I kinda wanted the Sens to wrap it up tonight. If they had won, and the Wings/Ducks series went 7 games, they would have 12 days off. Thats pushing the limit of 'rest'. If the Wings made it they would have the sure advantage- the Sens would have been rusty after 12 days off. Now all we can hope for is 10.

I can see why Niedermayer wants to defend his brother and Pronger, but his argument is comical. He thinks just cause the refs called one thing on the play, that Pronger should not be touched? It seems like he thinks Pronger should be off limits since Rob got the initial penalty. Thats what we call 'video replay' Scott. Remember, the thing which got you the tying 'goal' in game 2???

I woudlnt get too upset over stuff like that. There are plenty of people out there that just see the hit and think its awsome cause they dont watch much hockey. Dont take it too personally. And for Pete's Sake its been an hour since Pronger has been suspended and i'm already sick of hearing about it. Sweet, he is out for game 4 - advantage wings. No need to continue to make threads about how dirty it was.

I'm yet to see any Ducks fans response to this. They are no doubt hiding because of the 4-0 score...I dont think we will see much of them till this all blows over.

Don't know if anyone is watching the TSN intermission. The panelists are calling for a suspension on Pronger.. for what thats worth. But yeah, i'd give him a game for that.

Tough call, Neidermayer got the game misc and 5 mins, but Pronger did as much damage. He was the one with his gloves up high. Not sure if there will be a suspension for that, i think it will depend on Holmstrom's status.

I see it this way. Props to Giguere. He has found a way to be successful in the NHL, and yes - it's largely based on his positional play, which is also aided by his large pads and ability to bend the rules. But, if it WAS illegal, he would have been busted for it long ago. Kelly Hrudey was dead on with his analysis of him though. He is NOT acrobatic and does not possess the skill or athletics of a Brodeur or Hasek. Because of this, he can be exposed with high shots and cross crease passing. The Wings have to find a way to do this much better if they want to beat him. IMO, something has to be done about the equipment size for goalies in the NHL. Brodeur is successful without it, so is Hasek. If the NHL wants to create more goals they need to make the nets bigger and really start restricting the chest protectors. If Brodeur can play with his and not get hurt AND still put up great numbers, why can't goalies like Giguere be able to? It would be nice to see goalies who rely on their size and the size of their pads rather then their athleticism and skill exposed for once.

Since the Wings won the cup in 2002, they have not won a single series which has been televised on CBC. Not only that, but I swear they play poorly on Hockey Night in Canada. I forget how many times they played on CBC this year, but I can remember loses to Vancouver and a couple to the Oilers. They have much better luck on TSN IMO.... But thats just me being superstitious. EDIT: Except for the Flames series...so my whole theory is shot. Poo.

Why was he never considered for the Hart? I guess its pretty hard for D-man to win something like that. But if your looking for a teams MVP, Lidstrom is right up there.

Its true, the Ducks have really had the advantage 5 on 5 so far in the series. Unfortunately for them, plenty of the game is played on the PP of PK, which the Wings have had the upper hand on. This is going to be a dogfight for the Wings, they really have to work hard if they want this series. Side Note: Anyone else think that Brian Burke is a ******? He whines almost as much as Lindy Ruff, and he loves having a team full of goons. Take Shawn Thornton - The guy can barely hold a stick in his hands and skate at the same time. Did you see him drop the gloves again last game? He tries to fight anything, anytime, and he isnt even good at it. Guys like that don't belong in the NHL. I'm surprised he can crack the Ducks lineup.

IMO, the third Ducks goal should have been disallowed. I think it was pretty clear Neidermayer shoved Dom in with his stick, but hey - thems the breaks. Bottom line is todays game could have gone either way, as with game one. I think it will be a long series, but if the Wings want to win, they need to really bare down and push the Ducks. Anaheim has been the better team through 2 games.
