GDT 4/1 GDT : Avalanche 2 at Red Wings 3

Martin is a great 4th liner. Oddly, the WSJ did an article on his training during the lock-out. -

I think he is (hopefully) showing that he is ready to take Cleary's role next season. He can be a net front and corner guy in the top-6, and move to the bottom six when needed/the team is healthy. -

He got that one out of the air. I didn't know he was that coordinated. -

with trade deadline approaching - who's our tradeable assets?
WorkingOvertime replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
I agree. With Z injured, trading Flip would deplete the Wings center depth for the last few weeks of the season as well. -
jan mursak does he have a future in the nhl?
WorkingOvertime replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
Likely not, but a lot of it has to do with luck. Mursak is a decent player who would look good on many 4th/3rd lines in the NHL. However, most teams (including the Wings) have prospects who they believe have more potential in the NHL, or players on the 4th line who have already established themselves. If Mursak had not been injured so much the past two years, I think he could have made it. Now, the Wings have too many players already in the bottom 6 (Helm, Abby, Tootoo, Eaves, Emmerton, Andersson, etc) and too many players ahead of him on the depth chart in GR (Sheahan, Ferraro, etc). Other teams are unlikely to take a chance on him because he doesn't have the experience to take time away from their own prospects or current players. -
Emmerton!

I'm not as down on the roster as most here, but I hope the Wings buy him out next season and give his spot to Tatar.

Sammy hurt again.
-
Good on Abby for getting in between both players and Dats.

Eddie can't control himself.

Very true.

Sammy with a big hit. I didn't expect that.

I don't know if it uses flash, but NBC should be streaming the game via their website.

Trade Huskins to Flyers for conditional 7th rd pick (2014)
WorkingOvertime replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
Good for Huskins, the Wings, and the Flyers. -
He's been on forward since coming back from injury. ~6 games I think.

Mule out the rest of the night.

The difference is Chicago did not build that team through trades the season they won the cup. The Pens will be fine next season, and likely the season after that, but they have moved significant future value for a chance to win this year.
-
If the Pens win the cup this season, he did well. However, if they fail to win the cup this season, I don't see how these deals can be considered a success. Looking at the Pens cap numbers, they aren't in a great position to re-sign all of the current UFA's for next season. http://www.capgeek.com/penguins/cap-calculator/

Dats!

Mule has been working a lot harder in the corners since coming back from injury.

Good shift by the Dats line to start the period.
