Is it me or is Dats continually one step ahead or behind where he could be to have a great scoring chance? It just can't go on. Trust me, I am a HUGE Datsyuk fan, but this is agonizing.

I bet they feel a little bit of a threat to their safety as well for bad calls. Alas, too bad it didn't work out this way. We and the NHL are far too civilized. That is our problem.

Really, it brings a sense of pride to you when our stars lay there waiting for the whistle? Sorry, I expect a little more. Perhaps had you played hockey on something other than PS2 you might know refs do indeed think this way. If they missed the trip and see you laying there it hardly brings about a sense of, "Gee, look at the poor guy laying there, maybe I should blow a whistle."

Maybe had he not laid there like a rag doll and tried to get back on his feet the refs might have respected him more and called it. This is a factor. Keep moving your feet and refs like that.

At least Homer was doing his job there. I suppose he has redeemed himself just a tad for me, but there is a long way to go for him. Honestly, can someone tell me why he isn't benched or on the fourth line. Sorry. On the positive side we seem to have the turnover problem a little more under control, but I see some tentative playing out there. I'm betting the Wings will turn it on soon. Just sort of feeling things out?

Prediction. One of these games instead of passing to Hossa Dats is going to go straight into the net and we will all say "Wow!" Being tied up shutting down their top line is a lot of work, but we know he can do it all. Homer is, I also believe, a liability on that line. He has to go. I think Cleary has stepped up as a worthy replacement in all ways, but do we move him again unless we need to?

Why can't we just enjoy the past for what it was and stop trying to recreate it? Sure there are COnference finals and Cup wins shared, but face it, the Avs-Wings rivalry was once in a lifetime and unique in history. It's not a pulitzer prize book, but read "Blood Feud" and also find the older Wings commemorative DVD with the top 5 Wings games that includes the turtle game and the 2002 WCF game 7 six goal in 1.5 period humiliation of Roy (following the game 6 with the epic statue of liberty save that was not a save). Do that little homework assignment and then look at any other potential rivalry and you will come up short in so many ways.

Oh man, you had to bring this up. It was super scary and had it been worse none of us would be thinking about games and standings today. Plus there were a lot of little kids at the game yesterday.... oh man.

Last year a Flyers fan said to me, "The Wings always choke in the playoffs." I countered with 3 Cups (now 4 of course) in 10 years and after a moment of thinking about that in relation to his pathetic drought he shut up. Even a Flyers fan could realize that was a stupid thing to say.
