The truth doesn't hurt, people being biased because they think a player gets too much attention is just plain stupid. Admit it, you were afraid just like the rest of us every time the puck was on Crosby's stick during the finals. Need I remind you that he just finished helping his team to the SC finals by leading them in scoring with 27 points in 20 games? I would say he has lived up to the hype just as much as AO - they both have Hart, Art Ross and L.B. Pearson trophies and Crosby has 16 fewer points then AO in 32 fewer games. Both of them have completely lived up to their hype.

You must not watch hockey if you claim Crosby is just a 'decent' player. All you people who are bitching that Ovechkin doesn't get the attention Crosby does...YOU are the cry babies. Settle the f*** down - it still baffles me how worked up people get because they think Ovechkin doesn't get whats his. The guy is a multi-millionaire who couldn't care less what Crosby is doing right now. Crosby is the 'face' of the NHL because Ovechkin looks like an ogre. He's Canadian and speaks perfect english, and I don't care if you think AO is better, they are both amazing players - so, if you were going to choose someone to market, who would you pick? A good looking Canadian boy who the ladies drool over and guys want to be? Or a mangled looking Russian who speaks broken english? Sure, its tough luck for AO and I like him as much as the next person does, but thats the way it works, and hey - they both get their millions. So whats the big deal? I get so annoyed with all these Crosby sucks threads. I don't think there has ever been a player people ***** so much about, jesus. This AO vs. 'Crysby' is such a tired argument, we all know we'd rather have Zetterberg anyways.

I think some of you will remember the website a lot of us used to get the concepts for the new Reebok EDGE jerseys last season. The NHL Tournament of Logos has a new page, which will be keeping track of the new third jerseys being released for this upcoming season. Several teams have confirmed that they WILL have thirds, including Boston, San Jose, and the Kings to name a few. You can keep track of same neat concepts at the new webpage by the same designer: icethetics I just thought it was fun discussing the new jerseys last summer, and with the Wings in the Winter Classic this year, there may be a good chance that we see Detroit wearing some retro-jerseys for the game. I love these things. When I was a kid I got an Adam Oates one and a Felix Potvin one. Being an idiot, i took them out of the box to play with them. Oh well. I got the Zetterberg one from NHL 14 last year and kept it in the box. Its sitting on my desk right now...love it.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with Milbury or McGuire. Cherry's comments have to be taken with a grain of salt, so I never take him too seriously. The guys who I think have s*** for brains are Nik Kypreos, Ron MacLean (always whining for the pre-lock out clutch and grab style of hockey to return), and every ******* loser wash up back up goalie like Greg Millen. I still remember in 2002 game 4 of the Conf. quarters against Vancouver, Detroit was up 2-0 and had just received a power play, when Millen exclaimed " The Canucks have the Red Wings RIGHT where they want them right now". His reasoning was that a short handed goal to make it 2-1 would have made the game interesting, but it was a stupid thing to say and I will never forget it. Whoever thinks a team that is down by 2 and on the PK has their opponent right where they want them, is a blathering idiot. Sorry...I will just always remember that comment. Detroit won the game 4-0.

You are right, I should have said 'usually'. As for the Yankees though, they have had the same jersey style for over 50 years and it would be sacrilegious for their fans if they changed them now. Then again they get their fill with the all black spring training uni, but even that is keeping with the yankees colours and symbol - its not a big change. I think most people are right to strongly reject any change to the Wings jersey, whether it was the logo, or adding a black third. Retro would be completely fine, but there is no point in restyling the symbol or the colours.

So wait...I am confused. The actually don't have a few different jerseys, right? I mean they just have a home and away that have been the same for the last 50 years, and home and away jerseys in baseball are always different colours with a different word mark. I must have just missed the reasoning behind the comparison...?

Really? All I was aware of was the home Pinstripes and the Away greys, which they have had forever. I mean sure, in the 20s they had white ones that just said "Yankees" across the front, but I don't think they have changed much, if at all in the last 50 years. BP and Spring training jerseys shouldn't really count...

Big news out of Chicago regarding the jerseys to be worn at the Winter Classic. Also, the Flyers third jersey seems to have been leaked - looks like their 70s style jersey. I like it a lot actually. Good for them if this is real. The Bruins will be going with something like this. Of course all this stuff can be found over at icethetics, but this is for the people not wanted to go over there. P.S. Here is the Red Wings equivalent for the Jersey year which the Black Hawks have proposed. - same as the one betterREDthendead posted. except its the 1937-39 versons. Who knows what they will actually go with. I love this stuff. PPS, can anyone tell me what these patches are on the Red Wings jerseys from 1944-45? No other team had them that year...

|I am not sure that DVD has that game on it. I own it, so I should know without looking, but i am pretty sure it has a regular season game vs. the avs from 97 (the braw), the clinching scf game vs. the flyers in 97, the 96 OT winner vs. the blues by |Yzerman, and the 7-0 win in 2002 against the avs in game 7 of the csf. it will have highlights, but i am not sure it has the full length game on it.

Believe me, I would love to see him get 100+, but I predict a bit of a cup hangover for some of our guys to start the season. I bet Zetter gets 35 goals and 85-90 pts.
