I was sent to work in Irving Texas from January to April 2009. Some of the bigger teams on weekends sold out. I saw the Wings play on a sunday for $20 per seat in the nose bleeds (the only ones I could get) The weekday games with weaker teams I could buy tickets for $9-$11 per seat to sit anywhere in the upper bowl. knowing that they are trying to sell and going bankrupt they problably do not entertain these seats at such a low cost. This was huge bonus to me cause my closest NHL arena in Toronto.

That is a penalty in any league I played or watched. "Unsportsmanlike conduct", I have seen a decline in this call over the last 5 years. It was the correct call by ref. I was wondering were the hooking calls that were called all year went? I was also getting upset at how a couple of times SJ tried to hack at dats wrists behind the play. take the 15 shots they got on the poer play and the shots are alot closer. How many of the shots cam from the top of the circle with litte to no traffic. Its not hard to out shoot a team. You could tell Franzen had either too much tape on the ankle or he is not at 100% and I ve a bert fan since we got him, but he had an off night. put it behind us and we need to get Drapes in to get under the skin of the sharks.

Much respect for Doan and his passion, reminds me of a captain we use to know till a great coach set him straight. I can't stand how they even ask these guys to do an interview right after. I thought Hanzell was immature to throw his stick at Eves on the empty net. but I won't judge the whole team on one player..

He ended up signing my program, and he might have been joking but I could not tell at 13.

My question is why do they need 4 refs on the Ice, I like having 2 refs and 2 linesman. Why cant they have 1 of the refs in a replay booth. Give them no longer to make a call then a ref on the ice. have them look at camera angles where most infractions happen. Corners and in front of the net. I betcha the big calls that they miss like the homer calls get more accurate, without adding a lot of time on the game. As for giving a break to the bigger markets... you have to be blind not to see that this happens all the time. Big spenders pay the big bills.

I love how Bert stuck up and showed grit, but on both occasions he could/should have gotten instigator. but then again the refs probably saw how O'Brien tried to sucker him in to getting that call both times. Another thing I noticed is both times Bert knocked him down with a punch that landed to the back of the head and fell on top of him. I know its completely different the Moore incident. but imagine if O'Brien got a neck injury from it?

If his english could get a little stronger I think he would make a awesome captain.

You think maybe players are targeting that knee and leg? This is why teams say its a lower or upper body injury.

This is awesome, Its kinda becoming common with professional athletes though. Last summer a CFL football player stopped a purse snacher, Jon Jones from the UFC stopped a purse snacher before his fight and now this. Who snaches old lady purses anyways?

If the Wings powerplay was half as bad as the Leafs I would be fighting mad too.

A “charge” may be the result of a check into the boards, into the goal frame or in open ice. This is a text book charging call in any league Ive watched or have played in. Trust me I have the same amount of dislike for Pittsburgs as most of you. The unwitten ruls is if your more then 3 strdes away and targeting a player (gliding at the end or not) it is a charge. NHL and refs got it spot on. As well in this case Brule had plenty of time to aviod the collision after Letang got rid of the puck. Shame on the commentators to try to compare this with the head shot issue that the league is trying to fix. 2 min minor nothing more nothing less. As for someone already mentioned what most coaches would think of of this play. Long as it was early or mid game, you take that peanlty. Set the tone and make the other teams defence edgy to make them rush and make mistakes. my .02

Watching the game tonight they mentioned on how his ice time has been cut. Maybe this is how he is complaing about being sit late in the 3rd against LA beceuse we were up by 7. #mindgames?

I was young, but I never disliked French Canadian coach Jacques Demers. He did win 2 jack adams awards and started the winning ways in hockeytown. Babs went to McGill in Montreal... food for thought. Edit: I see Bryan Murray and Scotty Bowman were born in Quebec as well
