I am young enough to have not experienced the Dead Wings era being 5 when we first made the playoffs during this 20 year streak. And as much as I pull for the Wings with all my heart I do not believe you are truly a tested fan until you have experienced the bad times and I am not talking about 2nd-3rd in the COnference or even an injured race for the playoffs due to injuries like last year bad times. I am talking about Cleveland Sports, Detroit Lions, oh my God I just threw a shoe at the tv because we just lost 30 in a row BAD. I pray I never become a "true" fan, but come hell or high water I will always reach for the Winged Wheel jersey in my closet and wear it with pride. I had a Canuck fan IM me last night and give me all kinds of crap about the score. I simply said the following "See you in May, if you make it that far." LGW

THIS Being at the Joe last night was the true rollercoaster of emotions. From the I hate my life please let it end already to the intensity of cheers rising up with every goal. My heart was pounding, my legs were weak, and the atmosphere was electric. Having never been to a finals game, I can only imagine that this is what its like. Well worth the price of admission.

Weird its my birthday too. I also will be in attendance, but sadly my fiancee is a Pens fan and because its just shy of 3 hours to Det. and I was meeting with an old French teacher we both had in HS I am bringing her along and coughed up the money for 2 additional tickets foregoing the one I had right behind the Pens entrance tunnel. BUT in good news the old French teacher is a Wings fan so she will take my place to "welcome" the pens to the ice. We will be in S218B R9.

Even though I was only able to start attending games at the Joe this past April, I somehow have been swept in. When I wasn't at school I was closer to Nationwide and so dad would always take us there due to time considerations, but I completely prefer the Joe. I can't say what it is either, I love that its dedicated to a Legendary Detroit native, and though others call it a dump, when the team is going and a good crowd fills it I can't think of a more electric environment to behold. And Im sorry but those new arenas that encourage people to use their electronic devices irk me a a bit. You are at a hockey game, watch the hockey game or expel some energey and get your head up to watch the jumbotron. Ok rant over. If Mike builds us a new arena I will come, but I wouldnt mind him making sure to tie our heritage into it.

Last night was just fight night plain and simple. The CBJ and Lanche went at it a bit too. But they also played some hockey this just looked like ok time to fight....oh you mean we should play some hockey too. Its probably a good thing Crosby wasnt around for this otherwise someone from the NYI would be looking at a lifetime ban for even pondering throwing a punch. So who is wearing the C for the Pens now that everyone is gonna miss a game or two...or 10?

Having gne through this injury streak I have NO, ZERO, ZILCH, 0% sympathy for the Pens or their fans, esp the ones who made comments when they beat us in Jan. I do like the Friday night fights
