Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended
legaleaglewingsfan replied to Matt's topic in General
O most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus -- People honor and invoke you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, for I am so helpless and alone. Please help to bring me visible and speedy assistance. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly that the Red Wings get Nabby in goal after clearing waivers and that I may praise God with you always. I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you by publishing this request. Amen -

Detroit Griffins win this one coming from behind 4-2. And for a little -
Donate one is a cool idea

Muleswillfly- Did you really just say break a leg to three of our remaining star players...I mean I get the reasoning behind it, but I dont know we even need to give them the hint of hearing those words given the injury bug that we got going. Gonna be watching this one in my campus apartment with a bunch of Saudi Students who will be getting "English" lessons by watching me watch the game. Wings 4-2 Lids, Franzen, Zetts 2 GO WINGS

A little adrenaline clip. I watch this almost two years later and it still gets me excited. I still love how the announcers just say "He's out" before he hit the ice. -

Money on the board against the Wings

It goes to charity either way (fod pantry with a loss I think), and with the injury bug *knocking on wood* having just bit us for the last time I say we take the points where we can. We need to invade there place and take two then go home and get the full 4 in 48. I say we win it for the food pantrys and the homeless people. Its cold here in Ohio Go Wings and give the hungry something to warm them up. -
Hockeytown cafe, park close to the cafe and take the shuttle to the game, they have great specials after the game as well.

Before I went to my first RW game at JLA last April I stopped at a Meijer and bought myself a 40 buck Z "jersey". I went to the game and we beat the Coyotes to tie the series 2-2. For Christmas I got myself one of those customizable ones they sell at JLA with my name on it for 150. I can honestly say while I know the newer one is "nicer" I wouldnt trade any 350 jersey for my $40 one cause its not the jersey itself in my opinion, its the memories you have in it that gives em value. But just IMHO. I cant wait for tomorrow night, I just wish I didnt have to work on Bar Exam studies cause my school is positioned halfway between Columbus and JLA and I have always thought it would be cool to do the home and home weekend thing...maybe next year.

2011 All-Star Rosters Game rosters named
legaleaglewingsfan replied to evanbartlett's topic in General
If the Wings and Nick want him to rest we have the flexibility to do so with the Devils the game before and the Sens the game after the break it wouldnt be hard to comply with the new rule of sitting the game before or the game after, either way he would get a week to just relax and rest up. I wouldnt mind that since we have a crazy busy schedule at the beginning of February with 4 in 6 and one basically every other night until Feb 13th. But just MHO there and why I am not a coach or admin in the Wings organization. -
It is times where the will of champions are tested that champions are born. We shall never surrender

Classic clip Tank, it sits pretty close to the Turtle clip, or the goalie throwdowns during the Col v. Det years. I was watching this game with my fiancee, who I am sad to say is "one of them" , and she threw something at me for cheering Howie and calling Sid some colorful terms. I just pray they dont make the SCF otherwise it will be another long 1.5-2 weeks for me and her. Seeing LGP you would think someone had Sid whacked, there is talk of assassinating anyone who looks at him wrong. Im all for defending a teammate when he is bullied but when he is an instigator like Sid I think you need to let him prove his mettle, but just a homer opinion I guess.

3-0 Howie is a new man. God I miss the good ole days when this was a guaranteed fight night matchup. -
Why do other NHL teams' fans hate the Wings?
legaleaglewingsfan replied to FischersChick2's topic in General
Our widespread nature too. We travel exceptionally well, and we are faithful if we move away from Detroit. This is a sub-addition to that reason in that they probably don't appreciate our providing their ice with Octopi. For some reason they do not see the timeless tradition in this that we do. I believe my fiancee who is a pens fan called it classless. -
Anyone else see the yote fan flip off the guys tossing the octopi as they were being escorted out? Stood in their way and yelled like a good while proudly displaying his middle finger which could I guess also be his IQ level. On a more hockey related note the yotes look frustrated, hope they remain that way but not to the point they injure one of our guys.

I smell a conspiracy seed being planted. I think its not ideal for the NHL to own one of its teams, that said as long as they sell the team ASAP in the offseason then I could care less. We are blessed to be fans of one of the best franchises in all sports and we prove our stuff on the ice, this will be a moot point by Sunday night I hope.

Given the size of Red Wings Nation I am sure there is an attorney down there that will be willing to represent him if he so desires. Hell it would be hilarious if he requested a jury and there were enough Wings fans to if not acquit then to at least hang the jury. I can only imagine that voire dire. And who here is a Wings fan, Coyotes fan, hockey fan.

At the game on Tue. the officials were warning the Yotes bench about how their players were holding the Wings. Meanwhile calling BS penalties on Dats and Franzen. I honestly think the NHL uses the playoffs as a training program for officials and a penalty for others so they dont have as long an off season cause the calls just get more and more ridiculous. Is it possible to petition to be put in the Commish's spot for next season. I promise a complete overhaul of the league. Officials held responsible for being terrible, more media exposure than a few chosen butt kissers, and of course more televised games on actual channels.

He definitely took a running start at it, Ref review says there was a definite kicking motion

Red Wings fans became more confident in Howard as the game went on and chanted, "JIM-MY! JIM-MY!" after some key stops and again toward the end of the game. "That was pretty cool, pretty surreal," Howard said. "It's great knowing that the fans have got my back." According to NHL.com Jimmy heard us loud and clear. :octo: :octo:

Anyone got a clip or pic of the fool kicking the Pi?
