While I strongly disagree with your assessment of the Torres hit (it was dirty, plus Torres has established himself as a head hunter), it doesn't take balls to suspend a bottom 6 forward for 25 games. You are right about that. Shanahan and whoever is telling him what to do are cowards. It takes balls to suspend a guy like Shea Weber for a direct act of violence, and act that in no way can be confused as 'a hockey play'.

You hate another team more than you LIKE the Wings? I find that a little strange. Sure, I root pretty hard against some teams and take great pleasure seeing them lose (Vancouver), but the satisfaction I get from a hated team losing is far outweighed by the joy I get when the Wings win. To each their own I guess, but don't ever try and argue that you are a bigger Wings fan than the majority of people here.

I've been thinking about this a lot recently too. Easy to do in retrospect, but don't you think it would have been nice to send Stuart out west with something like a top prospect and a pick for Brown?

No. I don't think he is. Legwand's goals (yes, both of them even though the first was waved off) were HORRIBLY weak, and Nashville's second goal was one of the worst cases of over committing on a puck i've ever seen. Forgivable a couple years ago, but Howard's got to start stealing games for the Wings. I think he has the talent, but he isn't showing the consistency.

FACK. We are getting Giguered ala 2003! I tried to tell myself it wasnt happening, but it is. Saying that, the Wings haven't had many clear chances at all. Kronwall and Franzen should have scored on their moves in front of the net, but we've had NO chances like Bourque or Klein's goals this game. Nashville D is playing really well. I'd like to see MUCH more out of Filppula - he has been HORRID so far. Cleary played well tonight, if I were Babs I would have moved him up to play with Zetter and Huds, at least Cleary was fighting for pucks. Fil looks really uninterested. Gah. Here's to hoping the Wings can win on Friday and get Lidstrom one more shot to play at home.

Hahahaha. That hit was outrageous! The tapping on the bench door for help was kind of pathetic, I almost felt a little bad for him. Poor guy, he got cranked!

I just notice he is getting hit a lot more in this series than in series past. I don't know if that's because Nashville is literally hitting everything, or if its because that classic escapability that he once had is started to wane. He hasn't been bad so far, just ordinary.

Close game. Can't get down on the Wings for this one, they played pretty well against a really good goaltender. They've got to find a way to play a more balanced 60 mins though. I liked seeing Nyquist on that first line with Dats and Franzen, he played really well. The only player I have been disappointed with is Fil - the guy has to step it up!

As someone who has done the trip from TO twice in the last 6 months, I found the tunnel to be a bit faster. I also found the fastest way to get through the border both ways is to just park in Windsor and take the bus over the border. Much, much quicker process.

The most annoying thing about this thread is the amount of people spelling Weber with 2 B's. Its WeBer, not WeBBer. Suspend his ass! I am not worried about the Wings at all. 2 of the Preds goals were really really bad bounces, and I think the Wings controlled most of the play. They will get to Rinne - we won't be Giguere'd!

I don't think Weber will be suspended, and honestly, I dont think the Wings would benefit from him being gone unless it was for a significant period of time. If its just one game, i've seen teams actually rally around there player being gone and stepping up, playing better because of it. The Wings should just use this as motivation. Weber knows he did wrong, and he should be looking over his shoulder for the rest of the series.

Sorry, did you want to have a discussion on semantics? I know we are all upset cause Datsyuk doesn't get as much attention and him, but its just something you have to live with. 37 points in 22 games despite missing most of the last 2 seasons with a concussion is as dominant as you can get in the NHL if you ask me, and I think many would agree. 60 goals in a season is pretty dominant too - I don't reserve the term for just one player. But Crosby is your villain, I get that. It must be tiresome investing all that emotion in a guy you hate though.

Haha WTF? You think because he doesnt play Canadian teams that often we don't hear about him or see him play? Trust me, the Pens don't need to be playing the Canucks for Sid to get exposure here in Canada. I hear what Americans, and fans of American teams are saying about him all the time and you all sound like babies bitching and complaining about a guy who dominates the league. Everybody on both sides of this argument needs to get over this. Yes, he ******* and complains to the refs - but the majority of hockey players do. We are spoiled in Detroit because we have a mature, experienced team, so we get really poopy when we see anyone whining. Crosby's antics are just amplified because everybody, even you haters LOVE to hear about him. The fact that you guys are all agreeing with some of the biggest bone heads in hockey should tell you something. All Milbury has ever done is ruin the New York Islanders, hit some fan with his shoe, and push around some kid at a minor hockey game. Cherry? The guy is absolutely insane. And Torts? Talk about a guy who needs to STFU and just coach. Take some hints from Babcock on how to be a professional. Talk about a whiner. And for the record, if the Pens and Nucks play in the final, everyone outside BC will be cheering for Pittsburgh. Vancouver is one of the most hated teams in Canada.

I remember seeing an interview with Kevin Lowe regarding this play many years after the fact - it might have even been for Yzerman's retirement. Anyways, Lowe said that after this game, Yzerman sought out Lowe outside the dressing rooms and apologized, saying that it was a cocky play and claiming he shouldn't have done it. Shows what a complete class act Steve Yzerman is.

I'm gonna miss Stuart if he goes west. He has been really consistent since he came here in 2007-08, and he adds a nice amount of grit to the D. He's gonna get a nice payday out in California and he deserves it. Hopefully he signs with the Kings.

Apparently they are good friends, and may consider signing with the same team if the prices are right. If Lids retires after this season (I think he will), Holland should really go after these guys. Vancouver. I hate the Canucks more than any other team in the NHL. They make Wings' rivals look like heroes to me. I even cheer for the Hawks when they play each other. Besides, is there anything greater for Wings fans than seeing those two teams destroy each other? Seriously though, I used to live in Edmonton, close enough to Vancouver to have some of those knuckle-dragging idiots at Rexall for games. They are the worst fans in hockey. Imagine Leafs fans, but dumber. They have never won a god damned thing in their 40 years of existence, yet they parade around like their s*** doesn't stink. The riot this past summer exemplifies what their fan base is like. Pathetic.

He will be back for the start of the playoffs I'm sure. I have a feeling part of the slow recovery process is letting him rest up before the start of the playoffs. This might actually be a blessing if we want him for a long run.

Lol no way. The Blues are primed to lose in the first round. They don't have enough playoff experience on that team IMO.
