That is very true. I've got 5 full lines on the board there though, I didn't send anything back to the Wild in return for Heatley, I was just going on the assumption that a million or two in players would be sent back. Either way, just a mock-up. I'd love to see a pure goal scorer on each of the top two lines. I think Franzen and a guy like Heatley would work.

I didn't see a whole lot of this series, but what I DID watch didn't look like playoff hockey to me. The play was kind of slow, lacked intensity, and was pretty boring. Schneider looked like s***... I think SJ will have some adjustments to make for whoever they play in the 2nd round. Whoever they play will be ALOT tougher than Van. Imagine if they play the Blues or the Kings? They'll get killed.

Looks like principle point of contact was to the head. Sure, it was a suicide pass, but that doesn't give the guy free reign to hit to the head - that's flawed logic. I was surprised to hear the CBC guys say it was clean. I think they were focusing too much on the interference call, which they correctly pointed out was the wrong call. If it is a hit to the head, and it sure looks like it, it seems completely suspendable. If Ference gets one game for his love tap to Grabovski, this surely deserves something. This wasn't a bodycheck, it was a shoulder to the head.

I think Helm or Abdelkader would get a letter before Andersson

Not a horrendous game, but the Ducks played better and deserved the win in the end. Liked the Nyquist line as the game progressed. Datsyuk wasn't as dominant as usual but I liked Zetterberg and Franzen's game. Ducks really forechecked our D hard and it was tough to get out of the zone. Hopefully the Wings will have a little more intensity for game 2. Winnable series for sure.

This is such s*** - Babcock will finish his contract with the Wings before anything happens. I love Dreger, but f*** him for breaking this the night before our biggest game of the season. This is someones "oh this would be nice" fantasy.

Interesting game last night. Couple of things I noticed; -Filppula was god awful - I usually have a lot of faith in him but he was actually getting in the way of his line mates last night. Might have been the worst game I've ever seen him play. For the first time, I think the Wings might be better off letting him walk next year in favour of keeping one of these kids in the lineup. -DeKeyser continues to impress me. No doubt in my mind he will be our top shutdown defenseman in the near future. -Nyquist, Andersson and Emmerton all played really well. Looks like Emmerton is finally making strides toward being a useful everyday player -I love our defense WITHOUT White and Colaiacovo Additionally, the CBC broadcasters really put this season into perspective. I've been pissing and moaning about the Wings' "fall from grace" all season but in reality, its amazing what they've been able to accomplish given their lineup and the tight Western Conference. After last night's game, I am actually kind of excited to see these younger guys progress over the next couple of seasons. I also still think the Wings will make the playoffs.

Don't mind the money. Like others, its the term that worries me. What about Petr Mrazek? Is it going to be 6 years before he is ready? I was hoping to see him as the Wings starter in 3-4 years...

The Wings have a really good shot at landing Dekeyser. From MI, played with Jim Nill's son, and grew up a Wings fan As long as the Wings don't lowball him horribly, they lead the pack for this kid. We shall see!

Thoughts so far? I think he has been great. Everybody was clamoring for an enforcer, and Tootoo has stepped into that role and more. He had a great shift tonight to draw a penalty near the end of the game. Too bad the Wings PP couldn't get its s*** together. I also love how he popped Dorsett, who is pretty pissed Hahahahaha. Im really sorry to jump on Howard, but he is really bad. Horrendous rebound control for the first 2 goals, and what the hell was that? He just fell down before prospal even got the puck. The guy NEVER makes the big save.
