Right, I was just going to say this. He has things under his shoulder pads which extend them upwards. I find this a little odd. Why is that legal then? Thats just like adding padding under his shoulders. If you are going to make something illegal it should be enforced better, especially at the NHL level. I don't mean to gripe about it too much, because it doesn't seem like he is getting much of an advantage anyways, its just the principal of it all that worries me.

I'd like to think he would stay in Detroit, but other jobs would be tempting... John Muckler is getting on in years, and he is from the Ottawa area - a job like that could really tempt him, and you couldn't blame him for wanting to go to a place like that. Just a thought though. I bet he waits till his kids grow up before he makes a big change of scenery.

I'd give it 50%...at best. But he is entertaining, no matter how hair brained some of his comments are. A good Canadian Hockey Tradition.

Yes, I understand it was Yzerman's retirement ceremony. I watched just like everyone else - great night. I just didn't get what Frozen Moments 5/10 meant. First I thought it was a date - which is what confused me since his retirement would have been 1/2, but I gather now that it is number 5/10 in something called Frozen Moments? Correct? Silly me.

Avery is such a prick. I cant believe he called out Crosby... If Avery was HALF the player Crosby was. Nope - he will be a subpar player for the rest of his career, and everyone will ALWAYS hate him. Nice life, loser.

Living in Canada I find all these posts about people not getting the game so puzzling. Hockey is on NONSTOP up here. I never even have to worry about missing a game. Lucky....

I like the matchup. Here is how I break it down: Offense: Anaheim - Selanne, Getzlaff, McDonald, Kunitz - All offensive threats Detroit - Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Holmstrom, Lang - All threats Edge: None Defense: Anaheim: Pronger, Niedermayer, Beauchemin Detroit: Lidstrom, Chelios.... Edge: Ducks due to injury. Goaltending: Anaheim: Giguere Detroit: Hasek Edge: None Coaching: Anaheim: Carlyle Detroit: Babcock Edge: Detroit Intangibles/X-Factor: Anaheim: Secondary scoring from Perry, Penner, and the return of Marchant. Detroit: Possible breakout from Bertuzzi. Secondary scoring from Cleary, Samuelsson, and Franzen. Edge: Eh, I saw Marchant play for 9 years here in Edmonton, and other then his OT goal in Game 7 vs. the Stars, I was never all that impressed. Perry and Penner could be big, but so could Bertuzzi and Sammy looks really good right about now. Plus, the Ducks had two fairly easy opponents in rounds One and Two. Lets face it, other then Luongo - the Canucks rolled over in that series. And as for the Wild, they showed up for a period or two in that whole series. This could either be beneficial for the Ducks in the sense that they are well rested, but I could also see it hurting them - the Wings have had two hard series, and they might be banged up - but they are working like a well oiled machine right now, and they could take the Ducks by surprise early on. Saying all that, I would give the edge to the Wings in that department. I say(*hope*) Wings in 6.

Does anyone have any new ideas of how these 'new' uniforms will look? I know we have the All-Star jerseys to look at, but that doesn't give much of a sense of what the differences will be like. I know we should all be talking about the Wings moving on to the Conf. finals, but this has had me interested for a while, and I haven't been able to find anything new on them.

He is the best goalie in the NHL, and right up there with Sawchuk as the best all time. Everyone has a bad series from time to time, and everyone is human. Marty knows that. His stats and achievements speak for themselves. You can make the argument that his stats are a product of his environment, but so are EVERYONES. The guy would be a great goalie wherever he plays, and I think the fact that everyone is jumping on him for having a bad series speaks for itself - it obviously doesnt happen often - thats why everyones talking about it.

Bertuzzi has been gun shy since the whole Steve Moore incedent. I think he is embarrassed about what he did, and because of this, he hesitant to play the tough brand of hockey which made him so successful. Ive seen glimpses of brilliance, but they are few and far between. I think it will just take a while for him to get his game back and become confident. Whether or not Detroit is the place for him to regain his composure or not is up to management. I'm still pulling for the guy to have a break out game coming up here.

No.. they are dead too, but thats not the point. It is their 8 tentacles that are symbolic for the Wings. The ironic thing is that the dead shark was thrown on the ice. I just dont see how that would be a good omen. You dont see Wings fans throwing severed Wings on the ice after the goal - that would just be scary.
