I agree, and so does Darren Dreger for what thats worth. Not sure if this has been posted and I am not willing to scroll through 14 pages so just ignore if you've seen it. Dreger's Take on the Pronger Incident

Yeah I am guessing its a mistake

To anyone who watched the game... Yahoo has Aaron Downey listed as the first star...how come? Mistake? http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/boxscore;_ylt=...?gid=2008031305

Is there some inside joke I am missing about people typing '4rd' instead of '3rd' period? I swear I have seen the mistake on this board at least 5 times in the last week?

Are you referring to the game against Pittsburgh on Sunday? Or a game last year? 'Cause I think it was Backstrom who scored on his own net, and Ovechkin dropped to the ice like a sack of potatoes, covering his face. I'm sure that made Backstrom feel better. haha! Anyways, it does get kind of tiresome seeing Ovechkin act like it's the first time he has scored every time he nets one - but oh well, if it makes other people excited about the game, do what you want. I'm more of the 'act like you've done it before' type though.

I thought it was going to be this.

I need a shutout tonight from Dom or Ozzie. Playoffs just started in my fantasy pool, and an SO would really set the tone...that or a Zetterberg 'trick.

Funny thing is...thats exactly what I did. Went to bed at 3AM, test was at 9, so I drank a Red Bull and had an Energy Bar right before the exam. It went well and now I get to sleep work on a presentation which is due tomorrow. F. School.

I have been studying Social Theory for the last 8 hours and I feel like my brain is going to blow. Midterm tomorrow

ew, I wonder what that would look like.

The Jackets were asking more from the Wings then they got from the Caps. Federov is still a good player, but I am not in with all this talk about bringing him back next year.
-
Really exciting game. Crosby and Malkin were unreal in the third, chance after chance. Those two have amazing vision.

I'm not going to say since birth, cause till I was 5 or 6 I didn't even understand hockey. So yeah, since I was 6. 1991. There are people in this forum who have been die hards for decades though.

Hmm. Lids back Sunday? Looks like Eklund f***ed up again.
-
Its annoying that he is a pretty good fighter, and I haven't seen him get railed that many times. But when he does...oh boy. That kid is going to get the sh*t kicked out of him one day...either that or a career ending hit. What goes around comes around...eventually.

By the end of their respective careers, we will have heard ten billion people bitching about how much media coverage Crosby gets as opposed to Ovechkin - and some how those whiners won't even be sick of it, as if it is some personal foul upon them, personally. ed. SP

Biron kind of pisses me off. I have seen some interviews with him and he is always whining about players in his crease and comes across like he is trying to be a tough guy. I wish Miller would have whooped his ass like Emery did.

No, not really - then you would be contradicting your own statement because you are saying Lidstrom WAS replaced if we remained first in every defensive category....even though it is clear he wasn't because they Wings continued to lose and those stats are more likely a reflection of earlier season success. I was just claiming that Malkin is not a huge drop off in talent compared to Crosby, whereas Rafalski is a good defenseman, but he is no Nick Lidstrom, and in the Wings case he injured as well, leaving Chelios and eventually Lebda and Lilja as our top D-pairings. My point was that just because Pittsburgh continued its success with Malkin after Crosby was injured does not mean that Crosby is not one of the best, if not the best in the league - it just means the team was able to rally around Malkin and secondary scoring to keep winning.
-
eh, I think thats more a display of Pittsburgh's offensive depth with Malkin - or Detroit's lack of Defensive depth after Lids.

Bob McKenzie wrote an interesting blog in response to this story...namely - its bulls***. If you've got the time, check it out. Bob McKenzie blogs on the Adam Foote 'Fraud'

I am still convinced Peter Forsberg does not even like to play hockey. Half of the time he only shows up for the playoffs.

Seems like the media hype really throws people off Crosby - you either have the people that ignore all that and actually watch him play - and the people who are so bothered by the attention this kid gets that they build a personal hatred for him. Forget the endorsements, the coverage and all the other hype he gets - it is not hard to make the argument that he is the best player in the league based on the points he puts up and his style of play. Calling him a 'cry-baby' is just ignorant, so he bitched about a few calls when he was a rookie...who hasn't? It just shows his emotion level and commitment to the game. Like I said, a lot of the people who don't recognize Crosby as one of the best - if not the best, come across as just being bitter. You can't ignore the talent this guy has.

Awsome. My fantasy pool just got the biggest boost, and Pens highlights are going to be that much more exciting now. Woohoo!
-
Yeah I was just hoping Zetter didn't go down with an injury, he was the real reason I was there.

Me at the Wings/Oilers game Feb 26. Excuse the dazed look on my face. I was coming to terms with having to see the likes of Mark Hartigan (background) rather then some of my other favs.
