OH GOD WE SHOULD HAVE PICKED THIS KID UP FROM EDMONTON. But, seriously - I watched this guy absolutely bomb in Edmonton last year. Funny how well he is doing now.

They sound so high-tech! Sensors on the blades that can be turned on by touch and automatically turn off when they player is idle on the bench? This is crazy!

Chelios makes trip to Nashville due to possible injury on defense

For some reason I have never feared for Lidstroms health. The way he plays just isnt that dangerous. He doesn't put himself in bad situations. Saying that, injuries still happen - but Lidstrom has really found a way to limit them. -
Why would that make you angry? A lot of people think he can be a great player someday soon, I don't see how that can piss someone off, especially if you are a Wings fan...
-
Yeah, 2 apples tonight so far. Thank god I picked him up in my pool a couple of weeks ago.

Well, my girlfriend was never a big hockey fan - but when Crosby came into the league, her and all her friends became Pens fans. At first it was just about his looks, but now they really like the Pens. I had to get her a Crosby Pens T-Shirt for her birthday, and she was devestated when I couldn't get tickets for the Oil/Pens game this past week. Bottom line is yes, the NHL has expanded its market by putting so much effort into showing Crosby off. Depends if you guys think these girls who are just in love with Crosby is good business, or bad business. If you ask me, any business is good business.

ah...touche

He's not a Canadien, he IS Canadian though. I love hearing about him - he is young, exciting, and an f-ing amazing hockey player. Better then hearing about the Leafs all the time. Damn.
-
Yeah - this is last weeks news. I think its been posted before. And for the record, I don't believe any charges are being brought upon these guys. League suspensions, thats all.
-
That's not true. Certain shows will give disclaimers when they start about language, shows like 'Chef Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares', but don't go giving the impression that our newscasters swear when they are giving us the daily reports. The shows with strong language are on later in the evening on cable channels. You wont hear anyone swearing on daytime TV.
-
Hahah, You can also say that Colin Campbell knows a few things about intent to injure, and if it was - he would be handing down a suspension. I doubt he even blinked when he saw the tape...IF he saw the tape. P.S. So how about them Wings being 20-6? Great times for Detroit fans...wooo!

I can't believe there are six pages arguing whether or not this is a dirty play...Slow day for Wings nation? We should be talking about Zetterberg's trick - not a fricking tripping call in a 5-0 blowout. Gaborik was fine, it just looked spectacular.
-
They are healthy scratches because they were on the ice for Pittsburgh's 3rd period goals on Wednesday - he is trying to send them a message, not make them trade bait. Stoll and Torres are seen as the future of this organization in Edmonton, Lowe isn't just going to give them away.

I'd even give the pitching to the Sox without Santana, and as good as the Tigers lineup looks on paper - i'll wait till the season starts to see how it goes. Which 3 4 5 hitters would you rather have? Ortiz-Ramirez-Lowell or Ordonez-Cabrera-Sheffield That could make for a good debate. Check this out Detroit's 345 hitters last year AB 1677 AVG .316 HR 87 RBI 333 Boston's 345 hitters last year AB 1621 AVG .317 HR 76 RBI 325 pretty close huh? So who would you rather have? P.S. I know there are some things to consider - Ordonez hit above his avg. last year...Sheff still has a bad shoulder...Cabrara wasn't even on the team. Ortiz hit below his usual power numbers due to a bad knee, Ramirez spent the last 2 months on the DL, Lowell hit above average... But I think its interesting to ponder. But you are right top to bottom the Tigers have the better lineup..on paper. Why not Eric Gagne?

McKenzie just cleared this up on 'Thats Hockey' about 15 mins ago. All the Ducks have to do is clear $880,000 worth of Cap space. Schneider and Bertuzzi don't have to go anywhere for Neidermeyer to play. My guess is it will be Sean O'Donnell Link http://www.tsn.ca/blogs/mckenzie/?id=224549

I bet the Tigers win the WS in '09. My BoSox will repeat next year because it will take Detroit a season to gel. ...okay - I can hope right? Unless the Sox get Santana, that puts them above the Tigers.
-
Exactly. I can see minor additions, depth- like Calder last year. Nothing more.

Swedish the 'W' sound is the English 'V' sound. I know the same goes for many other European countries; Germany, Austria , Poland to name a few. Just like we say Vienna, in Austrian its Wein, with the 'V' sound. Looks like its just a way of translating his name. http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/.../pronounce.html

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?p...reenshots060815 I don't know if this means as much for you guys south of the border, but to Canadians, this could be devastating news.

Looks like things are heating up in the Sox-Twins trade talks for Santana. Apparently they have requested Lester's medical records. *If the Sox land Santana, who is the better team, Boston or Detroit Detroit Tigers 1. CF - Grandersen 2. 2B - Polanco 3. 3B - Cabrerra 4. RF - Maggs 5. DH - Sheffield 6. 1B - Guillen 7. SS - Renteria 8. C - Pudge 9. LF - Jones/Thames #1 Justin Verlander #2 Jeremy Bonderman #3 Dontrelle Willis #4 Kenny Rogers #5 Nate Robertson CL - Todd Jones Boston Red Sox 1. 2B Dustin Pedrioa 2. 1B Kevin Youkilis 3. DH David Ortiz 4. LF Manny Ramirez 5. 3B Mike Lowell 6. RF J.D. Drew 7. CF Jacoby Ellsbury 8. C Jason Varitek 9. SS Julio Lugo #1 Johan Santana #2 Josh Beckett #3 Dice-K #4 Curt Schilling #5 Tim Wakefield CL - Jonathan Papelbon Thats a good match-up huh? I'd give the edge to the Sox in the pitching department, but the Tigers line-up looks deadly. Plus the fact that the Santana deal isn't even done yet the edge obviously goes to the Tigers, but damn - those are two mighty fine looking lineups.

MINE TOO.

I'd like to see the Oilers pick him up.
