Predators Lighting Avalanche Wild Trashers I don't really know why everyone hates the Ducks name - sure they are assholes, but I respect a team that doesn't feel the need to have some abrasive 'cool sounding' name. Ducks Pengiuns Oilers Red Wings Canadiens Those kind of names are nice and stay somewhat classy. Seriously, the 'Thrashers'? I know its a bird, but it just sounds dumb. I couldn't take myself seriously if I played for a team names the Thrashers, or the Wild.

Correct - most people think that its from "les habitants', so many that it might as well be what it stands for. But yeah, originally it was simply for "hockey".

I guess since they left the West they aren't as much of a rival as before, but still. Toronto is one of the LAST places I'd like Yzerman to go - I hate the Leafs and it would go against everything I live for to cheer for them. I bet he hangs around in Detroit until the spot opens up in Ottawa or maybe Vancouver.

I like Red Stripe on occasion, but sometimes it seems a bit sweet to me. I recently got a job working in a fine wine and spirits store which has a very nice selection of imports for me to try. Last week it was TsingTao - a Chinese beer, and I loved it. Not sure what I will try this week, but I am leaning towards Kingfisher from India. I have had it a couple times before and really enjoyed it.

Just out of pure curiosity, and because I have it in my Yzerman collection in mint, how much would you say this is worth? I dono't expect it being worth that much, but its one of my earlier Yzermans'. 85-86 Oh-Pee-Chee -
Wow, that looks pretty cool. A lot better then the all black.

Well, even though I don't like his taste in jersey's - at least he is helpful and his page always has news on the jerseys first.

Hahah, I am glad I found someone else who agrees. I frequent that site and I am amazed at the s*** he thinks looks good - bad taste for sure.

I like the Blues new design for their crest, but the colours remind me too much of Nashville Preds jerseys. The Blue is too dark - kind of like the old Edmonton 3rds, and I bet they look almost black on TV.

Wings still strong, but other West foes could get in way

I think Dallas is going to be a really good team again this year. They proved they were good in the playoffs last year, and adding Avery helps their cause. I wouldn't be suprised if we had a rematch in this years WCF. San Jose is going to be good again this year - but I have a hard time seriously seeing them as contenders, they always seem to mess it up. -
Haha, I think it looks deceiving. Its probably some type of SUV, unless his minivan has sweet dual exhaust.

Ville Leino looks more like a hipster doofus from some new wave band then a hockey player. Haha

Jeez. I barely remember the guy played for the Wings. How many games did he end up playing? Like a dozen? I remember a lot of people being pretty stoked when he signed here. Too bad it didn't work out.

The big E just donated the most money ever to charity by a Canadian sports figure. Classy move IMO. 5 Million is a lot of cash. Check out the link. Eric Lindros Donates

Jesus, I didn't know he was 39 already. Time flies.

They have some great photos for sale. I like this one too

I don't think thats the case. I was under the impression this is a realistic question. No one in the world would say Franzen is a better hockey player then Hossa, but based on the salary cap and the superstars this team already has, its quite reasonable for people think that Franzen should stay long term at 4-5 million over Hossa at 8 or 9.
-
I love these kind of posts - 'If you don't agree with me you are automatically an idiot because I am the authority on everything hockey'. In uncapped league, yes I would take Hossa, but the reality is that after this season keeping Franzen at 4 or 5 million and adding another depth player or saving the cash for someone else is probably going to be the Wings best option. If you think Hossa is going to resign for the same money, you're 'an idiot, homer, or both'. He is going to look for 8-9 million somewhere else after this year. I'd love to keep them both, but Hossa will be going for the long-term big bucks after winning a cup this year .

Actually, he probably knows a bit more then us here, and if Stamkos wasn't on his prospects 'to watch' list - it leaves one thinking... Even so, the argument about Eklund is that he pulls bulls*** rumours out of his butt - this has nothing to do with a rumour, its just a training camp roster.
-
I don't think he was skeptical that the Bolts were in Traverse City, he was saying Stamkos wasn't supposed to be their. According to your post and the fact that Stamkos is noticeably absent from Eklunds list of top prospect gives him a right to question the validity of the story. I like to believe people who tell stories like this 'cause they are neat - but lets see some pictures! That makes everything more exciting. Eklund on Traverse Tourny

Looks nice, SWF. What I would do for some nice weather like that right now. Up here in Edmonton its already getting that fall chilly feeling and I HATE it. A late summer evening Football game with nice weather sounds unreal right now.

Totally worth it! It has been rated one of the top 5 hiking trips in the World.

Hey guys, just wanted to share a few pics from my summer adventures. London, England These ones were taken on the West Coast Trail, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Its a 75KM hike that me and a good group of friends did at the end of August. We had the time of our lives. Sealions, Seals, Wales, Bears, and Cougars were all seen along the way. It took us 6 days and 5 nights of camping to reach the end, and it was something I will remember forever. If anyone is into backpacking or hiking, this trail is a definite must. The trail is full of ladders, roots, bridges, and cable cars. So much fun. Sorry about all the pictures, I just wanted to show you guys how awesome this place is. Thats me in the middle with the baseball cap and the red bottle. And the finished product. Once again, sorry if I crashed your computer. I get excited thinking about that trip...

What are you talking about? Nobody is giving anyone a free win. Montreal is in the same division as Ottawa and Toronto, and they HAVE to play each other. I am not sure I understand your point. P.S. The 100 year anniversary IS a big deal. They have by far been the best hockey franchise ever, and playing for a century is pretty impressive. If anyone deserves an outdoor game, its Montreal or Toronto.
