Both Pierre and Eddie O were questioning Therrien's decision to keep him off the ice in the final seconds, saying that it would make sense *if the Wings were to goon it up on him, but then quickly noted there was no one on the ice for the Wings who would do that. That is why they brought it up.

I don't think Lebda is as fast as Hossa. The way he skates makes him look like he is going at light speed, but I find it hard to believe a guy that short can be faster than Hossa - he has some serious wheels.

The point is that Crosby isn't spending the time vacationing. He was a first team all-star selection by the fans and they want to see him regardless. Its his duty to show up this weekend. Its not about a burden of proof of injury, its about a marketing opportunity for the NHL which is severely hindered if its stars are not there. Bettman wants the all-stars to show up for the fans, if they can't play that's fine - but he thinks they ought to show up if they are selected. Not saying I agree with it, but vilifying Crosby because he showed up is retarded. Lids and Dats had the some chance to get on the plane today as Crosby did, but they chose not to. I bet there would have been a lot of disappointed kids in Montreal if Crosby didn't even show face, and he wouldn't have if Bettman hadn't put this rule in place.

Good for Kenny to stand up for his guys, but whats with the thread title? There is no exemption by Crosby - he made the trip to Montreal and will be taking part in all off ice activities, thus preventing the one game suspension.

I have to say, Ehrhoff made no attempt to avoid Datsyuk along the boards there. Dangerous play - skates to face....

...Which is weird, because I swear they invented that s***. Kidding aside though, I agree with the earlier posts - Datsyuk creates moves that will actually work in game situations. I'd rather he break out the new moves in a shootout or on a breakaway when it counts. Let the other guys do their pirouettes and backflips.

Who knows if the article source is legit or not, but if it is...thats disheartening. I can't think of any reason why Zetter wouldn't take 10 years at 7.5. Its longer and more money then Pavel. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If I am Zetterbergs agent, I am jumping all over that, especially with the prospect of the cap going down. I am starting to wonder if signing Hossa for one year has put a bad taste in Hanks mouth. He has less playing time with Dats and is not doing nearly as well offensively this year. Don't get me wrong, I love Hossa - but I would take Zetterberg over him any day. I still think they get a deal done, but I am getting nervous.

I got one for christmas and i LOVE it, and I would not be apposed to the Wings using it as a third if they HAD to. The only problem is that the Jersey is white based, and it would have to be an away jersey - kind of like how the leafs are forced to wear their vintage thirds on the road this year because they are white too (I am convinced they just didn't think that through before they made it, haha). Anyways, the appeal for the third jersey comes from the home crowd. What's the use it having one that can only be worn on the road?

No one in hockey would get a suspension for rag dolling a guy like Crosby did. Half of you claim this wasn't even a fight, and this guy says his actions are suspendable? Are you nuts? You can hate Crosby and think he isn't the best player in the league - there is nothing wrong with that, but how can you call him a loser and a totally pathetic person? Its like arguing with a bunch of 13 year olds on this site now. Take a look at the Semin fight - then you can start calling people pathetic.

That fight actually impressed me. He manhandled McLean into a position where he could have just been feeding him uppercuts, but he didnt. Kept the punches above the shoulders and didn't try and sucker McLean. We will see how the Pens respond to this next game - maybe the rest of the guys will step up. If Zetter or Datsyuk did this, you would all be having kittens and you know it.

This argument has ground when it happens at close range, but Ovechkin was looking at his back the whole way in. It wasn't Heward's fault for going after the puck like that. It looks like he just stumbled a bit and Ovechkin checked his head into the boards with his elbow. Unintentional, but it still should have been a penalty. No susp. though.

Just saw it on TSN. From the angle they show it doesn't look too bad to me. Kind of an unfortunate outcome on the hit - looked like Heward just caught Ovechkins elbow in the back of his neck because he was leaning down. It didn't look like AO went in elbows up, but then again I did not see if he left his feet or not. I can't really tell. *But now that you posted that vid, the more I look at it the worse it gets. He really crunched his head in there.

Boston vs. New York in NYC would be pretty cool.

I do this with the Edmonton Oilers all season long and I am forever grateful for being a Wings fan.

Just wondering if anyone has heard or read anything on the Zetterberg contract extension talks recently. I think we would all like to see Holland sign him sooner rather then later. I think Zetterberg should be the #1 priority over Franzen and Hossa, but I just haven't heard anything in a while.
