVERYWHERE.
