I don't get is why the Refs did not stop the fight after the jersey was pulled over his head. I have seen major injuries as a result of this carelessness by the refs. Soon as a player is at a disadvantage they are to break it up. just plain stupid.

well that stinks

Funny you mention that, when I was at the old maple leaf gardens early 90's the guy working the souvenir stand gave me and my friend the previous year's Toronto Maple Leaf year book. My Friends dad saw some players leaving down a roped off hall way. He told us to ignore rope and get an autograph. The usher went to stop us then said "OK get one and come right back". I got Gary Leeman's autograph. Something we will not see in today's world.

I know I am probably a little biased but I love the Joe. The low ceilings, its not flashy but loud. The fans are the most critical of there own team but the most knowledgeable. As well as decent price. I know opinions can change from location of the tickets to the year of the team. This was my take. Other rinks I have attended: Maple Leaf Gardens (Toronto)- I was 10 years old I don't remember much. But the wings won and Yzerman was involved in a line fight. ACC (Toronto)- Food was good but way over priced, the fans.... It was a sell-out and the place was packed, but I don't know where the fans were. only time I saw excitement was when Kessel touched the puck. One thing I noticed about games in Toronto as soon as they have the puck in the offensive zone the crowd yells "SHOOT!" Corel /Canadian Tire Centre (Ottawa) - 70% were disappointed wing fans. We got destroyed that night. nice clean area. Civic center (Pittsburgh) - The old Igloo before Crosby and after Lemieux. Half empty dumbest fans I have ever met. Most had no clue what was going on. It was just sad. American Airlines Center (Dallas) - Multiple games during a 3 month work stint. Good crowd, surprisingly knew the game well. Food and tickets were good and cheap. 11 dollars for any upper bowl seat. Tons of promos and fan interaction. probably my 2nd favorite besides the Joe. HSBC/ First Niagara Center (Buffalo) - much like Dallas just more expensive but far from Toronto. And I have seen the Wings, Ottawa and Boston play, and it is hard to find a Buffalo fan. Arenas on my bucket list: Bell Centre (Montreal) United Center (Chicago) TD Garden (Boston) MSG (New York)

injured Abby Out 2 Weeks with partially separated shoulder

Cally would be a better fit for an Abby replacement, but as you said he would be subject to waivers again. as much as I agree with taking the risk of losing Andy I think Cally is too important to the wings and the GR sitting in the press box as a healthy scratch. I think Cleary will do fine in Abbys replacement. Did anyone else cringe when Ken Daniels said Abby is having a career year and should pass his all time high in goals, Immediately thought "ohh gezz this jinx is going make him go cold or worse an injury" -
The US team camp will be announced today.

I have high hopes for this young man, I am a little concerned with the PIM. I noticed this last year in road to the Memorial Cup and in the WJC. He is usually good for at least one stick infraction per game. I hope Blashill can curve this trend. Anyone else see this.

I would say an outside contender... if that even makes sense. I think Montreal could drop as far as a wild card spot and the Wings will be is a race with Boston for the second seed in the division. Although we are close to Tampa right now they are a more polished team and should walk away with the division. Low Expectations: Finish in wild card and 1st round win. High Expectations: late 3rd round finish.

Sorry but who says you cant score on the 4th line? I remember the grind line being rather successful at scoring and shutting down. In 98 drapes, McCarty and Maltby all put up 13+ goals. I know that was a different time with a different coach that was famous for having players buy in to a particular role. IMO I see Jurco being that role player and not a leader. I have not seen enough out of him to give him a top role this year or last. Giving Miller and Glendening a trigger might be for the best. For some reason they create a ton of scoring opportunities but can never finish. My .02

When I looked in to this last night LeBrun mentioned that they were going to discuss this next week in the HOF board meeting, but nothing was decided. As much as I loathed him, He is a first ballot HOF. However I do not like the fact he is still collecting a paycheck for playing. How come no one mentioned Homer in 2015.... Not a first ballot HOF.... *cough*
