I would not say Miller is useless.... But his main role is to shut down the power play and the big players... he has not done that lately. I think he needs to sit a game out to get some fire in his belly. It has worked in the past. C'mon silver fox we are counting on you.

Win some lose some, I agree if it was a Blues that scored I would be upset. I do not fault the ref's to miss the broken stick though. Abbys stick breaks at the lower hand in the middle. Some of the compisite sticks are like wet noodles. Play it at full speed not knowing the out come I don't see anyone seeing the stick break when it did. No Blues player approached the closest ref after the goal was scored. (at least from the TV angle I saw) I heard Backus complained but it was probably after the Blues video review team alerted the bench.

I have 2 kids from a "baby mama". But is because we don't feel the need to get married. Although I wish I was a baller. NBA would be 8 kids with 7 baby mama's or is that NFL... I cant keep up. They were joking on the fan this morning and if you work at a car wash pray that you don't see Helm pull up. All kidding aside I am happy for Helm and the new addition.

You do not need a "elite top pick" to be good. When is the last time Detroit had a player win the Art Ross? Individual awards mean nothing to this organization. Since we started winning the cup back in '98 Detroit has had 1 player break the top 5 in scoring leaders and 6 times in the top 10. Detroit has always focused on depth instead on star talent. When Pasha is gone hopefully Manta, larkin or another player will fill his shoes as Z and DAts took over for players like Yzerman and Shanny.

I just got home from watching Jake Patterson stop 45 of 48 shots to help the Kitchener Rangers beat Little Berts 1 goal and 1 assist for the Guelph Storm 5-3. Guelph and Kitchener are hated rivals. Usually a ton of fights and mega penalty minutes. This game was no exception. Only 3 fights but 56 minutes in penalties.The biggest difference between 2 years ago and now, Little Bert was involved in most of the penalties and started the fights and he was a little lightning bug being a pest. Maybe maturity maybe the injuries caught up or both but now he is a more complete player. He stayed out of all the scrums and hardly hit anyone. It was also clear that Guelph was a 1 line team, at least tonight. If Bertuzzi's line came off, it was not off for long and he also played most of the PK and PP minutes. I think Bertuzzi fired at least a dozen or more shot attempts had some bad puck luck with a couple posts and fan on a empty net. Jake was the number one star and for good reason, he saw a lot of rubber and a lot were good scoring opportunities. He works the lower net really well and was quick with little rebounds. He made 4 or 5 highlight reel saves stoneing what seemed to be for sure goals. Best part of the game is I got to take my daughter to her first OHL hockey game. It was a late night, but she enjoyed it. She asked me on the ride home when can she come with me to watch a Red Wings Game. I think it will be sooner then later.

Constantly inconsistent.... I am a mule fan and still am. Year by year yes his number match up. What is frustrating is he scores like a beast for 4 or 5 games then nothing for 15 to 20. Not saying we don't have others like that but he is the worst for it I hope he is back for a playoff run. The kid can be clutch in the playoffs.
