Dear God. Its the Legion of Doom!
-
Awesome. Lets steal Toews next year
-
Oh god. Arron Asham is an UFA again. Half of this board is going to have kittens.
-
Oh please, like he gives a s***.

Fine, him and Kopecky can still spoon on roadtrips when they get lonely. I hope Kronwall puts his shoulder through this guys skull at some point next season. I am bitter that he was terrible ALL playoffs long - and then left. If he was a man he would have stayed in Detroit and got the cup he wanted so badly. These contract things are bulls***, how many millions of dollars do you need before it stops mattering, its not like he can spend it all anyways. Loser. Thanks for 40 regular season goals and a piss poor playoff performance. And to Kopy - hope your caved-in face is healing properly. Damn, I can't remember one good thing this kid did in his years.
-
yuck i hope this is not true

Moen and Pahlsson are on my wishlist. Komisarek or Havlat would be exciting too.
-
ouch. rejected.
-
Some of those teams might have a chance against Canada's B team Kidding, kidding. That US team has A LOT of young talent - I'll be excited to see a US/CANADA matchup in 3 or 4 years.

Sportsnet is saying its done!

What would people think about getting these players?
Yzerfan1999 replied to crazy13's topic in General
If we don't go the Hossa route - the only other way I might be satisfied is if we take a look at Travis Moen and Sami Pahlsson. Helm, Moen, and Pahlsson would be a hell of a third checking line. But yeah, my first choice is to hang on to Hossa and keep Helm and Leino in the lineup. EDIT. Pahlsson and Moen are UFAs btw. -
Sami Pahlsson is also a free agent. Him or Moen might be nice little additions in the place of Sammuelson.

Anyone else notice Joel quennevilles horrid coaching?
Yzerfan1999 replied to tommingthepuck96's topic in General
Thats a result of line matching - trying to keep up with Zetter and Dats. Bolland and Pahlsson were checkers, as well as penalty killers. -
Sorry - I must have blacked out when I was writing my original post. It was supposed to say its a good name, not 'its not a good name". I am all for obvious names and logos, and I agree, despite the sickening trend in the NHL for all teams to have some sort of black uniform, that the Senators original black road uni when they came back in 91 was awesome. The side profile of the Senator is a gem.

I'd like to think that given another chance, Hossa would do really well in the playoffs. Besides, having a 40 goal scorer for 4 million isn't so bad.
-
Uhg. You have horrendous taste. You think the Penguins have a bad name, yet you have two teams whose names aren't even plural in your top three. Wild Avalanche Yuck, yuck, yuck. Besides the Buffalo 'slug', the Avalanche have the WORST logo in sports - an 'A' with an avalanche coiling around it? Terrible. Hahah, what do you mean by unique? Its not a good name, but its plainly obvious, being in the Capital of Canada...there are Senators. It just makes sense - WHICH is what most teams should do for their names and logos. Somple and classic is the way to go. The Wings and the Blackhawks have the best jerseys in the league, IMO.

I can't wait to see Darren Helm next season - he is such a little wrecking ball, but has the hands to go with it. I think we are all going to be very pleased with his progression next season. As for other guys, I would love to see Hudler on the team next year again. He adds some scoring depth, great hands, and it seems like he has a great rep. in the locker room - something that shouldn't be ignored. Sammy can go as far as I am concerned. I was never on the bandwagon to run the guy out of town, in fact I think he was pretty valuable this season - but we have enough guys who can put the puck in the net. We need a new crop of the grind line, which should be built around Helm. Maybe Abdlekader can play on the wing with him, but another high energy BIG body would be awesome to round out a third line. I am not talking an enforcer, just a big body that wont back down. Max Talbot is the perfect example of the kind of guy we need. Travis Moen is a UFA...any thoughts on him? I remember him being a ***** to play against in '07 with the Ducks, and he is still only 27

Stuart is a great #3 or 4 defenseman for the Wings. I think he ran into some problems in the finals because of fatigue, largely due to extended minutes from Lidstrom and Raffi injuries. He is definitely not worthy of all the blame here - I don't think anyone is specifically. The Penguins played a great final series and the Wings never got rolling.
-
Yes, yes, yes. I was thinking long and hard about this last night. I would love to see the Wings make a pitch for this kid. Young, big, and he is only going to get better. If the Wings want to ease the pain of losing Lids in the next 2-3 years - this is the guy to bring into the mix. I would gladly let Hossa go for J Bo. Not that I am against Marian, but like Holland says, defense wins championships and this year already our defense started to look weak.

Could Penguins win the Cup if they had the injuries
Yzerfan1999 replied to Snazzy's topic in General
Absolutely not, but parting of winning a cup is being healthy. The Wings were fortunate last year, not so much this year. Its all part of it. -
I really like this guy. No one has the ability to make me feel better - or at least at peace - after a loss. His post game was really good, and I thank god he is our coach. Anyone got a link to his post game? I just watched it on the Wings official page and he said some really good things. Anyways, with this guy behind the bench, the Wings have a really good chance every year.

Pitt played a great series. They really did deserve it, and they should be proud of what they've accomplished. Feels good doesn't it? Enjoy the summer!

I hope the mods close this thread. Its embarrassing and makes us look like sore losers.
