I had a weird dream last night... I was at work, and J.S. Giguere was there with me, in full pads and uni (funny since a work in a kitchen), and I kept telling him he was going to miss his game against the Wings, and he didnt seem to care.... THEN my dream shifted to a pond were I was shooting Ducks out of the sky and then breaking their necks as I collected them. Symbolic??? I hope so... P.S. ive never gone Duck hunting before, thats what made it so odd. Hope this means the Ducks lose today. GO WINGS!

For some reason i am addicted to TLC's "Little People, Big World". Does anyone else watch this show? I cant figure out why I enjoy it so much. Its not gawking at Little People or anything, I actually think the family is pretty interesting. Seems like they've made quite the life for themselves.

exactly. So hockey in California will grow, and Bettman can count on the fans coming back in Detroit next season. Sacrificing Wings fans happiness for a couple months is no skin of Bettmans back since he knows the fan base will return. Im sure he would rather see a Californian team play in the finals. If it were up to him, it would be the Rangers vs. some southern/western expansion team every year.

Think about it logically people, the NHL(Bettman) DOES want the Ducks to win the cup. They wanted the Hurricanes the win the cup, and they wanted the Lightning to win the cup. Why? Because it will PRODUCE MORE HOCKEY MARKETS. If a team with little fan base and not alot of fan attention makes it to the finals, such as Anaheim, Carolina, or Tampa Bay, it brings the sport to the attention of the city and its residents, thus making it popular. The NHL knows that no matter how early the Wings, Maple Leafs, Canadiens, and the other hot hockey market places are eliminated from the playoffs, they will always have a returning fan base. There is less to lose for the NHL if the Wings lose to the Ducks. The Ducks making it to the finals is a great thing for the NHL. Bettman will tell you the same thing. His whole 'thing' is making Hockey popular in the states. Particularly the South and the West.

No blame on Lilja, he scored the goal. Holmstrom had a couple of chances to put us up by 2, and Lids hit the post - not to mention Franzen's botched clearing attempt in the last minute. Its just the way the cookie crumbles. Props to Lilja. The Wings will pick themselves up and win game 6. Im sure of it.

I say put him in. Seems to be more dynamic of a forward then Kopecky, and at least he stays out of the box.

id give Howard a shot. The Wings are good enough to make the playoffs with him in net, but if things dont look solid before the trade deadline - make a deal .

Yeah, no way I would even touch a Canadian team. They all should stay. It would have to be 2 American teams.. Id probably toss Atlanta and Columbus.. just cause i plain dont like 'em.

He was great in the Ducks zone, but that whole line was getting owned defensively. If Bert wants to keep up his ice time, he has GOT to have a better 2 way game. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLAY HUDLER..NOT KOPECKY!

I was trying to pick a thread to post my thoughts after todays game, and my thoughts on what would happen - but i'll just leave it here. Lets hope history repeats itself in this series. I think the Wings deserve a trip to the finals, but if they are to lose in game 6 or 7, I wouldnt NOT be upset with the team this year. Their run thus far has been fun to watch, I just really want it to continue. Thats how this years run differs from others...in previous years we are always 'cup or bust', and I think this year there are so many teams like the Sharks or the Ducks, Sabres or Senators, that are seemingly so powerful that the Wings are a definate underdog in these series. Its fun to watch them continuously overcome things in this post season, and I truly believe they can bring this series back for game 7. Go Wings.
