Holy Crap. I didn't even make the Grand Rapids team. Everyone needs an Alex Burrows.

I went to the game and had a GREAT time! Datsyuk and Franzen were the best players on the ice, and I was really impressed with Ericsson. I spent $300 on two tickets and the Wings put on a great show for me tonight, couldn't be happier. Nice to see a BUNCH of Wings fans too.

Alex Burrows. Same height (6'1"), a bit heavier but thats negligable. I was always a fast forward who worked hard to pucks and didn't have too much finesse. Eventually though, I got a bit of a scoring touch and started putting pucks in the net, but remained a pretty decent good two way player. And like Burrows, I liked to start s***... haha.

The Wings better KILL the Oil tomorrow night.

According to you? Naw, Crosby is definitely one of the top 5 players in the league. Chara is a great player, but I think you are alone in thinking he is better then Crosby. Last year in the playoffs, Zetterberg made a great argument for his position in the top 5, but both he and Lidstrom have had mediocre years, especially by their standards. But I think I've made my point, by listing reasons why Crosby is a Top 5 player...? Honestly though, thats just my two cents.

Going to the Oil game Tuesday and I am worried they will come out slow after playing the Flames monday. Here's to hoping its an easy blowout....

That was the worst goal celebration I have seen since Avery's pushup act. He scored a s***ty goal on a 1 on 3 that McKenna should have stopped, and he acts like that?? He looked like an idiot - even his teammates, who apparently helped him think of the celebration, didn't want to join in. Not to mention doing it all right beside the net of a rookie goaltender on one of the worst teams in the NHL. Well done.

Alright, fair enough for normal slap shot scenarios. But like Mack Attack is pointing out, its quite clear Hossa took a swinging slap at the puck - thats no ordinary slap shot, its a spinning swipe towards the puck. If you look at it that way, it seems hardly legal. If a player golfs at the puck blindly at hits someone in the face, its seems like it would warrant a high sticking penalty to me.

I would have to disagree. High Sticking penalties are not called on intention, its based on control of your stick, which Hossa clearly didn't have. I am not saying Hossa is an ass for doing it, because it was a freak mistake, but its still a penalty. EDIT - And yeah...I remember watching that game and feeling bad for Berard. I think Cherry tore a strip off Hossa the next week too - whatever thats good for.

Is this who we WANT to win rather than Detroit, or who we THINK will win? If its the prior, I am suprised to see so many picks for the Devil's. Those guys bore the other teams to death en route to their cup wins. I have no hatred towards them or anything, but if I can't see the Wings win, I want a NEW team to win.

I think we are stuck with what we have for the rest of the year, but I would not be opposed to throwing Larsson or Howard right into the fire next season. Maybe we get lucky and one of them turns out to be a Mason/Price kind of player. I think its time the Wings take a serious look at their homegrown talent in net for the future. The Wings can't rely on bandaids like Conklin or Clemmenson if they want to be contenders 2-3 years from now.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS GUY PLAY? You guys can't stand watching Sammy out there, I guarantee you would hate Penner 100x more. He is lazy, overweight, and all around just not a good player.

I always thought that too. He looks like Crosby, but every feature is enhanced to the extreme end of ugliness.

I remember watching a Sledge Hockey game once, and the player bench and the penalty box board are clear glass, so you can see through them. I don't quite know if thats what you were asking...but yeah. Here is a crappy pic - but you can see the clear boards in the background.

Are you guys watching this? He is actually losing it. He just went on a rampage against the Red Wings and their 'sissy Europeans'. Wow. I have never seen him lose it like this.

My point wasn't that you guys didn't hate Pronger and Tootoo as much as Crosby, it was that all these topics are always focused on Crosby - at least three per week - yet you guys never post on Pronger and Tootoo's antics. Did you even read the post? I didn't ask you to feel sorry for the kid, I was asking you to stop being such ******* saps for the media. This whole thing is produced be overexposure and you guys think you are being 'different' for hating Crosby. Everyone ******* hates him because you have all jumped on the bandwagon against him, despite the fact he is one of top two exciting players in the league.

I'd be fine with all of these arguments if they had any validity, but you are all so worked up about Crosby getting so much attention that all you do is focus on every god damned little thing he does in a game and scrutinize him for it because you think he doesn't deserve the attention, and poor Ovechkin doesn't get 'his'. All you do is look for reasons why he SHOULDNT be the face on the NHL. Take a look at a player like Jason Blake for example. This guy is the biggest hack in the league, by FAR a bigger cheap shot artist then Crosby, and he spears and slashes players every night - you pay no attention to him. I could list ten other players who play the same way, but because the media doesn't focus on them, you have no material. Tootoo, Pronger (who has done more bad things to the Wings then ANYONE, yet you guys don't give a s*** about his nightly actions) I am starting to think all you people do is watch Wings games and Crosby highlights. If Crosby had sucker punched Ovechkin on the way to the bench - now that would be something to talk about. Did you guys even watch the interviews? Both players said it was nothing, happens ten times a game, and that it was no big deal. There shouldn't have even BEEN interviews based on that little tussle in the first place. It will be great if the Wings play the Caps in the finals. Lets see how you guys like Ovechkin's goal celebrations then. After all, it wasn't until Detroit and Pittsburgh met up in the finals last year that Crosby-bashing threads started to dominate this once glorious forum.

The way this forum has been obsessed with everything Ovechkin does in the last 12 months is starting to get boring. Its obvious that the VAST majority of posters here hate Crosby and love Ovechkin, I just liked it better around here when it was letsgowings.com instead of letsgoovechkin.com. P.S. This thread should be merged with the other Crosby bashing topic.

The fact that this video is titled "Ovechkin and Crosby fight in Caps 5-2 win" is embarrassing. You can call him a pansy ass, but there is no way Crosby is boring to watch. And as for Ovechkin's goal celebrations - there is something to be said for people who act like they've scored before. Thats what I really liked about Yzerman, and players like Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Franzen. Ovechkin scores 50 goals a season for god's sake - its about time he starts acting like he's done it before. I don't know about you guys, but his moves are exciting enough for me. I don't need to see him jumping up and down like an ape every time he scores a goal.
