I was cheering for the Pats - but i am not a huge NFL fan. Sad to see the perfection end. Those guys must feel horrible - to them, a 16-0 season means nothing right now. The game was boring, and the outcome seems like more of a perfection ruiner then a Giants victory. In fact, ten years from now I bet people remember this game for the Patriots losing, not the Giants winning. Saying that, Giants fans must feel GREAT. Congrats!

Off-topic: Wow, the Senators suck without Alfie and Heatley. Their lineup looks like it should be deep enough to win without those guys, but they continue to lose without them. On their way to being 0-6 without Alfredsson in the lineup.

QFT Thank god someone else is sick of all these comparing Crosby with Ovechkin threads, which usually turn into Crosby bashfests. Comparing AO to Kovie is much more appropriate.

I think two players could really help the Wings. J.P Dumont and Rob Blake. Blake is great D depth, and Dumont is just the secondary scoring I think we need - and we won't have to give up as much for him as we would for a Sundin or Hossa. Then again, if we could nab Forsberg, that would be nice too.

I'd really hate to see Hudler go - he is a big part of the secondary scoring this year.

Downey is making quite the name for himself. He has sure had some bonehead plays in his brief pro career and should be punished. Can't help feeling a bit bad for him though, with his hearing and losing his dad like that.

The fact that Scott Niedermeyer is playing in the All-Star game after missing half of the season makes me sick. Sorry if this is double - don't see it yet though.

Thats actually an interesting point you bring up - not that I am saying by any means that this will happen. But I wonder if there will be any extra incentive coming through in Leafs trades from possible GM's... But theres gotta be something illegal about that, right?

Early in the season, I was a little disappointed with Filppula. Now he has fully exceeded my expectations. He is on pace for 20+ goals - not bad. He is only going to get better too...

This article appeared this morning in the Edmonton Journal under the thread title - Its from Jan, 20th from Detroit Free Press, and I thought I saw it kicking around in here but after a quick search I couldn't find it. The article made me feel kinda bad for the guy - do you guys think he gets enough credit/attention around Detroit? I don't see why the guy is not the #1 guy over there. Can Hockeytown be Z-Troit?

Just to clarify - Pierre McGuire set out a couple of 'Best Case Scenario's' for the Leafs. By no means did this mean he thought the teams would actually do this, but these are the offers he said would be best for the Leafs in return for Sundin. Wings: Kronwall, 1st Rounder Canucks: Kesler, 1st Rounder Sharks: Michalek, 1st Rounder McKenzie thinks they will get a decent roster player and a combination of picks.

The article says its a high ankle sprain in the first line, doesn't that mean its NOT a broken ankle? Or is my idea of a sprain completely wrong? If it was actually broken, I think he would be out closer to 3...

I get what you are saying, you can't argue that Niedermeyer's not a great d-man, and under normal circumstances SHOULD go to the all-star game. But what about the younger guys in the league who worked hard ALL season to get a chance to go to the game, and now lose out on a spot because of a players reputation? Just doesn't seem fair, or logical.

I couldn't think of a worse scenario than the Yzerman leaving the Wings to GM the Leafs. Tell me that could and would never happen.
