During that sequence before Malone was hit in the face, there were at least 3 or 4 legitimate penalties that could have gone against the Pens..picks, picks and more picks. Wings need another gear in the third if they want to win the cup tonight. I want it over tonight soooo bad. I feel like the Wings are the ones with something to lose - its going to be hard to avoid a game 7 if we don't bag the cup tonight.

Wow..that was the worst period I have seen the Wings play all playoffs. It could easily be 3 or 4 nothing Pittsburgh. They better come out big in the second. They need one early. Please Wings...please - I need you to win tonight.

I say no to Prospal - he is going to get offered a longer term deal for way too much money, and I guarantee you that team will be desperate to unload his heavy contract when he flops next year. As of right now, minimal signings need to be done. I would add Vermette if it was an option - maybe Sergei if he comes cheap. I wouldn't mess with what he have very much.

I wouldn't say anyone is really overrated, but Rafalski seems to be falling behind a bit in these finals. Still - i'd hate to lose him. Underrated - Jiri Hudler.

It baffles me how we are all so consumed with what Pens fans are talking about - even though we are on the verge of winning the Stanley Cup. I've had enough of "this pens fan said this" and "Crosby obviously sucks and he is a whiner". You should all just admit that you are scared s***less everytime he is on the ice, because I sure am. Then we can all get over it and talk about how good the Red Wings are playing.

I completely agree. People on this board commit way too much of their time to bashing Crosby - and its not just during these finals. Throughout the season there were consistently one or two threads about Sidney. I believe one poster even claimed Crosby was one of the bigger 'disappointments' in the league because he hasn't lived up to Wayne Gretzky. Go figure - some people just never get tired of trashing players.

Zetterberg deserves the Conn Smythe.

Who cares if he was with his wife and son - he did so much dirty s*** in his career that they would all have to be blind not to figure out he was a gutless prick at some point in their lives. He should have thought about his reputation and his family before he hit Draper from behind. But really, who cares now. The Avalanche suck, Lemieux is long gone, and Draper is one game away from hoisting his fourth Stanley Cup.

As a child and a teenager, I always had man love for Steve Yzerman. Henrik Zetterberg is becoming my new Yzerman. He is just an unreal player - and its official - an argument can be made that he is the best all around player in the league. What a game...what a game.

Early word from Scott Oak on CBC is that Holmstrom has NOT dressed for the warmup - but they are not 100% sure on that. Bad news. Rally around this and win tonight boys!

Thank god someone started this thread. I am hoping the Wings win in 5, but if it goes to 7 I will need a pub in London to watch it. I fly out of Edmonton on Wed. and need some place to watch it.

Honestly, this was our best loss of these playoffs - if that makes sense. We were there the whole time, we still dominated the majority of the game and overall the Wings played a really good road game. If it were not for the Stuart turnover in the first, and a funny bounce off Ozzie, this game would have been much different - but those are things the Wings won't do every game and the Pens had to get some bounces at some point. Franzen has his game back too. I truly feel the Wings will get the split here and have the chance to win in 5. Oh, and I just wanted to comment on the play of Malkin and Hossa - Yeah, they showed up tonight, but please note - it was AFTER the Pens took the lead. Those guys seems to loose confidence as soon as they go down by one, they only seem like 'themselves' if they are winning. Just goes to show how important the first goal is. I am glad there are two days off - it allows whatever momentum the Pens got to cool off and our guys get a rest.

The Wings have looked really good so far, but I think we are going to need to score a PP goal in order to win the rest of these games. What are the Wings in this series, 0 for 12 or something? Then again that doesn't matter when your opposition isn't scoring either.

Definitely nervous. I expect a completely different Penguins team and their fans are going to help them a lot. I am hoping for at least a split in Pittsburgh.

I don't know, I tend to agree with him. The Wings didn't have that many clear cut goal scoring opportunities other than Filpulla and Zetters. Staal hit the post and Crosby missed his chance at sweeping the puck in on a partial break - there wasn't alot of wide open hockey IMO.

Datsyuk is my first star tonight. Way to stick up for Zetter and the rest of your team. UN REAL.

Look, we have half a dozen Gary Roberts type players on our side - The only thing that concerns me is that this guy can be a loose cannon. Zetter and Dats, AND Lids need to keep their heads up tonight. Roberts can he a cheap shot artist.

I just love being back in the finals. Seeing the GDT say 'SCF' gives me goosebumps. We have waited a long time (for Wings fans standards) to be back here, lets all savour and enjoy being back were the Wings ought to be. 4 more wins till ultimate glory! LETS GO WINGS!
