Recent roadtrip down the Oregon Coast to San Fransico! Started here in Edmonton, drove to Vancouver, Seattle, down the Coast, then to San Fran. Seattle - we did the Space Needle, Experience Music Project and a bunch of other things...>GREAT CITY! This is this Wildlife Safari place in the middle of no where Oregon...it was strange - but fun. Camping supplies for the night; Redwood Forest! Me driving through a tree! Can you see her? San Fran/Alcatraz! Possibly the coolest place ever. Walkway to the cellhouse Escape route! Me and my GF at the Giants game - they won! And Carlos Santana threw out the first pitch... and of course Great trip! sorry for flooding the thread..i got carried away.

I have two authentic jerseys and two fake chines ones. My Yzerman and blank Winter Classic jerseys were purchased from authentic stores here in Canada, but I am still happy about the ones I got from Chinese wholesalers. They are perfectly fine for wearing around the house, or going to the rink, and I don't get upset if i get them dirty or anything. I have a Zetterberg one from Lightinthebox.com (which is frankly pretty s***ty, but I paid 20 bucks for it so whatever), and a Chelios one from dhgate (seller ronowang1981) which is surprisingly realistic. Here is a link to a thread that has covered the Chinese wholesale jersey topic extensively, with pictures of my jerseys plus many others. http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.ph...0&start=720

No you are right, Maltby at this point in his career has lost a lot of his value, and Kopecky never had much value to begin with. Saying that though, I would rather give those spots to Helm and Abdelkader then plug Downey in the lineup. Downey will fit in somewhere, but the poor guy can barely take a pass - playing on a puck possession style team like the Wings just doesn't work. If the Wings are going to have an enforcer on the team - it has to be a guy like McCarty from the late 90s early 2000s. He could fight, check, AND make some pretty nice plays from time to time. Unfortunately, those guys are hard to come by.
-
No...not at all. Kopecky was a lousy hockey player, but at least he could skate, and his whole game didn't revolve around trying to be an enforcer. And as for Maltby, I would think a Wings fan would have noticed at some point in the last decade that Maltby is a great defensive player, he can skate, and even has the ability to contribute offensively from time to time. He also doesn't pretend to be an enforcer - he is an agitator - something completely different. Don't forget, Maltby made Team Canada for a World Cup and an World Championships. Downey isn't even in the same league as Maltby.
-
Exactly. I dont think anyone read the translation - not that I am condoning the use of hookers (though who am I to tell people how to spend their money), but according to the article, Hudler and his GF were already broken up because she wanted kids and he wasn't ready. He went out AFTER to try and forget everything - you know, ease the pain with some drinks - and then hired the escorts.
-
He had 14pts in 19 games after the Wings got him at the deadline. I dunno, I thought he was a nice addition, but he had a terrible playoffs - didn't he have a broken finger though? Anyways, he had some nice years with chicago, hope he can get his career back on track.
-
As for that OP - Good for Downey - I hear he is a nice guy. But seriously, I am glad the Wings decided to move on - he is a lousy hockey player and an average enforcer. You need to be able to stay in the lineup in order to be a successful tough-guy, and Downey had no chance of doing that here. Maybe he can crack the lineup of the worst team in the league.
-
As much as I hate to say it, Sidney Crosby. He has even straightened out the blade of his stick to get better wood on the backhands. I remember seeing it compared to Ovechkin, who has a terrible backhand because he does the exact opposite.

My predictions: -Leino scores 15 goals and gets just under 50 points -The Finals will be made up of either Washington or the Flyers, or Detroit or Vancouver. -Coyotes do play a game in Canada this season. -The NHLPA will remain divided after Paul Kelly's firing, and they wont hire a replacement before Christmas. -Marian Hossa gets no more then 30 points in his injury riddled season, and scores fewer then 5 goals for the Hawks in the playoffs ( they lose to in the second round, mainly because of poor goaltending and Karma owing to Patrick Kane being a *****). -Canada-Gold, Russia-Silver, Sweden-Bronze -Franzen scores just under 40 goals. -Datsyuk finally scores over 100pts. -Zetterberg scores around 80pts. -Filppula tops 50 points -Bertuzzi scores 25 goals -Lidstrom re-signs for 1 more year at a reduced salary slightly under 5 million. -Ericsson is amazing.
-
There is the heart of the problem. They have a terrible name in the first place.
-
This is embarrassing for the NHLPA. I actually feel bad for Paul Kelly - now I don't know the details behind all this except for this rumour that Kelly wasn't 'close enough' (wtf?) with some of the representatives, but I'd give Kelly the benefit out the doubt when dealing with a bunch of friggin' hockey players. Its like Kelly didn't invite them all over for a beer this summer and they got pissed.

I am all for classic looking jerseys, but the crest on this one looks like a minor league baseball jersey. Even so, its not terrible. IMO.

What are the odds Holland brings in someone like Manny Fernandez, Kolzig, or Curtis Joseph just in case? If they are still available and Howard isn't giving us wins while Osgood gets nights off, do you think Holland will go after a vet to play backup down the stretch?
-
agreed, but I can't see them allowing him to backup Ozzy in the playoffs if he has had a god awful season. A vet. backup would be nice to have on the bench just in case.

Devellano says Wings close to signing Bertuzzi

Whoa..talk about Edmonton shooting themselves in the foot. Were you kidding? I mean I'd be all for that - but Eberle is lights out, and Nash has pretty good potential too. Why would Edmonton take on the salary of an aging Maltby and a mediocre Lebda and give the Wings a potential star in return? -
So here is a quick question - If the IOC states that the Hockey Canada symbol can't be present on the jersey, why is there still a Hockey Canada symbol on the right elbow? Either A) The rule just means that it can't be the PRIMARY logo or B) These are fakes. I am inclined the think the prior scenario is correct, but can anyone clarify the rule?

I like em a lot, but I was also looking forward to them sporting the 72 Summit Series-like sweaters that the Jr. were in last year.

holy s*** Lids just blew out in front of Marty with about 75 votes in the last 2 minutes. Way to go guys.
-
Brodeur has three stanley cups and a gold medal in his resume. Luongo has two World Championship gold medals and a World Cup gold. I think that stands up nicely to Swedens goaltending.
-
usually i dismiss these ideas- but i actually think eaves has cleary potential. i wouldnt be opposed to it if hudler runs

Okay guys, over the last couple of months I've purchased two Chinese jerseys from separate sites. The first was a red Zetterberg jersey from lightinthebox.com, and the second was a white Chelios jersey from a seller on dhgate named ronawang1981. The results are pretty clear - both are SUPPOSEDLY size 50. Haha, you guys be the judges. Lightinthebox.com notice the "A" on the wrong side, and the square cut bottom of the jersey. here are the jerseys together - lightinthebox on top - dhgate on bottom - notice both say size 50. and here is me with the dhgate jersey from ronawang1981 needless to say i was pretty disappointed when I got the Zetter jersey - but the Chelios one, which I got last Friday blew my mind. If you look closely they really tried to mimic the real things with the different fabric pieces, and I was really happy that the bottom of the jersey was angled, like the real ones. BOTH have tie-down straps btw... Prices were $38USD for the Zetterberg, and $45USD for the Chelios one.

Interesting article about the cost of recent years trades by wings

The Wings also have 2 Stanley Cups out of those deals. 100% of the NHL would take two cups over those players mentioned I don't care much for this article.
