Honestly I feel like NHL hockey has no consistent rules and is so desperate to have their stars carry their way that they turn the other cheek when it comes to discipline for them. God only knows if the other team is reckless and takes 3 penalties in a row, you know your team is going to get called if the other team's center trips on the blue line. It is becoming unwatchable for me; a true fan who loves any brand of hockey. The NHL is just as bad as the NBA when it comes down to the officiating deciding games. This doesn't apply just for the Wings either, its any team, save for a select few that are the keys to "promoting the game: (which doesn't really make sense cause the Wings are the most popular team). NHL officiating=WWE officiating.
