He shouldn't have to be there all season and I suppose being what, 30 years old he has paid his dues, but if I was administration I wouldn't appreciate the attitude.

Excuse me but the difference between 75k and 40k is only 35k... the difference between 4 million and 8 million is 4 million! I know no one neeeeeeds a yacht but if Marian has one taking 4 million might mean he has to sell it. I know if I had a yacht I wouldn't want to get rid of it. -
I love his stick handling... but didn't he basically impose his will on the wings in saying "I won't play another season in the minors." ? That sounds a little first lady-ish to me.

I wouldn't doubt he is proud of his heritage and no NHL team is more famous for its Russian history than the Wings. And as for getting someone younger.. thats cool but Kovalev has proven abilities.

One of my least favourite players.. ever. He is the coach and assistant GM of my town's OHL team. I go see plenty of games to see guys like Kane, Perry, Kadri and Tavares play but even all of that awesomeness is tainted by the fact that these kids are taught dirty Hockey by Dale and his bro. Mark.

Besides the vikings were the biggest bad asses ever just about... many of Swedish origin. Can't blame Franzen's inadequacies on his heritage.

I was embarrassed. I had friends over who are typically on the fence regarding the Wings and when that happened they laughed in my face. Franzen then went on to be awesome so I forgave him quickly.

Not defending him but when he fell to the ice hard without his helmet I think he was afraid of either being stepped on, or being beaten to a pulp in a compromising position. Any time I fell to the ice without a helmet I covered my ears cause I was afraid of being stepped on. I don't know why it doesn't happen more but anyone who has played knows that being stepped on is ******* scary.

Who are they losing to FA? The Flames were so tight to the cap it cost them the series with the Blackhawks. They were playing with 4 Dmen at one point. -
Don't the Wings sort of have a history of being able to humble and motivate stars? Wouldn't Kovalev pride himself in being a part of the Red Wings' Russian history? Couldn't he play with Datsyuk and then, you know, just reap the benefits of playing with the best hockey player?

I've only made it to 4-5 games in Detroit in my entire life. I never have the money... or any friends to go with me, they are all Leafs fans. I've seen Detroit play in Toronto once and that game cost me 165$ to watch from the cheapest seats in the house. I ******* hate the fact that T.O. tickets are sold out a year in advance and scalpers sell their tickets for 3 times face value. And yes I forgot about the Hossa fight! There were some good rights and lefts from the Hoss.

Nope and I would bet they won't sign him. Wouldn't it mean dumping one of their other big names? Like say Phaneuf?? I like Jay but I don't see them dumping Phaneuf. -
Unless he is of Yzerman caliber he won't play next season. I'd love to see him play in the bigs but... no way.

I'm pretty sure it was 6-4 Wings. But yea, a great day. Hudler, Fedoras and the fastest Datsyuk has ever skated in his life.
