The Caps needed him to actually show up tonight - good for him for responding. Looks like the Philly fans pissed off the wrong guy and precisely the wrong time.
-
As expected.

Big deal, I don't buy this idea that there is a media conspiracy against the Wings - but even if McGuire does have something against Detroit, who cares. He is trying to point out the positives in Nashville's game because they SUCK. He knows that the are bazillions of Wings fans and they will watch either way. Broadcasters always attach themselves to the underdog team.

I don't know how many of us have seen this yet, but Brodeur and Avery refused to shake each others hands after the Rangers eliminated the Devils tonight. In an interview shortly after, Avery said "Fatso just forgot to shake my hand". Video coming soon hopefully. What do you think?

As temping as it sounds to have the 2,3, and 4 seeds out in the first round, I would rather play Colorado and let Dallas and San Jose wear each other down in a long series. I don't like the way the Flames match-up with the Wings, especially after last year - they would be looking for vengeance.
-
Meh, I don't buy it - unless the Preds strategy was to take point shots on Dom 'cause they knew he wouldn't stop them. That just seems a little too obvious.
-
He will fail miserably in Toronto. Too much pressure for someone who has never played in NA before. Besides, Toronto has the ability to turn anyone whose name isn't Sundin into a below-average hockey player.
-
I'd rather play the Avs. I don't like the matchup against the Flames primarily because their fans are ******* tools and I don't want to listen to them anymore. Besides, I want Keenen to fail early and often. I first round loss for the Flames and that team may be gutted.

Datsyuk Franzen Lidstrom Great series by all these guys. Player of the game for me tonight was Helm - he was great when called upon.
-
Anyone notice how nice of a guy Ellis is? No matter who crashes him, interferes, or gets in his face - he always gives them the little "You okay?" tap on the rear end.
-
I would have given him a double too. He was going buck wild there. Good period overall though. I think we out chanced them.
-
Good start - Nashville has had chances, but we knew they would come out desperate and hard. Considering that, the Wings are playing well. Props to Stuart for giving it to Tootoo a couple of times.
-
I call Ellis being pulled tonight. His luck has run out.

I am actually pretty close friends with Jim Matheson's son, and he is a really nice guy - makes me wonder how a bird brain like Jim can be his father. What a ******* idiot.

Thats a great pic!

Osgood looked really solid when called upon, and the only goal they scored was not his fault - I can't see many goaltenders in the league saving that shot. In addition, the team played really well in front of him and I think thats what Babcock was looking for; not only Osgoods performance, but the teams response and performance to him in net. The Wings played a great game last night - had some issues finishing but still dominated most of the game. Osgood should start as long as the Wings are still winning.

I am with you actually. I was also hoping he made it to free agency this year. Do you think Duck's fans made one of these for Lilja last year?
-
Neither of them stuck their hand out - it looked pretty mutual but Avery said it was Brodeur who refused. Personally, I don't blame Marty - Avery has been ragging him for years about his divorce, which is dick move - not to mention his idiotic 'screening' incident. Brodeur was worked up. Avery would have come out of this looking a lot better if he didn't call one of the best goalies all-time 'Fatso'. Talk about a childish thing to do...but damn, can that guy intimidate or what.
-
He will score another 30 goals next year. This guy is getting better and better.

PRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEE THE LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD . i am getting a Franzen jersey. Wings in 6 baby.

Everything that bastard Kelly Hrudey has said tonight has come true. I hope someone tells him to either shut the f*** up, or he says Zetterberg scores 30 seconds in to OT.
-
Its time to start analyzing why Detroit keeps making this half-assed washup AHL goalies constantly look good. This is bulls***. Ellis is having the game of his ******* career. I turned the TV off 'cause my heart can't stand OT. It makes me feel sick.

I think there a bunch of places that have childish chants like that. I remember here in Edmonton during the '06 Cup run it was "******** Chee-choo" and "******** Tee-mu" when they were playing the Sharks and the Ducks. They were pretty classless and obnoxious, but every fan base has its group like that. EDIT* I must add that these chants were not during the game, they were on Whyte Ave, Edmonton's Bar scene area, so everyone there was over 18, and drunk - not streaming out of the coliseum in front of kids and parents. At least some people had some more creative ones, like painting "Titties for Smytty (Ryan Smyth)" on girls T-shirts. Or "Shirts off for Samsonov" or even "Thongs for Prongs". Though it might seem lame, I actually thought the funniest was on a guys sign at one of the games - it read; "Whats a TEEMU, anyways?". Hahaha, maybe you had to be there....

Biggest game of the season. If we don't win tonight, i'll be pretty convinced its curtains for us. Lets kill 'em boys! GO WINGS!
