Sorry if already answered. Do we just get a pick from Toronto? Or everybody that he talked to? I laughed thinking about getting like 4 3rd Rd. picks.

Can Z and Pav do anything to protest? (not that they would)
wheelchairwing posted a topic in General
I read somewhere a few months ago Pav saying something like, "Our main goal next year shouldn't be a 24th straight playoff appearance, it should be focused on trying to win the Stanley Cup." Don't know where from. Could Pav and Z not show as a form of protest. I know they won't and they would be buried for it, but at least it would send a message about management ... Thoughts? -
I bet Holland will get a three year extension. So will Babcock. If we start being horrible (i.e. not making playoffs for consecutive years, only winning 30 games, etc.) then a change may come. I could be wrong. Oh well. Sorry.

Trial date set in Steve Moore’s lawsuit against Todd Bertuzzi

What care does Moore need due to injury/disability? $104,000 simply might not cover expenses. Seriously. Disability is expensive... -

Just thinking of a way to let management know the "let's bring back player X instead of new blood" method is not the way things will improve ... just a thought ... -

Whatever. Get over it. Move forward. Hope for the best. Prove the haters wrong. Be thankful Detroit still has a team. Going to be hard to watch, but we aren't the Dead Wings again yet. Even if we are down the road, I'll still watch this team and support it. -

$3.5 M*****F****** million for a 40 yr old????? ... he better score 25 goals and 75 pts AT LEAST ... in other worries ... please re-sign Brunner ... -
I wonder if Kenny thinks we are a small market team ... like the Devils ... even though it seems totally off base and might not make sense ... I worry that Holland's cautious approach is going to leave the team with one or two stars and a supporting cast ... with an unwillingness to pay for others who could take us to the next level ... we aren't there yet, but we might be close to getting there ... I hope the brass realizes how good they have it with Mr. I. If he dies, Holland and many others might be (eventually) given their walking papers ... Holland may be trying to keep the ship steady, but it may start to sink before reaching the prized island.

When does free agency start?
-
He would be the 2013-2014 version of Dallas Drake!!!!!!
-
For all we know, Holland may indeed swing a deal and sign a more than capable FA ... meaning this time tomorrow 85% of the people on this board will be heaping praise upon him ... ho hum ...

Making a big deal about Boston and Dallas trade? ... but how could the Wings swing something like this without just hurting themselves ... like if we were to trade for Ryan ... ok ... big immediate whoop, but what about 2-5 years from now when the "core" can't bear the weight? I'd rather have 1-2 more years of "we can make the playoffs, then we'll just see what happens" followed by "boy, we have a fresh core of players who can carry us to the next level and win it, rather than "BIG TRADE, HELL YEAH ... oh, wait ... what'd we give up? ..." and still have to fill those holes with an overpriced free agent when our remaining prospects aren't ready. Overreaction? Probably ... life goes on ...

Will we even hear anything more before the 5th, or is Kenny just staying quiet until after the deadline? Knowing this might cut down stress for most.

Can't we just put Sammy on LTIR? How can we still keep Tatar Sauce (I know, bad nickname right???)

So ... are there any opportunities that look promising in terms of next year's free agents? I have my doubts as to whether anything really gets done this off-season. Does anyone think these overpayments to free agents will eventually slow down in the coming years? I look at the salaries that they are commanding and I have to remind myself that this is not the NBA. If we try to get any type of forward to play on the top two lines, I only see it happening through a trade where we will have to give up some of our valuable assets. I've seen a lot of people complaining about the high prices for players. While I will agree with you that the prices are somewhat exorbitant, this is the current reality of NHL free agency. The only way we *might* be able to get players to sign less expensive contracts is if we draft them, develop them, and so on. At the same time, I feel that there has to be a point where we have to bring in new blood, even if it means overpaying. If the organization cannot evolve with the changing dynamics of the business, it is looking like it will be a topsy-turvy decade, with everyone (hypothetically) biting their nails and wondering if Kenny will actually re-sign Tatar and "player X" to the $6-9+million that they could be asking for in the coming years ... I know it might sound silly, but that is what I see. I think we will certainly make the playoff for each of the next four years, I just want the organization to make sure that we are continuously bridging the gap, willing to bring in young guns, but also willing to bring in veterans that can help take us to the next level. I don't know if I have made any sense. I probably just sound like everyone else. Meanwhile, life goes on...

So, when will we hear something about whether agreements were reached?
