Kariya does that to pretty much every team. That's why the rest of the league prays for his annual injury to come sooner.
-
Kariya's making that last shot against any other goaltender in the league. That one wasn't Ozzie's fault. Maybe you guys would like to try Toronto's current goaltender, then you'd know what BAD is all about.
-
Hey, there's Kariya asking why all Detroit's high sticks aren't being called. He's a good conversationalist...
-
Maybe they think the team has Communist ties.
-
Not much he could have done there, it was a good feed.

I don't know, he made some great saves in the first two periods. He wasn't the difference maker, but I don't think the loss falls on him either. He gave his team a chance. But Chicago has outright said: we're going to win with a high-powered offense. Florida's goaltender didn't allow that high-powered offense a chance to make a difference. It was just a well played game by Florida, not a failure by Huet per se.
-
Oh, oh, gotcha. No, that's totally true. But I hate San Jose. So let me gloat. Hehe.
-
Huge win for Florida. Voukon looked awesome.
-
Shootouts. Then Detroit up next!
-
Chicago hasn't really seemed much different than before. Huet has looked pretty sharp though. If he plays up to his potential, Chicago will definitely be a good squad. Florida has looked impressive though. Voukon has played real well, I've thought. edit: Florida just tied it up again. A good game thus far.

Damn. I thought he was cool. Oh well. This is a good opening lineup. I wonder how Bert will do.
-
Fighting and an OT point. Better than nothing.

Did I miss what the f*** Detroit did with that Helm kid?
-
Anderson (is that right?) was pretty ******* solid in goal. I thought the entire Avs lineup just looked more prepared to play. San Jose...they looked teh sux. Heatley can't backcheck worth s***. Their D looked tired. Thornton was just ok, but he can't do everything. And their former captain...still clearly leads the team.
-
I think he collided with his own goalie, according to TSN. Maybe I mis-read that though. Real tough break for the Habs. I hope they lose to my Leafs, but not through injury.
-
Kane had a good breakaway. Frolik's goal for Florida just now was beautiful -- great passing too. Credit Huet for one helluva attempt though. It was just too good a shot.

For me that feed is kind of choppy. There's one on ustream.tv (found through myp2p.eu) that is smoother...not as crisp though.

Found a good one through myp2p.eu.

I want to see the Bruins win. I want my Leafs to win...or kick people's asses, whatever. I want the Nucks to ice Phaneuf, because that guy's a sissylala. And I want the cellar-dwelling Avs to knock around Heatley for being a whiny *****.

Kind of surprised so many of you are that high on San Jose. They added one superstar but lost (at least) three valuable contributing depth guys. As of last week, they didn't even have a full roster, and the folk they are filling spots with aren't necessarily improvements over what they iced last year. And as Detroit knows firsthand, depth is what makes good teams great. Additionally, San Jose only won the President's Trophy because the Pacific turned into a terrible division last season. They didn't even end the season winning -- they were losing with teams like Anaheim being red hot. I think San Jose falters and flops this year. They will make the playoffs, but if they meet Vancouver, Detroit, or Anaheim again, I just don't see them having the necessary grit and depth to get past any of those three. Heatley can only do so much, but they lost a lot of pieces to get him there.

Balsillie was essentially trying to hijack a team and transplant it in a different market. I agree that there should be some more Canadian teams, but Balsillie's plan wasn't ever going to land a team in Hamilton. (He's failed at it, what, three times now?) He keeps trying to go around having to work with the league. While I hate the NHL most of the time, the fact that 30 different teams and owners work together to make my favorite sport happen each year matters to me. No, I don't want some maverick ******* moron who thinks HE runs s*** ******* everything else up. Not to mention, every other NA sporting league was on the NHL's side. Hell, even I was on its side, and I loathe Bettman. This is a "no bid" on paper, but in reality, the NHL retains the club and another BK solution has to be found -- the good thing is, the club has to go through the courts for a sale, which means a fair sale will happen. (As opposed to the NHL choosing who to pay and when.)

Judge Baum is the ******* man.

Anaheim scores again. Wow. Good answer back. This Farjestad team has done pretty well up against the Wings.

#35 with a huge save!
