Personally I love Remember the Titans. I also watched 'The Rocket' the other day - the one about Maurice Richard. It was by far the best hockey movie I have seen. 'Miracle' is pure garbage compared to it.

Ah, the daily Leafs thread at lwg.com.... It seems like most of this crap comes from the Toronto Sun, I dont know about things out East, but here in Edmonton and Calgary, the Sun is basically a tabloid that no one takes seriously.

yuck, I couldn't think of 4 more washed up old guys... I am a strong believer in youth - the younger the better. Do you think the Wings should send an offer to Phaneuf? He would be a nice replacement for Lidstrom once he moves on. Out of the forwards, Legwand may be a nice addition. Edit - oh and i have been really impressed with Daymond Langkow. The Flames will have to part with him or Phaneuf - i'd take either. Pascal Leclaire might be worth taking a look at - I think he could be a long term solution to goaltending in Detroit. Howard has not impressed thus far...

I know, which is why its so pathetic that we are still hearing about it. Just because Lecavalier is tops in the league thus far, we have to go through the whole spiel about how he could have been a Leaf all over again. There were grumblings about a deal and it never happened. If its so interesting to talk about what would have been, why don't we hear about what would have happened if Yzerman would have gone to the Sens in the mid-90's, instead of hearing for the tenth time in the last 12 months about how the Leafs were 'oh so close' to getting a star player. Like I said before, the way they portray it on TSN and Sportsnet is like it was some cruel injustice that Vinny is not a Maple Leaf, as if they would have somehow won the cup with him. It fails to realize the Leafs would still have crappy goaltender, disgustingly overrated defense, and a weak core, a losing coach, and a numskull for a GM. I like Dave Hodges interpretation of the Maple Leafs, they will never win because the team is arrogant (not to mention most of their fans). Players get there and think that just cause they are the Maple Leafs they are a cup contender, or that they deserve better then what they have received in the last 40 years. Its kind of like the New York Yankee's and their fans, except the Leafs actually suck. Personally, I love seeing them lose over and over again, and I am bitter that all I hear about on TV, even out west here in Edmonton, is Leafs Pre and Post Game coverage for three days leading up to, and after a game against the Atlanta frigging Thrashers. Look, the Oilers suck, people here have realized that in the past 12 months, the Leafs suck just as badly, yet the coverage I get on TSN reports it everyday like its a new thing. Give me a break. Uhg, end rant.

Spare me, there are trillions of these 'trades' that we never even hear of. The only reason we are reading this now is because it involves the almighty Leafs, and what they could have had, as if its some kind of injustice that the trade never actually happened.

A thirteen year old will be fine. I wore my Yzerman Jersey to the Wings/Oilers game 6 WCQF 2 years ago - I thought I was going to get murdered, I am a 22 year old, and I think that would be the worst age because lots of guys are out looking for fights. It was completely fine for 3 reasons. Hockey fans in Edmonton are not retards and respect a guy who is an Yzerman fan, I did not heckle them or cheer loudly when the Wings scored - I simply stood and clapped politely - and, the Oilers won, so everyone was in a good mood. It may have been different if the Wings won, but I had a hoodie to cover up on the way to and from the game on the train.

I've been reading a couple of posts on tsn.ca from Canuck fans who actually think Ohlund should not have been suspended because Koivu 'deserved it'. As if that is a reason for you to take a two hand axe job to the back of your leg. It was a dirty play and Ohlund got what he deserved. Canuck fans are almost as bad as Leaf fans and Pronger advocates.

For those of you who think Niedermeyer won't make the Hall...wake up. The guy is a virtual shoe-in. He has won more cups then Scott Stevens, a Conn Smythe, a Norris, an Olympic Gold, on pace for a similar(if not better) amount of points, and while not the heavy hitter Stevens was, is a better Defenseman. Plus he has played 7 fewer seasons. Not mentioning his Memorial Cup win and Memorial Cup MVP. I may hate him just as much as the rest of you, but he will be in the Hall.
