They win and lose with dignity and class, the Red Wings are an organization that the Penguins should try to model themselves after. Thank you Red Wings for a great series and thanks to all the Red Wings fans that were cool enough to let me post my drivel here for a few weeks.

http://bostonblueline.blogspot.com/2009/06...cup-finals.html A few chuckles not hilarious but worth a quick read.

I plan on getting hammered but I intend to watch the ceremony regardless of who wins.

Wow, never thought I would see this post from you of all people, lol. Despite the idiotic bluster, myself and other Pens fans have spewed here over the last few weeks, I think it is pretty obvious what kind of organization the Red Wings are and how hard they are to beat. The Wings have my ultimate respect, and if they win tonight, there is no doubt in my mind that they are the better team.

Some Red Wings that I have really grown to respect in this series
Psychlone posted a topic in General
These are just a few guys that I have a lot of respect for and would love to have on my team. Head Coach Babcock- This guy always tells it like it is in the pressers. stand up guy, rarely makes excuses when the team loses, isn't afraid to give credit to the other team. Helm- Wow, this guy is a hitting machine. Would love to have a guy like this. Osgood- Has been incredible the whole series. A Hall of Famer to be sure. Zetterberg- The guy defines 2 way play, definition of a complete player, maintains his composure even when things aren't going well. Franzen- The Mule, there isn't another player like him. -
I don't hate them either, Hossa is probably the one I dislike the most but hate is definitely too strong a word.

Seems like he has some great family support which is good to see. Props to Mr. Hockey, there's nothing like a Gordie Howe hat trick .

I cringed when he went into the boards last night, that could have been very serious but he got up like it was nothing. -

I forgot to mention Filipula also. He has impressed me quite a bit. -

The D for Detroit is awesome of course, led by Lidstrom, but the players I mentioned were just ones that either have surprised me or maybe I underestimated a bit. -
I love this guy. Another Detroit stud in the making.

Great post. I intend to do the same if the Wings win.
-
I'll take the win, whether it was impressive or not, they still won. I am by no means guaranteeing a Pens victory Friday but if I were a Red Wings fan I would be very disappointed that the Wings couldn't finish the job in 6.
-
Even if the Pens lose Game 7, they prevented your world class player Marian Hossa (who by the way has been invisible this series) and the rest of the Wings from winning the Cup on Pens ice for the second straight year. Win-win if you ask me.
-
Optimism is one thing but I think some of you would be singing Kumbaya during the Bataan Death March the way you act about the Wings winning Game 7.
-
HAHA what a joke. Any Wings fan that was rooting for game 7 is an idiot, ANYTHING can happen in a Game 7, don't be surprised when it's your boys that are crying on Friday night.

You sure sound pretty confident that the series is going to end tonight. Hope the Red Wings feel that way too.

Some people in Pittsburgh (myself included) are actually down on Staal for being so inconsistent with his offensive production. I don't expect him to be as prolific a goal scorer as his brother Eric, especially playing on the 3rd line, but many people feel he needs to score more if he is ever going to be a top 2 line center. Having said that, I think he is already a good defensive player and I could see him fitting in with the Wings oddly enough.

While you may be right, I feel that at this point you have to play the style that got you here and since Bylsma took over it isn't the trap. Just for the record though, when Bylsma was the coach of the Baby Penguins he did utilize the trap. so you never know. Also, on an unrelated note I heard on the radio today that Sykora may play tonight, why I don't know.

LOL at Pigboy haha.

The one thing that has been really missing from Pittsburgh's offensive attack is putting guys in front of the net to screen Osgood like the Wings are doing to Fleury. I realize that the Penguins don't necessarily have anyone like the Mule or Holmstrom but there's no time like the present for someone to try this.
