Could do something along the lines of a Canadian game and an American game. As it stands now the american games have been great draws among US and Canadian viewers alike so that game won't suffer at all. As for the Canadian game I really doubt HNIC Broadcasts of Ottawa vs. Montreal brings in many US viewers as it is so it's not goign to change much... besides, Canada already has 'Hockey Day in Canada', where the CBC does a triple header of all Canadian match-ups and it is a great ratings success in Canada (of course). Anything to help Hockey right? Detroit needs the cap to go up!

This video is a great summary and testament to the series against Anaheim. This video was produced by the CBC as an intro for game 7. When I watched this before the game I sat back and knew I was goign to watch something epic. The series to this point had everything a great series could ask for, a brilliant game 7 (and a Detroit win) was absolutely the tastiest icing ever. No cup but lets remember the biggest win this year.

Maxim was always a favourite of mine. I gotta say though I'm in the Hossa camp.

This is why when I made this thread I gave due credit to the series with the Avs. That will forever be my favourite series. When it comes to iconic images the one that comes to my mind is unfortunately Hudler getting wrecked... Cleary flat on his back celebrating his GWG in game 7 is etched in as well.

Longshot but is it possible Penguins could match what Oilers

I love when fans of other teams are polite. -

I doubt the penguins will hold it together. The team despite winning a Cup seems to display more than a lack of chemistry, great players with little leadership, and only a reasonable deffensive core. With all the money being distributed between Crosby and Malkin (and even Fleury) it will be hard to sign Staal when his contract comes up and he gets an avalanche of offers. Crosby won't have permanent line mates since they come and go like the seasons in Pittsburgh. Some other things worth noting that will stack up against Pittsburgh. - Continuous media exposure is a bad thing, just ask the Toronto Maple Leafs. - Crosby despite being a great player is slowly but surely tarnishing himself amongst peers and fans. - Even though Mario Lemiuex played for the Pens (probably the single most exciting and possibly greatest player ever) the Penguins fan base disapeared after a few great seasons. It will probably happen again. -
Looking at that game winning goal by Lids... I just look at it and wish it could have been the same for the last shot of the year. The toy duck being hanged is the best.
-
This year he had a better plus minus and more goals than Crosby. This is of course without Crosby centering him. I feel bad stating these facts since this year Hossa had the advantage of playing with the best Center in the league. Undoubtedly inflating his numbers beyond what he would be capable of playing for Pittsburgh.

What about when Steve Yzerman makes this decision?

Definitely Iginla. -
Yea I did. We all exaggerate occasionally when trying to illustrate a point. Physically they are kind of the same. I'll admit Pronger has about 5 times as much hockey sense as Gill, but if Hal decided to start pinching he would look a little more like Pronger.

Honestly the worst thing Chelios did to the Red wings was go on T.V. and say he'd "..never play for Detroit".
-
He isn't good at hockey. He is good at cheating while playing hockey. If he wasn't as tall as a giraffe and didn't have arms like an orangutan he wouldn't be able to clutch, grab, and send elbows directly into opposing players' heads. He is a Hal Gill who pinches for points. Also think of the chemistry? He would be ostracized by his teammates and fans alike. Even if they could learn to forgive him it would be the better part of a season before it happened.

Oh god I hate that term 'active stick'.

Congratulations to your team for a great finals series

As has been said in a recent issue of SI. 'Heres to many more finals meetings between these two teams'. -
To true Star Wars fans the bit about Ackbar/Bylsma avoiding the trap is definitely the funniest bit.
-
Hmmm... TSN just reported Bettman will be there.
-
In that case we'd have to fly in Neidermayer to present it to Lids. The green jacket just goes back to the previous winner even if it is won by a player two years in a row. Although if he had to get his sorry ass into town to give us the cup that would be pretty sweet.

KARMA: Jordan Staal is my favourite Penguin. Plays on the third line (would center a second line in most cities), kills penalties like a 30 year old Kris Draper, soft spoken, takes few penalties and is never involved in media bull s***. I'll be happy when the cap become too much for Pittsburgh to handle and Stall is the first star they have to let go. I know it won't.. almost can't happen but I think that young man would look good in a Wings jersey.
-
Eric - Hurricane Jordan - Penguin Mark - Ranger You are right. The other guy was confused.
-
I did say it can't happen when I fantasized about Stall wearing the winged wheel. The fact that he is pretty good defensively, maintains himself well in pressure situations (game time and press time), and the way I see it he could definitely score 30 multiple times in his career while sporting a hot +/-. These factors make him look like a Wing in a Pens jersey.

Elaborate?

www.atdhe.net You can find links to most live sports broadcasts. The Red Wings games always link to: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/red-wings-live That stream is generally high quality and well maintained. Living in Canada I get the luxury of watching CBC in HD.

Can't remember what year it was but he was the lowest rated NHL player in one of the EA games. A solid 50. lol. As for Staal I've seen that he's been taking heat from guys like Pierre McGuire for being out produced by guys drafted lower than him. The guys he is talking about are Phil Kessel, Jonathan Toews and Nicklas Backstrom. This shouldn't be a shot at Staal. Backstrom for example plays beside Alexander Ovechkin. Thats almost guaranteed production.

If cap space became too much of a problem he will probably be the first to go and I mean if the Pens hang on to him until '13 Re-signing him could bea problem.

This was the best article concerning the SCFs I've read in a while.
