Cougar to Falcons to Wings

You can charter Air Canada aircraft which is what the sports teams do. They use the same aircraft that is part of the the Air Canada fleet. They are then able to have them land at multiple airports. It's cheaper to charter the planes for several cities rather than pay for a one-way charter. The airline still charges the "renter" to return the aircraft to its home airport. This does not just effect the teams... I can tell you from personal experience that the dedicated following of sports teams will charter planes, trains, and automobiles as well. The worst of it is when there is a game location decided at the last minute --- most flights will already be booked or airfares will be beyond outrageous, so it becomes more cost effective to charter planes. I have some people in my "office" that are still having issues with chartering these flights. They've been working on charters for the Olympics and are still not being given the all-clear. I'll put a call in to my AC rep and see what they have to say...

I was just wondering if anyone can confirm that Bettman was in Pittsburgh tonight? I know that he was in Phoenix today for the court hearings regarding the Coyote's bankruptcy and was wondering if he ever made it to Pittsburgh. If he didn't, and the Wings had won the cup, who would have presented it to Lidstrom? Thoughts..

I found it interesting that of the 7 teams that made in-season coaching changes this year that 3 of them made it to the playoffs (Carolina, Chicago and Pittsburgh). Obviously the changes Colorado made this year weren't enough. Perhaps with the changes that Colorado is making the team will be able to get it together and finally come back to play the level that I know they can. Can't wait to see how the draft goes.... especially since I don't agree with Sherman being made GM ( I don't feel he's handled dealing with the salary caps well), but they had to fill the GM position before the 26th and are scrambling.

I've been an Avs fan ever since I was introduced to the sport of hockey. I must say that I'm really glad you're not a fan either. The organization is all over the place. I didn't agree with them offering Roy the job and am glad he didn't take it. But a true fan always supports their team, no matter how crappy they get. And please keep in mind that this crappy team that used to be on top of the heap beat the beloved Wings 2 out of 3 games during the regular season. Can't help but wonder what kind of Wings fan you'll be when they don't win...

It's game day!!! For those Duck fans that have been posting here: Do you think tonight's attitude will be better towards Wings fans when (no IF about it!) the Wings win? Here's my concern: Tuesday night's behavior by a large number of Duck fans was atrocious and that was after a win. How pissed off are they going to be when they're drunk and they lose? I couldn't agree more that there is safety in numbers. For all those attending tonight's game stay safe and don't let any fan intimidate you from showing your support of the Wings.

I think where you sit has a lot to do with the type of Duck fans you're surrounded by... Up in the club level it's a whole different world... everyone (with the exception of the jackass sitting directly behind us) was really cool and we all had a great time. You go downstairs and it's complete and utter chaos!!! Some little kid dressed like duck was completely out of control and being restrained by (who I can only assume) his dad. Kind of reminded me of a rabid dog stuck on a leash... Hoping that tomorrow night's game is better for the Wings (connect the pass!!!) as well as for their fans.
