If our stadium was as big as yours you wouldn't see any empty seats believe that.

Where in my reply did I ever say Detroit WASN't a good organization? Clearly they are one of if not the model franchise in the NHL.
-
Hey so is tonight's game a sellout yet?
-
Snazzy, you really have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to the quality of the Pens organization.
-
Well then I guess that says even less about the guys he knocked down then doesn't it?

Yzerman was awesome, one of my fav players ever.

Ok enough talk from me for now, let's get these games started!
-
I can't speak for all Pens fans but I intend to make no excuses if the Penguins lose.

Sorry yeah, didn't see it on the first page, should have checked the 2nd page before posting I guess.
-
Fair enough, that would rile me up as well.

I agree with the original poster but to compare stats from then to now is ludicrous, the eras are completely different.
-
I totally agree but this site seems to have more than its share of objective reasonable people which is why I chose to post it here instead of some other Wings sites.

That's cool and yeah you're probably right but I just had to get it off my chest.

HAHA sounds good, I may have to mute the sound myself at times. Don't think just cause I'm a fan of the team that the constant circlejerk doesn't get annoying at times, it does.

I know I know Capt. Obvious right? But seriously if the Wings take Game 1, serious doubts may creep back in to the Pens and with Game 2 the next day the Wings can really damage any hopes they have of winning the series by taking a 2-0 lead. On the other hand if the Pens can steal Game 1, they might be able to carry that momentum into Game 2 and have a chance to win that one and be up 2-0 or at least make it close and head back to Pittsburgh with a split. What are your thoughts?

One note from the article though: he WhatIf computer ran the simulations with the assumption that injured Red Wings stars Nicklas Lidstrom and Pavel Datsyuk will return to the lineup for Game 1 on Saturday. However, if either player were to miss multiple games, it could be enough to push the probability in Pittsburgh's favor since Detroit was given only a small margin of victory in winning the series.

Not sure if anyone saw this but a cool article nonetheless. Not that I expect most of you to agree with the author's sentiment. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/185865-...ins-win-the-cup

The Pittsburgh defense while certainly not elite is very underrated. Scuderi has been incredible defensively all playoffs against some of the games elite players. Orpik hits anything in sight and Eaton is a shot blocking fiend. There is no doubt it will be tested against the Wings but anyone that thinks they are a joke is in for a rude awakening.

I mainly meant the back to back games this weekend. If there are still players banged up for the Wings going into Game 1 that aren't 100% and per chance they reaggravate something, there isn't any rest time for Game 2. That definitely works to the Pens advantage, whether or not they take advantage of it remains to be seen.

As a Pens fan, I have mixed feelings about facing the Red Wings again this year. There are a lot of cool storylines but at the end of the day I want my team to win and I'm not going to lie, I would have preferred to face a team that I KNOW the Penguins can beat. Just curious who you guys would have liked to have seen the Wings matched up against in the East?

I think the schedule definitely works to the favor of the Penguins, I personally am not a fan of back to back games or games with two days off. In the future, I think the league needs to really try and make it so the teams play every other day as i think this is the ideal time off between games.

I think it's definitely possible and to be honest has me a little worried, moreso with Malkin then Crosby though just because he did seem to run out of gas last year before the finals. One thing Bylsma has shown though so far is the ability to adjust and make changes when called for so I trust that if you are right, the double shifting of the two stars will come to an end before any major damage is done.
