I dont make it out to be a vicious rivalry, just a fun one. Its kinda hard to get up for a team like Columbus, or Nashville. There is no history there. The Ducks and Wings have met in the playoffs 5 times (we got two, you got three). When you meet a team in the post season, a rivalry will naturally form. The level of that rivalry will depend on who the players are. We did indeed take some shots this offseason, with losing Pronger and Beauchimen. But on the flip side, we should have two pretty dominant scoring lines, after picking up Kovu. After the first D line, we will be suspect. We have, for the most part, no more chacking line, and I dont know enough about Sbisa to comment on. All I know is that the Flyers fans were not happy about losing him. Lupol had 50 points last year, so we should get some productivity from him. I think its going to be a fun season and I cannot wait for it to start.

See thats what I am talking about! Feel the hate. If a team doesnt get up for the Wings, then they have no concept of hockey history. Before I really started watching hockey and respecting the athleticism of the players, even I knew that the Wings commanded respect. The rivalry between the Ducks and the guppies is pretty much non-existant. You cant carry on a convo with their fans with them wanting to try and kick someones ass. Now for Detroit, say what you will, over the last few seasons, there hasnt (IMO) been a team that has plyed you as tough as the Ducks have. At least this decade. I still feel that the series between our two clubs took alot out of your team for the remainder of the playoffs. On a side note, where was Holmstrom...

NNOOOO! You guys are killing me. I will have to show up to the Joe wearing a wife beater (w/Ducks logo), a speedo (3 sizes too small) and sandles with socks. I will walk around the arena drinking wine coolers and spitting on people. that should make you dislike the ducks...

I know, but you guys still hate Gettzy and Perry right? Add the fact that on another thread here they want Ericsson to be the designated enforcer, you still have MaCarty on the payroll...it could happen.

I dont think malkin should have gotten the conn. it should have went to osgood. I think if osgood wasnt playing goal, you guys would have been hard pressed to get past anaheim and then chicago. osgood was smokin the entire playoffs. Onmly real good thing today? Kunitz got his second ring. I think the penguins have a couple of former ducks. Even the coach was a duck....hopefully when we play you guys next season, you will remember that there were a few ducks on the other team....Great season though. Ducks Win the Cup!

Dont forget, you can have a sweep but those 4 games could be physically and emotionally draining. Nice comment on Pavel

Hey Hey! Dont mock the 'stache. He had career highs in assists and goals (5) this year. And his penalty minutes went down as well (slightly). He is on his way to being 'skills' type player.

sO HOW LONG NOW HAS IT BEEN SINCE HOLMSTROM AND PAVEL SCORED A GOAL/ wHAT, 2, maybe 3 years (I jest) but thats what it seems like. At least your role players are coming up big. Whats funny are the only three teams that I like to watch are the Ducks, Wings and Avs. Which is kinda cool cuz when these teams play, i enjoy it regardless...

I was telling a friend of mine that whomever won this series was going to win the cup. My comment still stands. Even more so now.

This was a killer game. I was driving home on the freeway when we tied it up. My daughters were so embarrassed when I started honking my horn. What really sucked? Also, I dont followthe Wings during the regular season, but why are you guys giving Osgood a hard time. If he holds his in the rgular season and then kicks ass in the playoffs, whats the problem? Most players are more focused in the playoffs anyways. The Presidents Trophy doesnt mean s***. Look at San Jose. Fat lot of good it did them. Ah, well. Now onto the Lakers...

What do I call "adjusting the visor"? Smart. What do I call knocking the other guys brain bucket off? Smarter. The whole thing started when Hossa got in Getlafs face and they started shoving each other. Dot forget all the little face washes that your guys love to do. The Wings cheat just like every one else. They are just good at hiding it. Your team blew chunks tonight and your having a hard ime dealing with it. I understand that. I was pissed to about the last three ass-whoopings you put on us. Its also getting tiring watching my team not be able to score more than three (4 once) in a game. And as far as the drive-bys, I am still trying to figure this site out. I still would have come by even if the Ducks lost. I dig the Wings. Great organization....but I am a Ducks fan.

Hossa started shoving Getzy after the horn sounded, and Getzy shoved back. Then it went to s*** from there and the Ducks began pummeling the Wings.

Great ending to a great game. The Ducks finally woke up. Now we have a great game 7 coming up. Good luck to both teams. On a side note, Pavel fights like a *****. Same with Rafalski (although he is still injured). Why do the Wings seem intent on trying to scrap with the Ducks? You brought up your enforcer...did he play? That was a waste. Hopefully the Wings keep him for game 7 and the Ducks let Parros play. That would be nice to watch Parros and McCarty do a little dance at center ice...but McCarty fights like a ***** as well. I will agree with what the other Ducks are saying. You should be able to run your mouth if you want to, to an extent. I am all for yelling and going crazy for your team. But for the rest of us, that are there with our families (ie CHILDREN), come on. Is it totally necessary for some of you to use the F-word 6 times in a 10 word sentence? Now I realize that the majority of detroit fans that were there last night were TRUE fans. Not only of the RW, but of hockey. There was that small percentage of RW jerseys last night that were completely stupid. The fight that happened in the arena, according to the people that I know that work there that saw it, RW fan started it. I almost got into it game 3 because some guy wouldnt watch his mouth (cussing). Here is what I suggest. You guys, RW fans, need to start policing your rowdy boys. The Ducks fans are already starting to do this with our fans. Nothing will set a fan straight then getting bitched out by a fellow fan from his team. It gets embarrassing. In the long run, if we the fans dont take care of this, the NHL will. They already dont allow smoking in stadiums (fine by me and I smoke). They have been trying for years to limit alcohol from sproting events for YEARS! This kind of crap happening just fuels what they are trying to say. Shannahanman, I torn over what you said. On the one side, I cant find any record of what happened last night in any blotter reports, security personnel, or anything like that.
