Seeing as not that much separates the two in talent and importance to their team, i am sure every one in the NHL would rather have 20 Datsyuks on their team rather then one Crosby. I read this thread as a simple question:If the Wings could have Crosby, would you want him on the team? The only logical answer is YES. Not taking into account salary implication, there is no way Crosby would make this team worse. To think that is just retarded. Its not a question of whether or not you like the kid - believe me, you have all expressed your hatred of Crosby a billion times already in this forum. We know.

People are saying no? Are you crazy? Of course I would want Crosby on the Red Wings. I can't think of any reason not to have one of the 5 best players in the game, even if he has an 8.7 million dollar salary cap. He is younger, and better then Hossa - how could you not want him on the team? Think of how he would mature with players like Dats, Zetter, and Lids. It would be sick.

Just got my order today. Looks a lot better then I thought. Everything is perfect except for one error -the "A" for assistant cpt on the Zetter jersey is wrong side. I plan on getting my mom to take it off and put it on the other side, we will see if it can be done. The Zetterberg looks really good and so does the crest and numbering, even has the tie down straps. I will post pics.

I am pretty sure you can vote multiple times. It didn't lock me out, but i am not sure if my votes are still counting. Franzens goal was a way better play then Kippers. Its a display of skill vs. a display of complete desperate luck.

I am nervous - the odds are against the Wings, but hey - they are still a great hockey team and if anyone has a chance to repeat, its them. I just keep thinking about what Lidstrom said a couple months ago - that he thought the current locker room is even more focused on their goal then they were last year. Motivation will be key...I hope they already forgot about last year and go out hungry.

Eh...Ballard was almost on his knees when he delivered that hit. He was low enough that his hands were touching the ground, which makes me think it was pretty low, and therefor dangerous, but I have seen much much worse - it could have gone either way. Most of this is just people getting their Penguins/Crosby hate on. If Franzen got hit like that and Hossa jumped in, you would all be having kittens and you know it.

I had been keeping my eye on this thread for a while and finally jumped in on it. After much deliberation, I went with lightinthebox for a red Zetterberg jersey. If it turns out alright, I will get a Chelios one too. I hope mine comes with a Stanley Cup patch like some of those others do. In any case, its only $30. I'll post when I get it.

I am happy to hear this. As much as I would LOVE to keep Hossa, giving him 6+ million would cripple us for the next couple of years. I like the way Franzen has worked his way up through the ranks, and I think he deserves a long term deal. He has looked spectacular at times this season, and at points, he has been the most dominant player on the ice (other then Dats). It will be sad if a deal with Hossa can't be worked out, but thats the business. I trust Holland to do the right thing with these two.

Sidney Crosby and Steve Yzerman. Imagine what Sid could learn from the Captain about leadership. That added with Crosby's natural skill would be killer.

Next to Datsyuk, he was the best player on the ice last night. I was really impressed with him, and have been for the last year or so. Not to derail the thread too much, but I think it might be in Hollands best interest to hang on to this guy and let Hossa walk. Hossa is still the better player, but with the cap expected to shrink, keeping Franzen at 4-5 million and saving the extra 2 million from Hossa sounds alright to me. I feel like Franzen has really worked his way up through the ranks of this team, and deserves the first shot at a long term contract with the Wings. There is something inside me that says keeping Franzen is the right thing to do...can't really explain that, but I trust Holland to make the right decision. Just my thoughts.
